Lebanon, NH | Dartmouth Hitchcock Psychiatric in Lebanon, New Hampshire is a place where you can get outpatient support that meets substance use concerns with compassion and clinical care. Their experienced staff are available to listen carefully and offer space for honest conversations about what you’re experiencing. This is a setting where your concerns are | Treatments Programs Payment Options | This was the first adult psych trip I’d had since turning 18. Going in I was very nervous as my last visit to a behavioral health center for minors was unpleasant to say the least. I can say today though that this was the most comfortable stay I’ve had in a psychiatric unit and I left feeling like my problems mattered while I was there.
I was able to meet with a team of training med students and professional psychiatrists at least once a day with vitals taken daily and medication given daily if prescribed. I feel like I understand my mental health a lot better through the optional group therapies which allowed for open discussion between a therapist and all the patients. You were able to see both a professional and personal solution to different problems, such as; coping with grief or cognitive distortions, while sharing your own story if you choose to do so.
Often nights the other patients and I would gather around the table and play games or watch TV together while having conversation. The nurses did not specify bedtime or wake time (though most slept before 11 PM and woke for breakfast at 8 AM willingly) making the experience very personalized.
Upon leaving I was also provided with a bridge program to meet with a psychiatrist on unit until I can be transferred to an outpatient provider to continue my meds. I was also given written instructions on how to fill out the new patient intake forms at the care center nearest to me making me able to attain a primary care physician!
I left there having made a few friends who never failed to lift my spirits or offer a helping hand when I was having a bad day. Overall, I feel better equipped to care for myself both physically and mentally when it had overwhelmed me so much just a week prior.
Thank you to the whole team and a special thanks to nurses Melissa and Allison, Ashley, and Dr. Schwartz. These were some members of the staff who left a lasting impression on me going above and beyond to make me feel comfortable in my stay.

It was the hardest decision his dad and I ever made but it turned out to be the best one we did for our son. It was not easy. But the staff and the administration were very good at keeping us informed and helping us navigate our way through it and how to support our son, how to take care of ourselves and also how to parent in a different way. We tried so many things for three years before. But ultimately his world got so small, he wouldn’t go to school, or listen to us. It wasn’t easy, but he came back from Mountain Valley more confident, thoughtful, respectful, emotionally aware with skills to help himself and he is polite. I have been to Mountain Valley twice, once at freshly 16 and again at 17 after a series of troublesome events occurred in my life, and I owe so much to this place for being an environment that empowered me, loved me, and provided me with the resources and support that I needed to get up on my feet and start living. The staff cared for me unconditionally. They were there with me through some of the arguably hardest days of my life, celebrated my successes and pushed me to take part in the difficult things they knew I could do, while also remaining consistent support systems even when I didn’t listen. The milieu was truly like my family away from home— the support given and received between Mountain Valley residents is an indescribably beautiful thing— and at MV I found a sense of community unlike anything I’d ever experienced before. With so many horrible places out there, I will never be able to express how thankful I am for Mountain Valley and what they do. I am forever grateful to the place that helped save my life.

Over the years, I have referred many families to MVTC. From their first point of contact with Everett, through their entire treatment stay, the client and family are treated with the utmost care and compassion. Their clinical team is highly skilled and always finds the time to collaborate with other providers. I trust MVTC to hold families through an incredibly vulnerable time and to approach each young person with respect, warmth, and a deep understanding of their struggles. Families often share that their experience has been life-changing.

Averte clinical staff are kind, compassionate and responsive. They truly care about the people in need of their services as well as their family members. As soon as I reached out for help, Steve called me within an hour and then was planning a visit within days to assess the situation (which was a 2.5+ hour drive). The team wraps their services around the person in need until they are stable. Amy, the Clinical Program Coordinator even took time from her vacation to talk to me prior to my family members discharge. That kind of support is invaluable during a time of crisis stabilization and the level of support is reassuring for everyone involved. One should never hesitate to reach out for help and if you are lucky, the help will come from Averte.

A little over five years ago, my twin sister was caught in the depths of addiction. She was so lost and broken that I could barely recognize her as the sister I once knew.
Her path to recovery started at Canterbury Behavioral Health, and I can’t fully put into words what this place has meant for her—and for all of us. Because of the compassionate care and steady support she found there, I got my best friend back.
Today, she stands on the brink of six years of sobriety, dedicating her life to lifting others who face addiction and mental health battles. I am endlessly proud of her courage, her perseverance, and the person she is today!
Thank you, Canterbury Behavioral Health, for saving my sisters life. I honestly thought we would never get her back she was so far gone, you gave her a second chance at life! If you have a loved one battling addiction or mental health struggles, I wholeheartedly encourage you to reach out to CBH. It has transformed our lives, and I am forever grateful.

