My teen incurred multiple terrifying and alienating experiences to their birthmother during her pregnancy. It was a closed adoption and their adoptive Daddy died of cancer when she was 4. I just returned from our first parent child retreat at Calo. Our adopted child has dual diagnoses and primarily RAD- reactive attachment disorder and has been at Calo for two months. The retreats are quarterly. This retreat reinforced that my child is in the absolutely right place. Not only was the retreat very well thought out and executed but seeing how loving and friendly the staff are to the students made every parent there feel so secure in their decision to have placed their child at Calo. You know it's crazy how everybody is hating on Piney. I was there 3 years ago. When I was 14, and while things would get difficult, I NEVER saw a staff member be legit disrespectful to ANY resident. I was there for almost a year, and honestly it was the best thing that could have ever happened to me. Because if I wasn't sent to Piney/Perimeter, I wouldn't even be writing this. The staff mean well, and the girls that I met there, they were great girls, but they were just going through things. Like ALL of us do!. In fact, I still keep in contact with some of the amazing people that I have met while I was there. 3 years later, and STILL GOING STRONG. Just because your kids have a bad experience there, then they probably should try to act better. Because I know for a fact, that I am not the only one that Piney changed for the better. I'm currently a senior, and I'm going on to get my master's in Psychology to help people just like I was helped when I was a resident there almost 3 years ago. Also, A LOT of residents were known to make false accusations against staff members because they told them that they couldn't do something. Just saying. Piney changed my life for the better, and if you're children and you truly wanted the help that they offered, you would honestly be in a lot better place. Just saying..

My mom went in last Tuesday and just got out today. The entire time she was there i could not of asked for better treatment for her and how I was treated. Sometimes they were a little slow getting to her but it was because they were so busy. I would absolutely have her go there again if she needed a hospital. Such caring and kindness were shown the whole time. Yes there's always a couple people who don't have the best bedside manner but they're few and far between.

Friendly staff who actually returned my call and promptly were able to get me scheduled. I ended up not needing their services and when I called to cancel they were even more polite than before. I had called to approximately four other businesses that claimed to provide the same service, only one other place answered their phone with no appointments available for three weeks. Another place did finally call me back days later however. I would definitely recommend checking these guys out first and save yourself a goose chase. Thanks again!
