My marriage was a wreck. I had been to other counselors in the area. I just didn’t see any positive results from the level of care that I was receiving. I felt hopeless and that my marriage was over. A friend of mine could see my struggles and asked me to give New Hope counselors a try. I had never heard of them before. With nothing to lose, I made an appointment and am so thankful that I did. I have been going for a while now and life is getting better. There is still work to do, but I am getting better. My marriage is getting better. The kids are not as distant from me as they were before. My counselor really connected with me. They explained hard truths to me so that I could understand them and accept them to begin healing myself and my family. I really felt a personal connection at New Hope and I believe that is what helped me the most. I felt like my counselor was really interested in me and my situation. Not just treating me the same as everyone coming in their door.

In way it sucked (at first) but believe it or not it actually ended up being a great place for me. Were there some bumps on the road yes. Were there times I wanted to run home yes (I actually tried and didn't make it far) but at the same time nothing that you could go through there was any worse that being home in fact I think I maybe wouldn't be here today if not for good Ole dessie. I met some of the best people in my life here. I had some really good experiences. I finished high-school I am 29 and am married with 3 kids and a homeowner. I can honestly say none of those things would be true if not for them. I actually am a 2 timer I went for 6 months when I was 15 and it wasn't long enough. Got home and didn't make it 3 months had to come right back. Well anyway I guess my point is you don't make it there by accident or by bad luck and there are a thousand worse places they could send you I promise you.

I’ve been going to this clinic for over a decade for severe mental illness and as my primary care provider. As a long term patient there, I know most of the staff by name. I have a lot of love and respect for the staff especially my doctor Deborah Katz, they treat you like family. They care about your health and wellbeing. The negative comments on here are just Karen’s and Kevin’s complaining because they have nothing else to do with their lives. I recommend this clinic to anyone and everyone I know. Update: 526 days sober and going strong. I have definitely had cravings and vulnerable points, but have managed to stay sober thanks in large part to the ridge.
I'm at 8 months sober today and can say that the things I learned at the Ridge still help me every day- literally. I am still in the aftercare program and getting a lot out of it. If you need help this is a great place to build a foundation for sobriety (and abstinence from other drugs as well).
Summary: The Ridge is an excellent comprehensive treatment program for alcohol use disorder (and others). I personally had an exceptional experience with the residential treatment program, intensive outpatient therapy, and aftercare. Nothing about this experience was easy but I am confident that due to my experience with The Ridge I have a solid recovery foundation (I am just over 4 months sober currently).
This review focuses on residential care
Highlights
-well developed program that is evidence based
-full days
-attendance at local 12 step meetings
-access to a wide variety of recreational activities and art and music therapy classes
-I felt prepared when I left and have continued to feel that way (it has been difficult but I have the tools)
-staff are compassionate and helpful; many are in recovery themselves
- peer support
- comfortable accomodations and excellent food
My advice if you are going to a program like The Ridge (these things helped me to have continued success today)
-follow the rules, yes they may seem silly
-do awkward things they ask like getting a temporary sponsor and numbers at meetings
-listen to their advice, they may says things that sound stupid,my experience is that the things I think sound stupid end up being the pertinent ones
-try to relax into the time; enjoy not having to do a ton of chores, cook for yourself etc
-take the time to build a new hobby
I electected to go to The Ridge when I came to terms with the fact that I have an alcohol use disorder. I was receiving psychiatric care and my provider gently led me to acknowledge this. Two providers independently recommended The Ridge when I expressed interest in treatment.
Residential
I initially signed up for the 30 day program but decided to stay longer as I was getting a lot out of the program and am really happy that I did.
Residential days are very full. The beginning of the day is filled with groups. The afternoon has time for recreational activities (no naps). A lot of people take up pickleball during this time but there is also the option to go to the pool (when open), do art, write, etc. Evenings there are 12 step meetings in the community.
Accomodations
I stayed in a private room which I would say was Marrott quality. Cleaning services are provided. You are expected to make your bed (a pretty minor thing). The meals are excellent and snacks are freely available. The culinary staff are great- very personable and great educators. It was sufficiently comfortable and quiet enough to get quality sleep.
Nursing
Nursing staff were generally available and very helpful. Medication time windows could be a bit tight but were feasible.
Recovery support specialist staff
Recovery support specialists helped with sessions, daily questions, and herding everyone, They all have different personalities but in general were very easy to get along with. Supervisory staff were very helpful and responsive.
Counselors
Generally had very helpful sessions, individual counseling was very helpful.

