Today, my Mom went into radiology to have a biopsy and was greatly taken care of by NP. Melissa Dunford. My mom speaks and understands very little English so she was super nervous! This was her first surgery and wanted me with her every step of the way. Unfortunately, that was not possible, which is understandable. I waited in my car instead of the waiting room. Melissa called me to let me know the procedure went well and where to go to wait for my mom. My mom told me Melissa was very compassionate and kind, and I truly appreciate her for that! Went to the ER on Sunday with a bit of an embarrassing problem. The front desk told me that they don't offer what i was looking for, but told me I could talk to a nurse and see.
I was brought in, talked to a couple nurses, and ended up seeing Dr. Elizabeth Lyford who really heard me out, was completely judgement free, and in the end was able to help me with my situation. I left feeling so thankful and very relieved. In total it only took about an hour from walking in the door to walking out.
It would if been very easy for the doctor to just tell me no, they couldn't help me, and send me on my way, but instead she was compassionate and took my issue seriously. I didn't get a chance to thank her, but I think the she definitely deserves recognition.
