I started having sessions here earlier this year. Even though I no longer attend as I am seeking something a little closer to home. The staff and therapists are all wonderful. I was treated with respect and dignity. They also made me feel extremely at ease with any interaction. Highly recomended

I had an amazing experience for my first time at Barry County Mental Health. I was a bit skeptical going in because of some of the “bad” reviews, but I honestly did not encounter any poor service at all. Everyone was very welcoming, kind, and made me feel comfortable from the moment I walked in.
I came in for my intake appointment to receive therapy services and to see a psychiatrist, and I’m truly glad I did. If at any point someone doesn’t feel like the right fit for you, don’t be afraid to speak up—there are many caring professionals here who genuinely want to help.
I highly recommend this place and will absolutely continue coming here. Thank you for giving me hope and support on my mental health journey. 💙

I want to take a moment to recognize the team at the Battle Creek VA Medical Center.
Over the past year I decided to start using the VA for my healthcare. Like many veterans, I had heard different stories over the years, but my personal experience has been outstanding.
From the very first appointment the process was smooth and professional. I was called in at the exact time my appointment was scheduled. A nurse came in within a couple minutes and walked me through how the VA system works and the services available. Shortly after that my doctor came in, reviewed my medical history, and immediately started coordinating follow up care. I have had several knee surgeries over the years, so we scheduled MRIs to take a closer look.
What really stood out was how efficient everything was even before the appointment. The VA had already scheduled my blood work and knee X rays. I walked into the Battle Creek facility, signed in for blood work, waited about three minutes, and the nurse took care of everything in less than ten minutes. Then I walked down the hall for my X rays. Again, the entire process took less than ten minutes. Professional, friendly, and very efficient.
After my appointment they also scheduled a vision exam. That experience was just as smooth. Any medications I needed were mailed to my house within days, and my glasses arrived within a couple weeks.
The entire experience has been excellent, and I truly appreciate the people who make it happen every day. The team at the Battle Creek VA has been fantastic.
Veterans deserve great care, and my experience here has shown me that there are people working hard every day to deliver it.

This is a good place to be at if you need a temporary home the staff are welcoming and do care for the people. They actually do have help if needed. They serve meals and have a shower.

The haven has saved me on and off for 30 years, staff in the early years offered mats to me while under the influence, I understand the strict policy now no policy no order, Jamie and Todd the daytime shelter manager is more than fair, I was self medicating, I know what I am dealing with now, I have the right medication and dosage I am no longer dependent on illegal substance's, I'm six years clean and I'm very interested in giving back through volunteer work, thank you HAVEN OF REST...!

Maybe PCC is not the best for ADHD or autism, I don't know. But I found it to be a great place for NeuroPsych or neurocognitive testing.
Dr. Christopher Baker is excellent. He is personable, friendly, knows his stuff, and can explain things well. He listens and I found him easy to talk to. He answered all my questions fully. I recommend him to anyone.
Jess, the tech who did the actual tests, was great, too. She also knows her stuff and answers the questions she is allowed to. She is friendly and encouraging. Our short chit chats between tests were an anodyne to the intensity of the tests and I appreciated her openness and the wide range of topics she is conversant in.
I'm really glad I had the tests done at the Psychological Consult Center. Pine Rest is quality and the PCC lives up to that. I learned a lot about myself and will definitely return if needed. Thanks for everything!!

I was referred by my provider to the consultation center for psychological testing and felt like I received great care from the staff.
The front desk staff were very friendly and prompt, and the doctor and assistant were knowledgeable and kind.
My psychoanalysis when reviewed with my provider was deemed accurate and insightful, and I was provided with great recommendations for resources to look into.
While I can’t speak for other services provided, I would recommend this facility for anyone looking to have diagnostic testing performed.

First mental hospital i went to back in 2021 pretty big on coping, had a piano and punching bags on the b unit, the a unit sucked, they had the pills in a closet near the back in a lunch lady like room and decent outside stuff, i liked the board games activities and karaoke and movies. i rate it 10/10

The trauma classes literally changed my life. My s***idal tendencies are mostly gone. I can’t praise this place enough. You get out of it, what you put into it. I went in wanting help, wanting to get better. I went to every available class. It wasn’t perfect. It wasn’t easy. But, I am so thankful to the staff and especially the “teacher” of the trauma group. I’m a whole new woman.

The haven has saved me on and off for 30 years, staff in the early years offered mats to me while under the influence, I understand the strict policy now no policy no order, Jamie and Todd the daytime shelter manager is more than fair, I was self medicating, I know what I am dealing with now, I have the right medication and dosage I am no longer dependent on illegal substance's, I'm six years clean and I'm very interested in giving back through volunteer work, thank you HAVEN OF REST...!

I would like to thank Lisa, Larhonda, Becca, Paige, Myiesha, and the rest of the staff for all of their help and support during my stay at the In As Much House. I was staying there under the VIP Program.
I would also like to thank Mitch, Dre, and Chris for their help with getting what I needed to get into Silver Star for Veterans.
They were all very pleasant to work with and I would highly recommend it for the women and all Veterans. They can get the help with needed resources for locating housing and help for the Veterans to get in touch with resources from the VA.

The new management in the facility and the personality of therapists and security are the best parts of this program. The contracts that the state writes with the KPEP facilities is almost enough to make you want to commit suicide. Underfunded and given very little permission to actually make improvements to the place makes creating positive changes in this place almost impossible. Despite all of this positive things do happen and I would credit this to the new management and the personality of the therapists and security who in my opinion entered the job for the correct reason.

You get out what you put in. I’ve done therapy for many years and this facility is great. I’ve only seen my one provider, but I would believe that every other provider also offers exceptional care. Don’t read into all the bad reviews, if you are on the fence about trying them out I’d give them a chance.

I’ve been through 3 therapists at this clinic, they were very nice people. The service is great, the ladies at the desks are always kind and helpful.
Only things I would say is that sometimes the therapists go against your opinions and judgement and make you feel out of place or out of control. BUT all of my experiences here have been pleasant. Loved my past two therapists, Mattie DeBoe (no longer a therapist, moved to higher position) and Kelly anthi.
Compared to pine rests outpatient/inpatient care facility, this place is paradise. Their inpatient and outpatient facility has many many issues with the inpatient and resident facilities, the outpatient facilities are very helpful and welcoming, quite opposite of the inpatient.

i used to shelter here alot when i lived in grand rapids. i had a total of 3 stays here and they welcomed me with open arms each time. wonderful staff, wonderful living spaces, everything was great and i was always looked after and provided for. these people saved my life and i cant ever thank them enough. i do hope that someday in the near future i can come back and give my thanks in person. i love this place 💗
