I arrived at Plymouth House in March 2025. I didn’t know what to expect. The staff are amazing, the food is great, and best of all you work on yourself. They are supportive through your whole stay and your team guides you there the process. I also had an aftercare person who helped me transition to a IOP and sober house to embark on my journey for long term sobriety. Plymouth house is a great Place to start and they are always there to help.

My adult son and I did exhaustive research on community-based residential treatment plans that could capably provide applicable programming and psychiatric care, while delivering a clear step down plan. Averte checked all the boxes I loved the fact that Steve started our discussion from a position of "how can we help your son ? " , Rather than "what's wrong with him".If you are seeking adult community-based residential treatment, you should definitely give consideration to Averte.

Averte clinical staff are kind, compassionate and responsive. They truly care about the people in need of their services as well as their family members. As soon as I reached out for help, Steve called me within an hour and then was planning a visit within days to assess the situation (which was a 2.5+ hour drive). The team wraps their services around the person in need until they are stable. Amy, the Clinical Program Coordinator even took time from her vacation to talk to me prior to my family members discharge. That kind of support is invaluable during a time of crisis stabilization and the level of support is reassuring for everyone involved. One should never hesitate to reach out for help and if you are lucky, the help will come from Averte.

Canterbury Behavioral Health saved my life. I stayed here for four months: 6 weeks in residential, 5 weeks in PHP, and 6 weeks in IOP. I do not regret a single moment of it.All of the staff here are incredibly supportive and kind, even in the worst of moments. I certainly lost my cool more than a few times, but the staff was always there to pick me back up. They never once abandoned me or made me feel anything less than their number one priority.Danielle was one of the most supportive staff here, picking me up during my many panic attacks. She was always there for me and put me first even when she was overworked, exhausted, or extra busy. Alongside her was a wonderful team of equally-capable staff including Ava, Lisa, Kyleigh, Jimmy, Bob, Victoria, Emily, and Corinne. The tender care and support of all these people are a primary reason why I can call myself both sober and mentally stable once again. I couldn t have graduated without such an amazing team. Chelsea, Jen, and Jenn were also wonderful supports, being in no small part responsible for building me up into the incredibly confident person that I graduated as.It is no exaggeration to say that this place saved my life. Even with the few blemishes and areas it could improve, this place should be the standard for mental health treatment nationwide. I cannot recommend this place enough.

I was referred to NFA for their IOP program after completing a PHP with Banyan Philadelphia. I highly recommend for anyone who needs help with their mental health. Living in the sober house in Concord and attending daily groups helped me get back to being human. I enjoyed the staff and group programs. My therapist was excellent and I felt heard and well cared for. The Psych provider might the best provider I ve seen thus far in all my treatment. After 54 days with NFA I am more confident, stable, and for the first time in a long time- hopeful.

My daughter went through the Mountain Valley treatment program for her anxiety. Mountain Valley provides excellent, evidenced based treatment for anxiety and OCD to teens and young adults ages 13-21 in a beautiful, warm setting. The staff: directors, clinicians, and residential staff, are intelligent, skilled, compassionate, and wise. Not only do they provide great treatment in the form of exposure response treatment, CBT, DBT, and ACT; they explore the larger life journey, values, and meaning for each resident. They connect the residents to nature in their beautiful NH setting, and on their farm with animals. They have a wonderful chef and integrate healthy food and life style choices. They have a three phase treatment structure that aligns the treatment process with the idea of a heroic journey, and have ceremonies to mark entering each phase (a fire ceremony and an ice bath ceremony). They foster an atmosphere among the residents that allow them to develop community with others and deep connections. My daughter not only learned the tools to address her anxiety that she will carry forward, she learned to connect with herself and her values, and to tolerate her distress and challenges with courage. In addition, they offer a parent support and education program that allows us to learn about anxiety, supports us, and gives us the tools to parent our children with significant anxiety. They also offer a transitions program for the residents after they leave to bridge the return to their lives at school, home, and in their communities, My daughter s experience at Mountain Valley was life changing and healing. I recommend it without reservation for kids with severe anxiety and OCD, and am so grateful for her and our experience at Mountain Valley.

