The front reception desk team is friendly , attentive and helpful. I have never felt so seen , welcomed and accepted. The NP I saw was so down to earth and understanding. My therapist was genuine and I truly felt heard. After a horrible experience with another facility with Burrell I came here, and I’m so glad I did. Courtney , Hannah and Tanner are all amazing team members here. I’m very sad to be moving again, and leaving their care. But I won’t forget the kindness and generosity I experienced here. Thank you all so much for what you do. I wish I could send everyone here. So warm , welcoming and inviting. Snacks , water and charging stations and vending machines in the lobby really make a difference for people who are waiting on rides or waiting in between appointments. I can’t say enough good things. Thanks again y’all.

Helped me when I was deep in my addiction to see the light and life was worth living... They saved my life... Helped me get sober and taught me skills to cope with the stressors of life rather than drinking and drugging... Help me get back on my feet and get my life back thru counseling and meds and a handful of resources... Got me on Medicaid and some meds to help with my craving and with draws... We made a plan to set some goals now I'm working and staying at a sober living house with hopes of being in my own place sooner than later... As a fellow mental health therapist, I recently had the distinct privilege of touring this Embark Behavioral Health campus, and I was genuinely impressed by what I saw and learned. My visit included an in-depth look at the residential hall, the impressive indoor gym, and the welcoming dining area, giving me a comprehensive understanding of their program and facilities. From the moment I stepped onto the campus, it was clear that Embark places a high priority on creating a well-maintained and therapeutic environment. The grounds were immaculate, and the buildings themselves gave a sense of calm and care, which is so crucial for individuals in residential treatment. The residential hall felt genuinely comfortable and safe, with spaces designed to promote both individual reflection and community building. The indoor gym was particularly noteworthy. It's clear they understand the vital role physical activity plays in mental well-being, and having such a well-equipped, accessible space indoors is a significant asset, especially during inclement weather. The dining area was also inviting, suggesting that mealtimes are viewed not just as sustenance, but as opportunities for connection and routine. Beyond the physical space, what truly stood out was the professionalism and knowledge of the staff I encountered. Everyone I met was incredibly nice, welcoming, and clearly dedicated to their roles. Their insights into the program were thorough and demonstrated a deep understanding of the complex needs of the adolescents they serve. It was evident that Embark is committed to evidence-based practices and a holistic approach to mental health treatment. Learning more about their specific program components, their focus on individualized care, and their commitment to family involvement further solidified my positive impression. As a mental health therapist, I recognize the immense importance of these elements in achieving lasting positive outcomes for young people. If I were ever in a position where I needed to send a child to a residential facility for mental health treatment, I would feel incredibly comfortable and confident considering Embark in Independence as a top option. Their well-maintained campus, dedicated and knowledgeable staff, and comprehensive program truly set a high standard for residential care.

Activities were good, I would like to have 2 family sessions. Just found that in day 2 we were able to open more and would have liked more family therapy. Food was great. Emotional couple of days which is exhausting, thank you staff.

Instead, with the help of the incredible staff, I proved myself wrong. There are so many people who made a lasting impact on my recovery journey that it's impossible to thank them all enough. Tina was one of my favorite staff members. She has a wonderful way of blending learning, healing, and creativity. As an artist, I especially appreciated being able to work on arts and crafts while participating in group discussions. More importantly, she is authentic, approachable, and genuinely cares about the members she works with. The wellness team was exceptional. Jake ("Coach") inspired me to make healthier choices, including eating more leafy greens. His workouts, boxing sessions, and wellness groups were challenging but somehow always fun. Moni kept us laughing while teaching us about posture, stretching, and acu-detox. Mia's yoga classes were wonderfully grounding and provided much-needed moments of peace and reflection. The nursing staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and compassionate. Harmony, for example, always managed to make me smile while ensuring I received excellent care. The MCS staff also went above and beyond. One day I asked where an office was located, and instead of simply pointing me in the right direction, a staff member personally walked me there despite it being on the opposite side of the building. That level of care and attentiveness was common throughout my stay. Lacie, Sherrie, Sherry, and the entire MCS team were exceptional, personable, and always willing to help. Tim deserves special recognition. On my first day, when I was nervous and uncertain, he noticed the dinosaurs on my shirt and struck up a conversation because I mentioned I loved dinosaurs. That small act immediately helped me feel comfortable and welcomed. Throughout my stay, he continued making dinosaur references that always brought a smile to my face and made Sana Lake feel a little more like home. Brittney's groups were consistently engaging and educational. I learned a tremendous amount from her. The same can be said for Bre, whose groups were equally valuable whenever I had the opportunity to attend them. Amanda always seemed to come through whenever help was needed, and Jo was a thoughtful listener who made people feel heard. One person who truly stood out was Stacie from the kitchen staff. I made a meaningful connection with her, and she frequently shared words of wisdom from across the lunch line that often arrived exactly when I needed them most. Faith was an absolute angel and helped guide me through many important concepts that strengthened my recovery. Chase also excelled at combining fun with learning and reminded us that sobriety doesn't mean life stops being enjoyable. Most importantly, every single staff member contributed to my recovery. Together, they helped me build a toolbelt full of practical skills, insights, and coping strategies that I will carry with me long after leaving Sana Lake. They created an environment where I felt supported, challenged, encouraged, and cared for. To anyone considering treatment: I arrived skeptical, resistant, and convinced I didn't belong here. I am leaving with gratitude, hope, and a stronger foundation for recovery than I ever thought possible. Thank you, Sana Lake. This program gave me so many tools to continue my recovery and maintain my sobriety. Anthony was my counselor and I truly loved him - the time, his patience, calm aura and knowing he truly cared about me. Beth and Sam were also very amazing and always well prepared. I'm a chronic relapser and have been to Valley Hope several times. My relapses had nothing to do with Valley Hope and the care they provided. It just wasn't my time yet. I love Atchison Valley Hope. The staff are A+. They genuinely care about the patients while there and after their discharge. I get calls from my counselors and case workers periodically just to see how I'm doing. It's more than collecting an insurance check with them. I finally took their advice and went to php and iop, in addition to an addiction counselor. I'm 65 years old and sober for the first time in a very long time. There's no treatment center that's going to keep you sober or drug free. It takes work, but at AVH they will provide a serious reboot for your future. Alec T.

