I was on the tail end of the flu and got sick because of my anxiety and she was there and helped me same with the nurses and we played card games and talked A LOT she really needs her own mental health days and genuinely loved my stay because of her. Bought pizza for the unit and everything. The nurses were great one bought ice cream and the other understand my anxiety and why I was so sick and Megan with my meds she knew what I needed and how I could take them. Emma(Emanuel) was genuinely the funniest and sweetest friend there (another counselor) we played card games and btw I taught them all king corners. But he was super awesome super nice. When it was night he closed my door so it was just a crack because the loud noises of walking and the lights in the hallways. He made sure it was a safe environment for me. Now onto the actual mental health stuff I had a good time with the groups mainly anxiety made it bad but they were definitely fun we did a lot of art I painted my nails and the staff in the activities room let me play my type of music heavy metal. So definitely great. I met some awesome people won't say any last names but Connor and Ava and adysan made my stay so much better because they had similar stuff going on and I could really connect with them. I hope Jackie sees this cus y'all did really help me out cus I needed this escape. Thank you so much. God Damn 5 months ago i just got discharged from this place yesterday and it was the best experience i have ever had, this place has helped with my anxiety so so much and the staff are so incredibly nice and supportive and helpful. i was on the pierce unit and i absolutely loved everyone that was there and all of the people i met there, and i absolutely loved everything about it i was honestly sad to leave because i made friends and the staff were so supportive of me and genuinely cared about how i felt, and i got used to it very quickly and the people that are saying that this place is bad and saying that they made you sleep in the cafe and wouldn’t let you contact anyone are just lying to you because that is not what happens at all and they take very good care of you and actually care about you and about you getting better. thank you so so much to all the staff that works there (in the pierce unit especially) i love all the staff (sarah,jill,dady,tracy,megan,duncan,sean,wil,philip, ari,rodrigue,thaly,alanna, i literally love you guys thank you for helping me) Olivia 10 months ago

I'm actually creating an updated resource sheet, which is why I ended up on here haha. But I figured while Im here, I should post a review about my own experience. I went to Granite House back around 2020. My experience was great, I definitely had some ups and downs however the downs were 100% self induced. Although the staff and the group of people I was within were all incredible- I just wasn't ready yet at that time. I went to about half a dozen treatment programs throughout my addiction, but to this day I tell people "if you have medicaid and you're looking to go to rehab in NH - Granite House the best place to go." It is my first choice for referral out of all the treatment centers in the state! Its obviously been a while since I was there, 7 years or so, but I have had clients tell me about their recent experiences and they all say the same thing " Its like a big family. " I couldn't agree more! Thank you Granite House for your continued dedication to those who are in need of a safe, caring and trustworthy treatment center during their most vulnerable days. New Hampshire has lost a lot of good, helpful, and solid places over the past several years but to see you still standing and providing people with treatment is truly deeply appreciated!!! * If you're reading this - and are trying to figure out if this is the right choice... as someone who statistically was not supposed to and never should have made it out... my advice is ; Ask yourself what do you have to loose by trying? By showing up and giving yourself the chance? Compared to ... if you stay..? And don't even give it a try? We do recover - It takes time and its not easy - but nothing in life worth having, ever comes easy! To keep it short, I left detox and went to another facility that was extremely strict about AA and pushed it in a way that didn’t work for me. When I expressed that, it became an issue, so I chose to leave.. leaving was difficulty the other facility made me walk miles and miles before allowing myself a cell phone and left my stranded in the middle of nowhere. I got the courage after leaving to find another facility and CHOOSE NOT TO GO BACK TO THE LIFESTYLE I ONCE HAD. Finding Mayflower made all the difference. I appreciated that they allowed a more balanced, normal routine outside of meetings—you could relax, watch TV, do crafts, play basketball, and still focus on recovery. They also offered a different approach to sobriety that felt more supportive and personalized. What really stood out was the medical staff—they were always there when I needed them and made me feel comfortable throughout the process. This was my first time getting sober, and I’ve stayed sober ever