I had a great experience at the Forester Center as Tarji Littlejohn is not only a fantastic therapist, but she’s also a very considerate friend. She made sure that I had the right resources and she was always available when I needed. Her group was great but the individual therapy that I had with her was even more meaningful and really helped me open my eyes to the problems that I have and that I’ve continued to get over. I can't really give a rating, since I haven't used their services. I was there to photograph the property for a client who was involved with building the project. But during my experience, the staff I met were very nice. The property is clean and well maintained. And it has a lot of cool amenities and beautiful landscaping.

Hello my name is Jackson. I went here from February 2024 - May 2024. And again August 2024 - September 2024 | This place is really what you make it. It’s a truly unique experience that you won’t get to experience ever again. The campus is super cool and refreshing. They have a barn with horses, a mule, and a donkey. They have a pretty cool ropes course, a big house that you share with 13 other kids and staff, a van and a car that they take you to places in (AA, NA, Activities), and 2 pretty cool chefs who make surprisingly good food for a treatment center. I had the pleasure of working with Valerie. I’ve worked with so many therapists over the years but she truly sticks out from all of them. She’s incredibly nice and very good at her job. Although when I came back home after my first trip here I ended up falling back into my same habits but worse. Which resulted in my coming back to foothills for a second time and wilderness after that. This is not foothills fault for not giving me enough resources. It’s my fault for not taking it serious enough. I’m currently in my 8th treatment program in Utah 320+ days sober. And I can say this program was a part of that sobriety. Watch of for staff that give kids substances, kids that get substances on outings, and kids mistreating other kids to fit in. Before sending your kid here, I recommend you do a lot of research to truly see if this fits your kids needs. Good luck 👁️

Foothills helped me to mature and grow mentally much more then I would have had I been at home, I feel like the majority of the staff really do care and I think it’s a good place for recovery and a big shout out to Casey he helped me a lot and is very supportive and tries to connect with the kids there.

The one star reviews seem to be from people who were removed from the program due to choices they made ie…consequences were enforced. It is a homey, clean facility with a beautiful campus. A wonderful facility with caring and present staff. The support our entire family received was amazing.

After reading some of the misguided comments directed at Dr. Boppana, I felt it necessary to add a counterpoint. I’m so glad to have been assigned to this outstanding physician. Although his personal inclination is to not make much eye to eye contact, he is very attentive to what is being said by redirecting his focus away from the speaker. In so far as putting in a Bluetooth device while the patient is still speaking, this is in order to proceed directly into making the necessary consults in order to address the issues being described to him in real time. I was personally helped by his calling of no less than three people in order to accommodate my needs. Thank you Dr. Boppana.

This treatment center has been nothing short of wonderful. I love everyone who works here and you can feel they truly care about their patients. My counselor is Mrs. Ruth and I stg she is an angel on earth!
My intake day, I called because I was going to be about 25 minutes late due to my own poor choices prior that landed me in the slammer in another state ( NC ) so because of that and having to bail out; I was going to be late. When I called I was trying to reschedule and Mrs. Ruth answered the phone. She told me not to worry about it, leave now and she’ll see me when I get there! She was not going to allow me to reschedule lol.
Fast forward to now. She is my counselor and when I asked her why she did that for me she told me “ because I could hear in your voice that if you didn’t come right then, you weren’t going to come at all “ and she was right! She has done so so much for me. The nurses have done so much for me, all of them! Lisa is absolutely amazing and Natasha and Wendy are compassionate and awesome! The doctors? They most definitely care about you and want you to get to a stable place and will work with you as long as needed until you do.
I highly recommend this treatment center. Even the ladies up front treat you great, are friendly and get you through fast! All around a great experience at this clinic and I’ve been to A LOT!! Because of them, I am clean and actually really happy and content in life. My life has improved so much already and I can’t wait to see where I’m at in life this time next year! It’s a journey I am extremely grateful to be on and grateful to have this wonderful staff on it with me and guiding me every step of the way 🫶🏻

My husband and I were really impressed with the quality of care we received here. He had total knee replacement surgery and even though he had problems from the anesthesia, the nurses and doctors did everything they could to help give us answers. It did turn out to be a reaction to the anesthesia he hadn’t had before, but the nurses were amazingly supportive of him. Our experience at SMC Mary Black Campus was great all around! My mom was there for over two weeks for a surgery that transitioned into a stay in the rehab center. From surgery to the orthopedic floor, to rehab - almost every single person we encountered was prompt, friendly, patient, and helpful while we were navigating new territory with my Mom. Some were more enthusiastic than others, several provided outstanding care, but I always came away from the facility thinking that the majority of people we encountered were happy to be at their job. It was very refreshing!