Mountain Valley has truly been a lifesaver to our family! It is a special place made up of special people who have both the expertise and the caring hearts to support both their residents and their families during a very difficult time. They were able to turn my daughter s bright light back on that had been dimmed due to anxiety and depression. They educated her to help her understand what she was going through, gave her coping skills for when she experiences her highs and lows, and helped her to learn strategies and routines that allow her to maintain a healthier lifestyle. They also helped and supported our family to learn what we could do to better support her. In connecting with the other residents and forming incredibly close friendships, for the first time, our daughter didn t feel alone in what she was going through. The therapists and staff at Mountain Valley are unmatched in the way they care about and connect with the residents. My daughter really trusted them and finally had hope that she could get better. I wish everyone in the world could experience Mountain Valley, because being so seen, loved, accepted, heard, and genuine is so rare in this world.Every single person at Mountain Valley is changing the world. I am a patient with full medical coverage at White River Junction VA. They are the nicest people! The could have not have done more for me in the three years I have been going there. I am currently rated near 100% disabled by the VA. I go here for all my medical needs. Recently, I had surgery at White River VA and the experience was outstanding. The surgeon was excellent and the operation a success. They have support programs that suffer only because veterans fail to sign up for them. I encourage you, the veteran and your family or advocate to seek out the people who can advise you on their wide number of programs for your physical, spiritual and behavioral health well being. These folks are here to serve and help you and they are excellent!

Slowly but surely the staff and camaraderie between the residence help show me a a whole new way of life. Helped show me a new way of thinking an a whole new way of looking at the world. The experience I had at the Riverbank House changed my life forever in so many ways. I arrived at RBH in February 2016 and begrudgingly agreed to stay for 28 days, I ended up living there for almost 4 years because I just didn t want to leave. The bonds and friendships I formed there still continue to this day. I will forever be grateful for the opportunity at a new life, and how to truly enjoy that life, that was provided to me by the Riverbank. My time at RBH was filled with compassion and laughter and memories I will always cherish. I ve made a lot of mistakes in my life, but going to the Riverbank was certainly not one of them. My daughter (age 14) was at Summit Sept-Dec this 2024. It is an excellent program and I highly recommend it!There is a lot of negative press surrounding these types of programs and we were nervous sending our daughter, but I can assure you that this program is amazing and very professionally run.The kids and adults gain incredible insight into their old patterns and behaviors. Ultimately, the kids learn how to navigate old and new relationships, how to move forward and how to make healthy, appropriate choices. The therapist my daughter worked with was incredible and very talented. We met with her once a week as well, so we were kept informed about our daughter's progress. The parent coach that we worked with was also excellent and very professional. This program is unique because it is more of a hybrid program that offers wilderness therapy combined with education, so the children do not fall behind in school.Summit is a top notch program and it provided the reset we all needed!

I stayed here in the 90 s and it was life changing for me. I can see a lot has changed, but the program s mission remains the same. I am now a therapist myself, and I have never forgotten how SMI helped me through one of the hardest times in my life! I highly recommend for those motivated to do the work necessary to overcome their MH challenges. I never regretted the time I spent here! When I left, I was totally prepared for the world and a long career of helping others like me!

We sent our daughter to Spruce several years ago. At the time she was struggling with her mental health and we were at a loss on how to best help her through this difficult process. We had several years of ups and downs, she was not making any significant process and was struggling on a daily basis. Things started to change at Spruce. We noticed a our daughter was more engaged, more willing to talk and started to become happy again. This has been a very long process but we feel that Spruce gave us a solid foundation upon which to move forward. My daughter is currently a college senior, graduating next semester, living independently, and successful. She made life long friends at Spruce and we are very grateful for the staff and leadership.

I've worked professionally with Spruce Mountain Inn for several years and have visited the program on several occasions. I'm always impressed by how clean and beautiful the physical plant is, and I'm even more impressed by the clinicians and staff. I highly recommend Spruce Mountain Inn for anyone seeking residential support for young adults struggling with their mental health.

Went march-april of 2019 fresh out of 6 month jail bid. Couldn't ask for a better group of people all around. I was genuinely accepted and treated with dignity by both residents and staff. 28 days flew by and I was reminded of how |enjoyable life can still be even if you are sober. They let us smoke cigarettes on the patio outside and the food was outstanding and many times restaurant quality. I'll always have fond memories of this place. I can only hope that those that I met there are winning their battle with addiction or at the very least not giving up. They were all good souls that deserve happiness just as much as anyone else.
