I personally highly recommend this program. I wish it had found me sooner. It is a safe and welcoming environment where you can discover how to heal and grow from your addiction. The schedule is flexible to your needs and each group addresses different topics that range from life goals to dealing with personal situations. What a life changing experience! I have too many good things to say to list them all here. The buildings and the grounds are new and well maintained. The staff are all wonderful and go above and beyond for every client. I got to see first hand how hard everyone, frome the cleaning staff on up to the directors how hard they work for us and how much they care. The clinical staff are so knowledgeable and caring. I felt like everyone there was working on all my issues with such a drive and the highest level of competency. The recovery specialists do a food job of fostering a positive and safe group culture. I was especially impressed with Katie, who's commitment to the clients was demonstrated daily by her caring, upbeat, positive nature and willingness to go above and beyond for every client, all day, everyday. A big thank you to Katie and to Rose, Erin, Nikki and all the others who helped me change my life so drastically for the better in such a short 28 days. There are recovery centers out there doing good work and recovery centers doing great work. This place is doing phenomenal work. They help people make lasting changes in their lives. Thank you all!

This is a wonderful detox and treatment center! They will get you sober and give you the tools and resources that you’ll need to stay sober. Kind, caring, knowledgeable people (Case Managers, Recovery Specialists, nurses, food service staff, cleaning staff), nice, clean facilities, good food! Couldn’t ask for more. The folks at NERC truly care about you and your recovery. Special shout-out to Case Managers Sara, Tara, Brittany, Grace and Diana, as well as Recovery Specialists Pam, Gretchen, Danny, Nikki, Nikyrah, Esmeralda, Lauren, and all others whom I haven’t mentioned by name. Rose is an amazing family therapist. There are a lot of great, caring folks working here who truly want to help you! They also offer free, confidential family support through their Magnolia program. I highly recommend New England Recovery Center for detox and Clinical Stabilization Service (CSS).

I’m currently in blue hills care and have been since may. I was very resistant in the beginning but they are the first PHP program to break down my stubborn walls and help me become open minded to recovering and choosing to improve my mental health for myself. Jodi the clinical director takes time out her to talk to every single client no matter the time. All of the staff that work here have the clients best heart at interest. I relasped and blue hills took me back and I’m better than ever. I’m applying for a job and getting my life back from domestic violence and 22 years of mental illness. I came into this program as an older woman, scared and unsure of what to expect. This was my very first time in treatment, and after coming from an inpatient program where I honestly felt like I was treated more like an animal than a person, I didn’t know what I was walking into. From the first day, the staff and clients made me feel welcome and safe. I wasn’t seen as just a diagnosis here, I was seen as a human being. That meant everything to me. The groups were supportive, the staff truly cared, and I felt like my voice mattered. This program gave me hope and reminded me that healing is possible at any age. I’m grateful I came here and would recommend it to anyone who feels nervous about starting treatment.

I want to leave an honest review as a wife whose husband went and completed the adult/teen challenge program 3 years ago. First of all this program is 100% the persons choice of how far they want to grow in this program. It’s a program that is absolutely God centered. It is a discipleship and recovery program for men and yes it is designed very strictly which was wonderful for my husband because it gave him the necessary boundaries that he could not set for himself on his own, something many addicts struggle with in life. The director of this program and his wife have been through the program themselves and understand the process and how hard it is to go through it as a family. They became like family to us. I was so angry and broken when my husband went away and it was so hard not seeing him for those first 30 days. The staff there were an amazing support to me and were in my corner which was what I needed at that time. The time away from us helped my husband realize how much he really loved his life, and how much he did not want to lose it or throw it away anymore.Through the long process of being away, learning how loved he is by God and having such a hard time of surrendering all of his comforts, he was radically healed and changed during that time. My favorite time during his stay there was family ministry time when we all got together- all the families around a table with all the residents and took turns sharing our hearts. Having those connections were so important at that time for all of us. It was difficult to commit to 12 months but I am so glad we did. He is 4 years clean in Dec. 2025 and I am so grateful for the love and support from Hector, Alex and Carmen especially. They literally have give up almost all of their time and so much of their lives to run this program and all for the support of the families and residents. I would recommend going. It will be hard but if you commit, surrender and believe and let God work- you can see amazing transformation 🩷🩷

Their program provides hope, structure, and encouragement, but most importantly, it points people back to Christ. Channing House, which is a Halfway House now operated by Advocates, is probably the most successful men's substance abuse house in Worcester County and probably one of the 5 best or most successful programs in Massachusetts. It is a fully accredited 6 month substance abuse residential program. However, they let me stay for 8 1/2 months because the staff agreed with me that I wasn't ready yet. I've been to well over 25 halfway houses and at least 15 different sober houses...and Channing House is by far the best and most successful program in Worcester County.