Today we learned that Dr Carter is retiring at the end of this month....a day I knew would eventually come, but had hoped would be a few more years away.... to see him 20 years +, it was emotional and very sad news😢. We were told a "Dr. Lee who is a good doctor, and younger" wI'll be taking Dr. Carter's position the first of January. My son is not pleased at all, but we will have to wait and see if they "connect" in February.
At any rate, with new management at Family Preservation, and all staff changes, and lack of staff, my "5 star rating" may be much less very soon.

Came to next step for iop/php after my inpatient stint. this was my first time in rehab and i am here as a result of legal issues, meaning i was here less than willingly. That being said I gained so much from this program, not just in sober time but mentally. The staff is amazing and they really care, as a few of them were former patients of next step themselves. There was not a day that i didnt feel as if i wasn’t important or that my needs werent met.The freedom and the trust is another big part, youre allowed to keep your phone and car, work, vape/smoke, and pretty much do as you please within reason. I hated my time where i did inpatient, but i genuinely enjoyed this program and the time i spent here. Im only 22 so i was the youngest person here for a long while, but i never felt out of place or anything of the sort. This would be a place i recommend 100%.

I could not be more grateful for the care I received here. The staff are amazing and will make sure that you are always comfortable. You will be respected, heard, and treated with dignity. You won't be dismissed, all your questions will be answered. Be completely honest so that you can receive the exact care that you need. You could not ask for better accomodations or understanding. The environment is immediately welcoming. Its quiet, peaceful. They have everything you need, you really just need clothing. (Its a bit chilly, bring hoodies and fuzzy socks) There are even laundry facilities. You will be provided with a vape or nicotine patches if you use nicotine products. You may rest as much as you need, the staff will let you sleep through the night, vitals are during the day. You can call your family, except for during group meetings. No visitors, but the stay is short. The counselors and peer support specialists are very honest, open, and eager to help you with your personal journey, without being pushy or making you feel rushed. Whether faith based or evidence based care is right for you, that is your choice. There are options for both approaches!
The idea of group meetings was terrifying for me, an introvert, an addict full of shame and guilt. You are not obligated to contribute, that was reassuring. But I was surprised at myself for wanting to contribute and engage. It was a bit sad leaving. While here, I was not just a junkie, just an alcoholic, a lost cause, all of the negative adjectives I used to describe myself. I wasn't the things my family called me. I wasn't an echo of the childhood I lost. I wasn't an empty, lonely vessel on autopilot. I was a person. A human. Im more than my story, but sharing our perspectives and caring for each other felt like being part of a family. A family where you aren't the black sheep. It was almost overwhelming to feel that kind of support and HOPE. Ill be honest; When I came in, i wasn't ready to get help. The timing was just right. But very quickly that changed. They made me want to be better. Not for recognition or pats on the back. Not for attention or brownie points. They made me want it because they made me see I deserve it, I deserve to live a good life and be happy. If you are thinking about making some changes, please come here. What do you have to lose?

I had a great experience I was scared because of a bad experience I had at ECU. I cannot think the doctors nurses and tech staff enuff.. Y'all took great care of me without making me feel like a burden and that is what you need whenever you're having a nervous breakdown. Nurses took good care of me without making me feel like I was less than. They made sure I had everything I needed. Both my doctors worked very hard with me and got me on the correct medicines and I am home now and feeling better and brand new than I have in years. The staff here is absolutely amazing . This treatment center saved my life. Even though it is state funded the view on the rehab side was beautiful. My detox was taken care of appropriately, and my mental health was then stabilized. After I got to the rehab side I was given numerous tools and education, I can’t begin to express my gratitude to the staff and the doctors here for outstanding treatment.

The staff is incredible!! They really care about you and want you to get better. If someone relapsed it was due to their own choice not the staff's. Really recommend this place.

I was a resident here in 2021, these people made me feel like a person again, beautiful campus and program. I really enjoyed daily walks and visiting the tree in the cemetery with all of the wind chimes ! Thank you for my foundation in sobriety, im going on 5 years of freedom from active addiction !
