Everyone really cares about us here, and they treat me with respect.
My councilor is Cameron and he has been the voice of reason in serious situations that have came up over the last 6 months. He is super supportive, and always gives me insight that helps me navigate these serious issues I’m dealing with. He always has boundaries, and ethics and is a safe person for me to confide in. I don’t know what I would have done without Cameron’s help through the last few weeks especially but through my pregnancy and other sensitive situations.
Nurse Blue is also someone that I can always depend on for advice.
Mrs. Melissa is always going to advocate for us patients she is fair, and knows her stuff about all this. Even though she is director and busy as could be she still is available to talk almost any given time you can contact her if you have a question or concern. She is also amazing.
Mrs. Angela the lead nurse is friendly and a great person to talk to about anything without judgment. She is down to earth and she going to go the extra mile for you. And when she draws your blood, no matter what you have going on with your body she is going to get it done without hurting you.

Needed assistance for a close family member this week who was experiencing suicidal thoughts. I was skeptical when reading reviews however once admitted our family had the best experience. So easy to contact and check on our family member and the counselor Jason kept in touch which us and was very helpful. She was released today and only had good things to say about the staff and facility. She even bragged on the food.

Absolutely beautiful grounds and the most supportive, caring, and loving staff. From the moment I walked in at Intake I immediately felt welcomed. Was greeted by staff that also had personaly experienced the recovery journey. Having that in common made it easier for me to be able to start forgiving myself and focusing on my sobriety. The techs were able to guide me , answering all my questions and calming my anxiety. There was plenty of other clients to talk to. We enjoyed fishing, volley ball and basketball. Staff even played with us. My counselor was able to listen, be empathetic but also hold me accountable. Which I needed more than I knew at the time. The atmosphere was relaxing and perfect for my self healing. I can't thank Edgefield Recovery Center enough for giving me the opportunity to get my life back. One I am proud of. I would strongly recommend Edgefield to anyone ready to start their journey. We had nightly AA meetings, small groups, one on one counseling, mediation, yoga, gratitude, family meal's. I attended Pecan Haven several times over the past 2 years. I have struggled with the disease of addiction since I was 18 and I'm currently 29. Each and every time I arrived I was broken and scared for my life in drug induced phycosis from methamphetamine I was treated with the upmost care from the staff to the clients the atmosphere is amazing there. Loving and caring. The staff is a notch above the rest because they have been there too. They know both sides addiction and recovery. I've had three counselors from my multiple times there from Ms.Cassie to Mr.Brad to Ms.Brooke and each one of them gave me tools that I use in recovery today. The last time I went there I was in a prison of my own demons locked in a hotel by myself smoking meth scared to death. I reached out and Mr.Shadley Powell personally came and picked me up and got me in the same night within a hour. They got me placed in awesome sober living where I'm currently doing well and I will always be grateful for my experience with Pecan Haven 5 out 5 stars

Hi 👋 after seeing all the negative reviews.. I would like to share my experience as a patient myself in this facility. I suffered from depression and alcohol abuse. I was placed in this facility by the emergency room I was at. I did not pick this place as my first choice. Who was I to be picky anyway. I needed help. When I first arrived I was very sick and going through withdrawals. I was a bit terrified because it was a scary place to be in considering you’re in there with other addicts and we all looked like sh** to say the least. But after awhile I got use to it and came to realize they were human just like myself and are actually good people who just were in this same cycle of abuse I was in. I felt like I was going to die in there the first few days because I was so sick from my withdrawals and getting up everyday for checks, meds, meeting with psychologist, counselor, groups, etc was very difficult for me. But I was so thankful for what seemed like help for the first time in my life I wasn’t going to give up. The staff was nice and friendly. There is A LOT going on in there so I can see how a need or two may not be met. You have to realize you’re not dealing with sane individuals in here. You’re dealing with lost souls. That is not easy work. The bathrooms are dungeon like lol but it got the job done. The food was excellent. They had it going on with the meals and snacks. lol they offered cigs and phone calls. We got to go outside and be social. They have a picnic area and a basketball court. They had a living area for movies. Just to name a few. It really wasn’t that bad. Yes I did get put on medication and was doped up but I needed it at that time. Coming off anything causes a lot of anxiety and depression. When I got out I got to talk to my doctor and Psychiatrist about meds and we changed what was needed. While I was there they talked to me about options for long term treatment. But at the time I didn’t want to do a long term treatment center. So they asked different questions and made sure I had somewhere to go when I left. Which was home for me. I lived by myself so they set me up for outpatient care and I had a whole team of people working for me and would come to my house. I was really grateful for the experience. It was eye opening for me. I enjoyed the group therapy classes. It was a great start for my recovery. Although, I ended up relapsing again and again. This place really helped me.
Don’t except your loved ones to come out of here completely brand new. Becoming sober is a long road to recovery. It may take several rehabs and several relapses. It’s all about the will power and mindset. And most definitely the support of professionals. That’s why relying on family alone does not work. We have to let the professionals do their job. Again, I’m thankful for my experience here and I’m almost 2 years sober now. I hope this message finds you well. I do not mean to push any buttons or insult anyone. I’m just sharing my own personal experience. God bless anyone fighting addiction and families who are affected as well. May God be with us all. 🙏

I entered CADA March 30, 2017, I was completely out of hope, and full of despair, the only solution I thought I had was suicide. My drinking, and drug use took me to a place of desperation. I could not stay sober, but I could not quit using. I went 20 plus years of suffering. The only coping mechanism I had, for every emotion, was to change the was I felt with drugs, and alcohol. When I was sad, I used, when I was happy, I used. My life revolved around when I would get my next bottle, or find my next high. I lied, cheated, and stole, whatever it took to get my drug of choice. I destroyed my family, and friends. I was like a hurricane in people I loved lives. I saw only darkness.
In CADA, I learned tools, coping mechanisms, of how to deal with life, on life's terms, without alcohol, and drugs. I gained a new sense of self worth. I started to recover from a disease that had already taken so many I loved, including my mother.
CADA took another chance on me 6 months into my recovery. I was hired as part of the support staff. I continued to learn and grow, in the place that saved my life. Three, and half years later, I am now part of the Peer Support Team, giving back, what was given to me.
One of my favorite quotes is, "It is always darkest before the dawn." CADA gave me my dawn.

CADA offers a treatment solution for almost anyone! It is affordable and very comprehensive in its therapy. My favorite programs at CADA are the adolescent treatment facility, which includes a full time teacher, and the Family program. Women who are pregnant, or have children are welcomed in the family hall. Their children attend public school. Infants and toddlers are cared for while the ladies participate in their groups or counseling sessions. CADA has been a LIFESAVER for hundreds of recovering people!

The best! Compassionate, professional, and experienced. I have been receiving mental health and substance abuse services since 2015 from at least 7 different places in the area. I have been here at SBH since 2020 and this is by far the best. They helped me recover from 6 months of debilitating depression where I couldn't even get out of bed. I thought I was broken and in some ways I was. I had eyes but couldn't see. A heart but couldn't feel. A brain but couldn't think properly. Dr. Bosmia and the staff cared enough to try new things when I wasn't getting better. If you are reading this and you or someone you love needs help please don't give up. Pick up the phone. Make the call. Get help because it's available and there are those willing to help, I promise. I'm proof.

Mostly positive interactions at this clinic. A few "normal" va frustrations at times. But I am lucky because I have Dr. WELSH and she is a great doctor who really does care about her patients. Her team is great too. I also cannot say enough wonderful things about the wound care clinic group. They are really informative and have helped me greatly after a dog attack.
