As far as psych unuts go, this one is *TOP* of my list!! The food is AMAZING, the people are WONDERFUL, the programs they do and the support they provide are absolutely the best I've had (and, I'm not ashamed to say I've been to *many* different inpatient units over my lifetime. 😅 Being able to go in when you realize you're out of sorts or not feeling safe is VERY important!! We don't talk enough about mental health in the world, and it's just as important as physical care!)
Anyway.... 10/10... HIGHLY recommend!

Although I have nothing to compare this program to, I found my care to be top notch. Okay, the beds are a bit hard but the doctors, social workers and the nurses (almost forgot to mention the OT folks) were incredibly kind and effective. In my opinion, the inpatient program is as successful as the work you put into it. There is no magic cure; just need to pull yourself up by the britches and dive in.
Oh- the food is quite good as well!
I would highly recommend this inpatient psychiatric programming!

Connections Counseling is by far the best place I have ever been to for therapy and treatment. My therapist is insightful, inspiring, relatable and very knowledgeable. She encourages me to look within myself for strength and wisdom while she is there to help me. I now have 1.5 years of sobriety under my belt and have confidence in the future
The groups are a place of safety and comfort. The staff aswell as the peers are relatable, inspiring and encouraging. Kim is the most uplifting person you will ever come across in recovery. Smart move to have her be the first person you deal with at Connections. My life will never be the same (thank goodness) since I have come to Connections

I have been incredibly impressed with the Madison VA healthcare system for my elderly veteran father. Each dept always exceeds my expectations. Lab, radiology, primary care, acupuncture, and especially the Audiology dept. They are life savers! I cannot speak highly enough of the care, love, and respect they display. While it's a little hard for me to get to especially during the road construction season the clinic is about as accessable as anything else is in Madison. In July the VA is opening up a clinic on the east side of Madison not far from Sun Prairie where I reside. That should make it a good deal easier for me.

March 25 I will have been clean for 2 years. I have been to many clinics and never have come this far! If I have a problem I get dealt with usually that day and with addiction being fast and efficient can be life or death. I think Dr. Harkin has tried hard to make his clinic a better the typical methadone clinics and I think he’s done amazing job! Not one of the other clinics in Madison can you walk into and say I’m struggling can I please talk to the doctor, not one of them will you be able to do that but at ASAP you can and that’s enough for me that right there is what it should be! When we walk in there in the morning sometimes all we need is someone to say hi , how are u doing with a smile on their face and that’s enough to change that day!! I’m so grateful for my second chance at life….well let’s keep it real more like 100th chance at life!! Lol but I think I got it this time and that’s thanks to dr. Harkin and he’s amazing staff!!

Dr Harkin, is great he is truly compassionate for his patient's. I have only been to one other clinic and they just treat you like a number, they treat you with respect at ASAP and they don't judge. It seems like everyone likes Dr Harkin, you will even find him out in the parking lot from time to time giving fist bumps to his patient's and asking them how they are doing.

During my very short time with them(relocated states) I have had nothing but the best people and care, especially my girl Trish(hopefully I spelled your name right.) I am Mexican American and I didn't have not one issue regarding race issues as they are a little diverse in their staffing as well. My only complaint during the short time was, no one tried to help me with housing... One of the main reasons I had to leave. Other than that 5/5 from food pantry, pharmacy, all great! Kevin is a pretty good one as well. Really they all are in the Madison location. Highly recommend!!

As a social worker in the community who has regular interaction with Journey- specifically Crisis- the responsiveness and follow through is wonderful. I had a situation where I was uncomfortable attending to an individual alone. I called Crisis and was able to speak with and have a Crisis Worker who is familiar with the individual accompany me to the home visit. Having an additional person with me, we were able to accurately judge and come to agreement for the safety of the person- that he did not need hospitalization, but rather needed additional support and time to be listened to. My thought is this: Sometimes the greater structure of the system is the issue, and not the resources in the community that have to follow those structures in order to help. I am grateful for Journey!

My experience with Journey Mental Health has been truly life-changing. The care I received was compassionate, encouraging, and inspiring. Over the years, I’ve made lifelong friends through the women’s groups I attended and experienced significant personal growth. It was always comforting to have a safe space to check in every week, especially in early recovery.
With over eight years of recovery now, I can confidently say that the positive interactions and support I’ve received far outweigh any challenges. I love this organization, the location I visit has a chapel for anyone, it's a beautiful little room to pray or just meditate. They have a food pantry and free community meals are served seven days a week. I hear you seen jails better then this or been to better places blah blah blah well the outpatient teacher got me in for free three times and had saved my life they feed you great and let you smoke and also the nurses get me on meds I needed before I left for heroin then also got me in to a free 14 days and approved 14 more days to a impatient free of. Ost never paid a dime also gave me a great report to probation and communicated to probation good enough to keepe from getting sent back to prison. Gave me such good advice to repair me and my father's relationship and has helped me to become the man I am now to hear from my father I love you twice in one conversation over the the phone witch I never heard him ever say In life and also I still have a great relationship with my family if you aint made it past the first hallway it's cause you didn't wanna be sober. I stayed at Hope Haven a few months ago. It's a smaller home like environment. The treatment schedule is pretty relaxed, you'll have some downtime especially on weekends. Most staff were great, some not too much but that's how it is everywhere. You get to go to the YMCA twice a week and also have fun fridays like bowling. You are also able to attend outside meetings. The food is great, the coach there cares about people and makes tons of extras. They also have art therapy and yoga twice a week. Overall it was a good experience.
The downsides were having to walk a long ways to smoke, and not getting very many times to do so. Also it's nice in some ways that it's co ed, but some guys there definitely were more interested in chasing girls than recovery, which can hurt the dynamic. The chores aren't really distributed evenly, and some of the overnight crew also seemed more interested in the females there than doing their job well.

I've seen Dan Goodnature once (before meeting Lea) but he gave bad advice for my OCD. I asked him if the advice he provided might make the problem worse and offered my reasoning why and then he agreed and told me not to follow that advice. He was very nice though so I'd give him 3 stars. ★★★
I would give Ronald May negative stars if possible. He was rude, arrogant, argumentative, unprofessional and unhelpful. He ended my couple's therapy session early after yelling at my boyfriend. -★