I love STEPWORKS in Nicholasville, KY. My therapist was Alaina and she was such an amazing, caring, listener when I needed her. She is highly compassionate and intelligent in her field. She knew everything I needed her for and never let me down. Jen, the Facility Administrator, is such a sweetie. She listened and gave me great advice. The staff is truly emphatic. They have various addiction backgrounds and knew all the right things to say. They gave me advice I will keep with me forever. Duke, the amazing Duke. I will miss that little guy with all my heart. "Puppy!" is such an outgoing ESA dog. He loves everyone he meets and for being 9ish years old is still the king of his castle. He is so loving and a great fit to keep love in the air there. Having Duke there to lend his 4 legged care and compassion makes StepWorks such a loving place. Some might say they wanted to leave or they didn't like being there. Those people didn't finish the program or take it seriously. I wanted to leave numerous times, but after a while it wasn't because of the program, but issues I was having mentally. After talking with the staff and doing the much needed changes to myself mentally, I realized it was me and not them. You have to take the program seriously to benefit from it. You have to follow the rules, be involved with the classes, do your chores appropriately... All to gain what is needed to live the sober life. Don't use the program as a way to have shelter, food, utilities, to meet a lover. You will not gain what you need to keep from being a statistic. Do as your supposed to, and you will leave there a new person and a changed sober person. I did and I'm not looking back. Thank you StepWorks for all you did for me. I'm glad I didn't leave, I'm glad I followed the program and rules, and I know I'll be successful in life when I wouldn't have made it without your help. Love you all!!! Rehab Chick for life!! Eastway Corporation is a behavioral health and addiction treatment center in Dayton, Ohio. They operate about 24 behavioral health facilities across the state and help individuals address challenges like mental health, substance use and co-occurring disorders. The latter is when you’re simultaneously dealing with addiction and mental health issue | Treatments Programs Payment Options | If it wasn't for Eastway I would have been dead by now. I've been with them for 15 years. But their housing program is okay. I also like the fact that there's a pharmacy right there inside. I've been using Eastway's Pharmacy since they opened up. I definitely like that your meds can be delivered to your front door IF you have No Way of getting to the Eastway building. IF you have (a) prescription(s) that needs to be filled the same day you go in for an appointment with a Doctor they will have it filled by the time you're done with your appointment. I will Always recommend Eastway to someone that needs mental health and proper medications. I like the staff that works there. Everyone is very nice to you and they usually have a smile on their face. I try to get a laugh out of one of them and it usually works. As long as Eastway has their doors open I will continue to go there. The staff is wonderful. I'm glad that I have a case manager for longer than two years. My case manager now (and has been for 4 solid years.) She goes above and beyond the call of duty. (She's been there for about 20 years). She helps me go grocery shopping and soon to do laundry up the road. I Pray everyday that I don't lose the case manager I have now. I have pleasant feelings for Eastway. IF you get the chance to be a client at Eastway, remember that getting the right medication can take some time. It took them close to 13 years of trying different medications to get the right regimen that works for ME. I also like the fact that there's a Bus Stop right out front of the building. 😎🤗🤓💜✌️🤙👌💟☮️. I hope you can enjoy the care and staff there. Everyone there is a happy, pleasant person. I LOVE EASTWAY!!! The ONLY way I'll go somewhere else is IF they close their doors. My mother told me about Eastway and when I started the "Journey" there I had a sense of good things to come my way. The rollercoaster of emotions that I was going through finally ended when I became a client at Eastway. At first I didn't like it there because of TWO case managers they Always had a funky attitude towards me and dismissed the fact that I'm there for Mental Health. I'm getting treatment for my Bipolar Disorder. Looking back I'm Glad that I got help from them. IF I didn't make the first appointment to go there, I HIGHLY DOUBT I would be alive right now making this post. Eastway is the one facility that I recommend EVERYONE to go to for Mental Health. In my opinion and experience, Eastway is the place to go get help. Thank you Eastway for your help and this "journey" I'm on with y'all.

Upon arrivngl at Lexington Addiction Center(LAC) I was greeted with friendly staff that was awaiting my arrival. At first I was nervous because I was 500 miles away from home and didn't know anyone, but as I started to settle in things got easier. I shared a house with about 10 others that was in recovery just like me. The house was clean and well furnished. I had the opportunity to attend AA meetings 5 times a day which in part helped with my sobriety. My case manager kerstin was very helpful in assisting me with issues that I was going through at home as well as housing and giving me overall information that I needed to secure housing. I can't say enough how LAC has helped me. I appreciate all the staff for assisting me through this journey. If you are thinking about going to LAC please do so with an open mind and ready to get on the road to recovery, this place is really great!