I went to Antrim House about five months ago, and I can honestly say it changed my life. When I arrived, I was in a really unstable place and didn’t know what my future would look like. The staff treated me with respect, patience, and real compassion from day one.
What stood out most was how much they genuinely cared — not just about getting me through the program, but about helping me build a foundation for long-term sobriety. The structure, accountability, and support made a huge difference for me. I learned how to be honest, how to take responsibility, and how to start creating stability in my life.

I think the staff does a great job at New Season Concord, N. H. I constantly hear people talking bad about the clinic, and just putting it down. My thoughts would be that more then likely they probably would never open such a place of there wasn't proof of it working. Or should I say, if the success rate wasn't there. Cuttingsville, VT | Spring Lake Ranch is a drug rehab center that offers a very wide range of services to adults living in the Cuttingsville, Vermont, area. They offer residential treatment for those suffering from drug and alcohol addictions, as well as co-occurring conditions, which can include depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and more. This ra | Treatments Programs Payment Options | Spring Lake Ranch saved my life. No, this is not an overstatement. Not only that, but it saved my relationship with my family. To give you some backstory, I had spent 6 years battling deep depression, OCD, anxiety, and suicidal ideation. I was very resistant to doing any sort of inpatient/residential treatment; despite efforts from my parents and therapists, I refused. And if you know anything about treatment, you know that you must be willing to receive help to get anything out of it. It took living on my own, not working, not in school, having hit yet another wall after trying IV ketamine therapy, for me to push past any pride and fear and admit that something needed to change. I did a Google search trying to find somewhere, anywhere to go that wasn’t a white wall institution, for the only thing that briefly brought me out of the dark hole I was living in was being outside with my dog.
I found SLR, in addition to Gould, interested in their therapeutic community-based approach to treatment, and decided to take a tour of both. After a disappointing visit to Gould, I knew it wasn’t the place for me, a conclusion they came to as well. My dad and I then drove to Vermont and met with Kevin to tour the ranch. The atmosphere was lively, the people were friendly, and you couldn't differentiate who was a resident and who was staff. Though still trepidatious, later that day, my dad and I went back to our Airbnb and decided to move forward with it. The ranch isn't a traditional treatment place, and you can see that with every ranch holiday, as many former residents come back to visit, and the ranch welcomes them with open arms. I met some of my best friends and had the most life-changing experiences (for example, assisting in 3 piglet births as someone from a city who had only seen farm animals from a distance). This isn’t to say I didn’t have hard times, there were many instances where I fell back, but for the first time I had a community and net of support that helped me get back on my feet, and eventually gave my the courage and confidence to realize I could succeed on my own, but also that I wasn’t alone, and asking for help is a strength, not a weakness. During my time at the ranch, I was on a farm crew (though occasionally on gardens to help decorate birthday/goodbye cakes). It pushed me mentally and physically, and with each day on crew, I felt stronger and more capable. I also completed a mural during my stay, a project the ranch supported me with (along with Carl and Olivia, both of whom I attribute so much of my personal and creative growth to). I got to the ranch in March 2024 and left in April 2025. Some stay shorter, some longer, but the year I spent at the ranch wasn’t one I look back on as a “year I lost in treatment”, but the year that made me WANT to live again.

His Mansion is a work based, live-in program that teaches how to overcome addictions by fully relying on God. I commited myself to growth and change and I have been clean and sober since becoming a resident on November 20, 2023.
During the year, I learned to cast all my worries upon the Lord and rely on Him to give me strength. I faced the hurts of my past, rededicated my life to Christ, and was baptized in June of 2024. Before graduating in October of 2024, I learned patience and received joy that no one can take from me.
The staff and servant leaders truly care for each of the residents and pour out their love in all that they do. Their time and energy is truly dedicated to seeing broken lives be restored through the hope of Jesus Christ!

This isn’t a bad long term rehabilitation program if you are looking for a program that is Bible based rather than Bill Wilson’s “big book”, but it’s by no means perfect despite all the 5 star ratings. Granite Recovery might be better for long term sobriety. It has a higher success rate. In all honesty, I did graduate but I probably should have been hospitalized for exhaustion afterward. You have to work really hard here- both physically and emotionally. Keep an open mind but don’t expect a happy ever after- it isn’t for everybody.

The experience I had at the Riverbank House changed my life forever in so many ways. I arrived at RBH in February 2016 and begrudgingly agreed to stay for 28 days, I ended up living there for almost 4 years because I just didn’t want to leave. The bonds and friendships I formed there still continue to this day. I will forever be grateful for the opportunity at a new life, and how to truly enjoy that life, that was provided to me by the Riverbank. My time at RBH was filled with compassion and laughter and memories I will always cherish. I’ve made a lot of mistakes in my life, but going to the Riverbank was certainly not one of them. I am grateful for every single me ever of the Riverbank brotherhood that I got to know during my time there, even that guy with the red beard.
