Lincoln Nova is a great place for recovery! Excellent care with superior staffing that cares about the clients. The recreation therapist is the best in the business, and so is Ms. Andrea. I stayed at Pecan Haven for about a month and it was a crucial step in my recovery. The staff was friendly but serious with my recovery. The facility was really clean, and I enjoyed the extra amenities, like the pond that you could walk around.

We had a good group of guys coming in, however and moreover, the absolute best rehab facility. Besides the fact that they lost a $25 Slime brand bicycle tire air pump still unopened that they wouldn't replace.

I have spent a lot of time and trips to several of the VAs of La. A lot with my brother and on my own and with a dear friend of my father. I’ve had one bad experience 40 or more years ago and that was in Jackson Ms. I’ve watched my brother die recently and as I look back l saw only respect and professionalism. I’ve had several visits recently and in years past. I have only complaint and that would be trying to do anything by phone. The Shreveport, Monroe, and Alexandra have been great. On several occasions when asking for directions l would be shown not told how to get to a location . When I thru they maybe waiting to show you the destination. I say THANK YOU for your service ! They sometimes are treated badly and talked down to . I l give them a ##### five star even if you have to deal with the phone cluster!!

I have been going to the Monroe VA Clinic since it opened around July 2009. Before they moved into the new clinic, I went to the VA Clinic that was out on DeSiard Street near Swartz for about 5-6 years. I have had both good and bad experiences over the years. For the most part, good. I agree that sometimes the wait can be excessive especially when you have a set appointment and are not a walk-in. Some of the doctors take too long with patients, while their other scheduled patients sit and wait on them for hours. Of course, if they are short-staffed the wait is going to be longer, but this is not something that we should take out on them. And alternatively, the employees should not direct the stress that they experience toward Veterans or each other when this happens. It's a hit and miss. I have experienced the best and worst sides of the Monroe VA Clinic, but for the most part my care has been exceptional and most employees I have encountered have been respectful and always thank me for my service. There is always room for improvement not only in this particular clinic, but with some of the employees and also within ourselves. After all, no one is perfect and neither is the VA System. It's about adjusting and adapting to any situation and making the best of it. I will add that sometimes I may get upset about the wait time, but, my health is much more important than the wait time and my doctor is extremely thorough when it comes to my care.

Dr Bernaise’s rating is not just good, he is great. Edgefield first caught my attention because of its location and history but upon arrival I was introduced to the compassionate staff that made me feel at home. The repuposed plantation house is such a charm with beautiful chandeliers, fireplaces, and paintings to gaze at between classes, meals, or in the afternoon. The staff was so caring and involved in my recovery process. They genuinely are concerned for the patients and it shines through all of the employees, from the physicians, techs, and lunch room employees. Being set on a quiet bayou with lots of wildlife to observe and appreciate. I recommend a volleyball game during your stay. The food was amazing and filling, so if you are on a diet I suggest passing on the 2 peanut butter and jelly sandwiches they offer as snack. Thank you for helping me so that I could help others.

Absolutely beautiful grounds and the most supportive, caring, and loving staff. From the moment I walked in at Intake I immediately felt welcomed. Was greeted by staff that also had personaly experienced the recovery journey. Having that in common made it easier for me to be able to start forgiving myself and focusing on my sobriety. The techs were able to guide me , answering all my questions and calming my anxiety. There was plenty of other clients to talk to. We enjoyed fishing, volley ball and basketball. Staff even played with us. My counselor was able to listen, be empathetic but also hold me accountable. Which I needed more than I knew at the time. The atmosphere was relaxing and perfect for my self healing. I can't thank Edgefield Recovery Center enough for giving me the opportunity to get my life back. One I am proud of. I would strongly recommend Edgefield to anyone ready to start their journey. We had nightly AA meetings, small groups, one on one counseling, mediation, yoga, gratitude, family meal's. (BTWThe food is Great!!)Edgefield Recovery Center saved me. The discharge planner was even able and willing to work with me to find me a sober living home in my preferred area to where I was able to get a job, have transportation and begin on a healthy path!!