Hands down this program saved my child's life...... I could go on and on about all of the staff and how amazing they are very caring and professional ! I am an overbearing mom who needs to have the answers, I call.
10 times a day to check on my child.And never once did I ever feel like I was being pushed to the side because I can get annoying.... Which Is the best feeling ever because i'm trusting the care of my precious child To a bunch of strangers. Some of the reviews on here could be pretty scary for a parent trying to find their child some help.But I'm telling you from one parent to another.If it wasn't for this program I don't know where my daughter would be or us as a family.Thank you so much MYR For everything you've done for us and saving my child's life! Update, it's now 2023 and theres a new director for a couple of years now.I have to be honest and say this place has gone downhill. They barely offer groups and most of them are on Zoom which in my opinion is so impersonal. I switched my pharmacy for the first time in over 10 years and they haven't updated my chart so my psychiatrist sent my meds to the wrong pharmacy. This might not sound like a big deal but I use medminder a mailing service and all my meds come prepackaged by dose so having to pick up certain meds in a bottle and put them in each little container for a month or two defeats the purpose of having them prepackaged for me. If you're just looking for a therapist and not groups or a psychiatrist then you will probably be okay here but it you're like me and need more help than that you will be at a loss. My therapist is great so I won't leave but I thought they have declined enough update my review.

I'm not sure people understand the difficulties with making a program like this work. You have lots of mentally disabled people giving one star because they can't color the picture they want or couldn't speak with their med doc right this very second. Considering the constraints and low pay the clinicians go through to just try to help people, the added digital slaps aren't really necessary. I've had no issues and have had no complaints in dealing with Dan or the staff here.

Since I started going here about 4 years ago I got a great therapist named Justin Mertz. We hit it off on day one and had a great professional relationship up to his untimely death. I was assigned a new therapist named Lindsay Fox. Her and I hit it off great. Lindsay and I are working hard on my care just like I had with Justin. We do a 50/50 conversation. Also I had very good interactions with the Nurse Practitioners at New Beginnings. They all are great and good resources for psychiatric medications. Thank you all at New Beginnings. Gorgeous serene location. Not sure many walk down to the pond/lake. Outdoor picnic tables for contemplation. Privacy is a Huge plus adding to focus.
Haven't been there in over a year. I hope it hasn't lost its "run down summer camp" vibe I read in the other review that it's new (renovated) because a lot of charm is in the larger room with books.
Casual with Excellent Experienced Highly empathetic dedicated counselors. They've seen it all. The composition of "Patients" is quite varied. You can have a Professor making buddies with a plumber. I mean this in the best way & you already know that's how it works ideally. I just want to encourage people to not stereotype it as one socioeconomic group or another. But yeah mostly white.

This a very protected environment where you can focus on your treatment with no distractions. The groups are beneficial, the therapy is superb, and the staff is second to none. The facility is new as of writing this and provides a calm and relaxing environment to focus on your recovery and self. As with all programs like this you get what you put into it.
Cant speak highly enough about the staff. They will be there for you anytime and guide you threw the hurdles of addiction and mental health issues.
Thank you to Neakaug and their staff I cant praise you enough. I hope this this program doesnt depart from an excellent program they have working. If you want to stay sober commit to coming here and working their program.

I had a family member that stayed at the Maria ave group home in or around Auburn 2023. My cousin truly changed for good after discharge. She had learned the basics all over again and in such a good way. She had a group of some older housemates that really cared for her. It was the first time she has ever felt heard. I’ve always had a good experience at this hospital. The staff are friendly, patient, and make you feel cared for from the moment you walk in. The doctors are knowledgeable and clear in their explanations. You can tell they know what they’re doing and why they’re recommending certain treatments.

I love this hospital! My Ob-gyn, Patricia is here and she is FANTASTIC. I delivered my son here almost 2 weeks ago and I can not boost enough about how INCREDIBLE the labor/delivery and postpartum nurses were! They made my first birth experience amazing. They took such good care of my son and I and always made sure we were comfortable and taken care of. They were also very genuine and patient. I highly reccomend this hospital 💙

I went to ORH for treatment back in 2019/2020. With serious hard work and self reflection. Taking the program seriously and not just come here for a bed to look good on court documents or probation. It is an awesome program and has a high success rate. ORH will NOT discharge someone if he is doing everything that is asked of him, attending groups, meeting, participation around the house, and keeping a clean room,
People who do not take the program seriously will have bad reviews. Family/friends writing reviews on others behalfs don't know the real reasons why other were discharged. And could have happened for a number of reasons.
I truly enjoyed my time there and would highly recommend the program to others.