since because of this place.. great food as well. I’m so thankful for this place because without them I don’t know where I would be today. If one place isn’t a fit for you in recovery please find the next place and do not give up! Halcyon Caskey 2 years ago I cannot say enough good about Aware Recovery Care going back to February 2023. My first involvement was with their In-Home Detox team consisting of RN Jenn Aguire and nurses Tabitha and Krystal who came to my home for at least seven straight days to get me detoxed. This was critical to me as at the time I was unwilling to enter in residence detox having had a negative experience in the past. I credit them with saving my life. Their kind and compassionate care showed me that there was indeed some hope for me going forward. Following detox Aware counselors Sam Hayes and Amber Gelinas continued home visits working very closely with me in keeping me on the road to sobriety. I also received monthly assessments by an RN and a session with a Psychiatrist. After six months my insurance lapsed but thankfully I was eligible to enter their Alumni Program consisting of multiple Zoom meetings during the week with Aware professionals. In addition they also host various events in different locations with other Alumni of the program. You always feel that Aware is right there with you every step of the way. I could carry on much longer but let me finish by saying that I consider the Aware professionals I have dealt with to be more than just counselors but as friends as well. I am welcome back in the lives of my children and most importantly my Grandchildren. On November 24 I will be collecting my Nine Month sobriety chip at my AA Home Group. It’s a detox not day camp. If you are truly being sick and tired of being sick and tired and you want help getting clean and sober I would suggest going to Farnum. I was on the second floor and The heat was difficult but the wonderful employees got me fans and helped me as I withdrew from medications. July 6th it was decided that I needed a pacemaker and I was taken to the Cath lab to be prepped. My heart had other ides and I went into VT and was successfully resuscitated by CPR and shock. Taken to ICU, I once again coded and was brought back. I’m grateful to nurses Joanne, Megan, Ken, Meg, Eryn and the other angels that were instrumental in saving my life. I was told it was Torsades de pointes, something rare. I hope they all know how much I appreciate their care. But I must absolutely shout out to Dr. Pourati and his team who carried me through with humor and compassion. John (who I called bumpers), Brian, who kept me calm throughout, Kevin and his banter, and Heather at my left shoulder reassuring me that all would be well. And of course my cardiologist, Issac Pourati. He is my hero. I’m sure there are others that were involved and to all of you, thank you for your dedication and professionalism. I was always treated with respect and made to feel safe. AJH is extremely fortunate to have all of you as employees. I’m at rehab now and feeling good. There is no quick or painless way to get clean so it's going to be a miserable time but so worth it. I loved the staff, liked the food. There was a woman cook/chef idk but she was dynamite! Especially with what they have to work with. Speaking of, the staff has us to work with. Miserable,suicidal,mental cases! Not the most pleasant people at times. Ive moved and had to switch clinics multiple times over that period and can easily say that they all have their positives and negatives to them. I’ve found that most of the negatives only feel that way because as addicts we are typically resistant to big changes in the way we have to live whether it be getting up early in the day, Keeping required counseling appointments or group attendance where it should be (100% me. Sorry ctc 😅), or not being able to infinately increase our dose at an unchecked speed. I can 100% say that Manchester CTC has an amazing staff. My favorite of any clinic I’ve been a patient to. I havent met anybody here that would not move mountains to help us whenever humanly possible. My case worker kim spent months with me last year helping me to find and sign up for an impatient program that fit my specific needs and never once got impatient or frustrated when I pushed it out further and further to avoid going. I also recently have been lucky enough to meet the director here named amy. This woman is a godsend!! I live about 30 minutes from CTC and my insurance had cancelled my medical rides temporarily waiting on paperwork that could not be filled out in time and amy reached out to me and has ordered me uber rides to the clinic and back home twice now while waiting for this situation to be fixed. Also went out of her way to find a solution for my paperwork just to make sure that i would be able to keep coming to the clinic and stay healthy. From the security guard outside, the women at the front dest, nursing staff, to the farthest hidden counselors office In the back of CTC Ive only ever come across people that genuinely want to help you as much as possible and are always happy / polite / encouraging.
