Last Friday Dec 5, I had terrible stomach pains. I had to call my husband who was in the living room and ask for his help. I was in so much pain I couldn’t move. He called 911, first responder's were here within minutes, one happens to be our neighbor. They looked at the situation and called the ambulance. The medics (thank goodness one was female, since I was sitting on the toilet) came and waited until I was ready to see them and immediately checked everything. Got me in the ambulance and put in an iv and sat next to me and kept careful watch. I got to the ER and they were ready for me. They made sure I was comfortable, did lots of tests. Everyone was patient and kind. They decided to keep me overnight which actually turned into 2 nights. I was brought up to south 5th floor. I was in room S547. From the first nursing staff to the last, I was treated with respect, kindness and compassion. I wish I could remember everyone’s names. I’m not going to say the ones I remember as I don’t want to leave anyone out. From the first responders, the EMTs the Paramedics, the ER staff, Doctors,nursing staff, lab, food service and janitorial were professional, kind and compassionate. Honestly, this program along with the greatest staff, saved my life. Yes, I did do all the work, however, it was because of the genuine support and care given. My counselors pushed me to be accountable to myself and others.

My son is currently on his second stay at the Adolescent treatment program. Although we aren't happy that he had to return for more help, I knew that he was returning to a safe and nurturing environment where the staff would be courteous and respectful of his needs. He has a lot of anger, and has been working it out with people who understand his mental illness and genuinely care about his recovery. I am very happy that they encourage a high level of family participation in his recovery, as we all need to make changes for things to get better. I feel completely confident that my son is getting the best care possible, and I am provided with updates whenever I ask for them. I trust this facility with my son's life, and I'm not sure that there is a higher level of respect than that. Not everything is perfect - of course - but that's because we are all human.

I was here and loved everything about this place I'd recommend it to people that have the disease of addiction

Sobriety First Treatment Center is by far one of the best Treatment Centers i have ever been apart of. The community of Sobriety First is the longest standing community of people in recovery I have yet to see. The events they put on for clients and family have been one of the most essential parts of my recovery. I would and will recommend Sobriety First to anyone and everyone I know serious about finding a better way to live. Thank you all so much for being part of the recovery community in Minnesota.

I attended this treatment center 8 years ago and still think upon the things I learned during my time here. I am greatful this place was the first stepping stone in my recovery journey.

The best program I have ever been to. Kind, caring and professional. They provided everything I needed to start my road to recovery.

I started treatment for severe PTSD, anxiety, and depression during covid-19 lockdowns. I initially wanted to be evaluated for any diagnosis, and then the woman interviewing me recommended me to Ms. Morris. She saw me for maybe a year? Or a bit longer. Absolutely wonderful woman to work with, extremely thorough, and listened to what I needed to say. I really appreciate that the woman who saw me for my evaluation knew who to direct me to. I think that's an extremely important thing for healthcare providers to be able to do; acknowledge that their patient might not be someone they can treat, and then direct them to the right provider who can.

Awsome place they'll do whatever they can to provide anything a person needs, they are very good at keeping the community safe and have no problem weeding the ones who use on the property, it is a drug and alcohol free place. And they are very direct about this.

All of the nurses and doctors were very nice and helpful and the food was amazing. The only downside was the lack of programming on the weekends and no family visits due to covid.

Choosing to go to Newport Institute in Monticello, MN was one of the hardest — and best — decisions I’ve ever made. From the moment I arrived, I felt like I was in a space where healing was not only possible but expected. The staff truly care and go above and beyond to meet each person where they’re at, with compassion, structure, and an understanding that recovery isn't linear. What stood out to me the most was how personalized everything was. The treatment wasn’t cookie-cutter. My team actually listened — to my story, my needs, and even the things I wasn’t able to say yet. From individual therapy and group work to experiential therapies and life skills, every piece felt intentional and supportive. The environment itself also contributed so much to my healing. It’s peaceful, clean, and feels more like a safe home than a hospital. I also formed some of the most meaningful connections with peers — people who understood what I was going through and were walking beside me in the journey. Of course, healing doesn’t end when you leave, but Newport gave me tools, insight, and strength that I still carry with me. I walked out with more self-awareness, better coping strategies, and, most importantly, hope. If you or someone you love is struggling, I truly believe Newport can be a life-changing place!

I've been there to ask questions about a sociology assignment I was working on a post college advanced age , sociology assignment. They were helpful and professional.

At Maple Lake, they have nice staff who are easygoing. After I graduated from the program, I was a renewed person with the desire to live clean. Thank you all for everything you did for me while I was there.

I don’t know why all the negative reviews or what happened to MLRC since my I stayed here but I just celebrated 22 years clean and could not have done it without my 7mnths here. We had brotherhood, my counselor Chris believed in me helped me get set up for when I would be leaving and go back home to NY. I owe my recovery and success in life to this facility.

I was in this place for around 3-5 months. I experienced lotta things and have been to many treatments before and l have never actually seen workers care bout they clients like these workers do. I seen lotta guys talk bad about stuff cause they don’t get their way. I really thought l didn’t learned nothing from this place but l actually did. I got put into the situations of using again and yes l relapse but l was also able to stop from letting myself go to deep into addiction cause of the skills l learned from this place. You can’t really get help and better your self if you ain’t really want the help to better yourself. I miss this place place and the nice & funny stuff. My fav stuff was always Paul😃this a good place but l keep seeing angry people commenting bad bout this place and tbh l think they just doing that cause they didn’t get their way😅oh and btw lm 8 months sober now & also l wanna thank Ashley and everyone in this place that helped and thought me the skills l needed to maintain sober🙂l hope everyone is doing good👍
