Beyond to help me get to the place I choose for further treatment they also got me multiple things I needed like clothes and cosmetics literature for the 12 step program I do! The groups were good. The clinical staff was very good to me and made me feel at home! Also there's tvs in the room so that was cool when I had nothing going on and the smoke breaks were just enough. And spaced very good! Spectrum staff members are caring, well-educated and passionate about helping each client on an individual basis. The level of care far exceeds that of other programs. I started my 'journey' at Sisters of Providence in Holyoke, and (apart from my clinician -- who was amazing!), it felt like conveyor-belt-style care. Now, that was a 2-hour round-trip commute every morning, but Information about Spectrum (20 minutes away) was hidden from me (despite my inquiries) for months because it was a separate organization and they likely didn't want to lose me as a paycheck -- I mean patient. Spectrum is the total opposite. It has changed my life. I wasted years fearing a program, and the stigma attached. But I realized-- since I was already dealing with the stigma of having fibromyalgia and chronic pain, it made no difference, and I needed to try -- for me. It was always solid, but the changes are noticeable. There have been small things here and there, and at times they seem a bit understaffed, but it never took away from what matters. The staff genuinely care, and you can feel it. A lot of them are in recovery themselves, and every time I’ve asked for help getting into further treatment, they’ve come through. My counselor Ryan helped me not leave early more than once, and I’m grateful for that. The other counselors were great too. Evolve is run very similarly—great staff and counselors like Ronnie who really help. I’m coming up on 8 months clean, the most I’ve ever had, and Sunrise Detox and Evolve played a big role in getting me there and into a halfway house.