I have done the program twice at mrc. The aftercare they have is one of a kind. The staff is amazing. There are far too many to list individually. It is truly the staff in the facilities that have kept me sober. The one huge thing I disagree with though is upper management. They have definitely become more about money than the patients. They only accept bcbs for insurance, so unless you have a lot of money, don't bother coming here. There is no breakfast to speak of. It is not about comfort I guess

I am currently in MRC’s Phase 2 program I have been through the 30 days in residential and 60 days in Phase 1 a structured sober living with peer support. The nurses and peer support were fantastic at detox always there is you need anything. Or just a shoulder to cry on. At phase 1 Tyler and Jermaine were awesome people to be around the peer support there. You could talk to them about anything and they drove us to meetings all around the metro. I am now living in one of the two phase 2 houses. I have a great job, that I love. Making rent every month and still saving at the same time because rent is so affordable. All in all I would recommend anyone to MRC including Tiger Woods

I am currently in MRCs phase 2 sober living, and i can honestly say that MRC saved my life. They introduced me to a community of people that i can connect with, that will help me stay sober long after i leave MRC! Most of the staff is in recovery themselves so they understand where we have been in early sobriety; as well as the kind of love and compassion that we need! They have choices of: a 30 day detox program and a 45 day mental health program to start. As well as continued treatment with sober living options to reintegrate back into society as a sober person! I love MRC they changed my life for the better!

Salvation Army when I went homeless after the military I didn’t know they had services for veterans like this. The KCVA helped to get into the Salvation Army. I had to stay here due to indifferences at my house. My stay was comfortable and peaceful. The other Veterans are kind. My case worker Irene was very hard on me at first lol! After I was admitted in she was kind and loved all of us. Integration was easy. Irene will help you get more % to help in your case. She is there for you. Use her and let her know how you feel. She has been working there for 15 years (KC,Kansas). What an accomplishment. There are others that work with Irene that are just as important to you. You have to do chores but they aren’t large duties. Roger will be on you. It’s good to clean your surroundings makes you feel good. Breakfast isn’t the greatest but, that will change. Yvette serves breakfast she has to have thick skin because she didn’t make the food. She has no control on what is being served. Be nice to her always and your days will go better. Lunch and Dinner are more filling. Blake is one of the cooks trying to make new desserts and new meals. There is a “suggestion box” downstairs so fill it out. They have snack later on in the night. I met Tom from Salvation Army very stand up person he is kind and cordial. They have a gym for basketball and a small workout room. The Veterans I met are my forever brothers. I will stay in touch after I leave. Thank you Salvation Army for helping me find my way.

Current Inpatient resident who would like to say I came with much trepidation and anxiety. All of which I was able to shed easily on account of the staff and friendly fellow residents. Not in any small part because of Kerry (think I spelled that right) in detox, because she is @$$@ ing hilarious, and made me feel a lot better. I mean, guys, it’s rehab.. ;) But this is a very good rehab. Admins listen. EDIT: It took guys.. It really took this time. I shed the $&!t colored goggles. And the world is vivid.. bright.. and while i honestly believed I'd be dead by now... In reality I'm happier than I think I ever have been. I couldn't see it back then.
