I had a great experience at the Forester Center as Tarji Littlejohn is not only a fantastic therapist, but she’s also a very considerate friend. She made sure that I had the right resources and she was always available when I needed. Her group was great but the individual therapy that I had with her was even more meaningful and really helped me open my eyes to the problems that I have and that I’ve continued to get over. I can't really give a rating, since I haven't used their services. I was there to photograph the property for a client who was involved with building the project. But during my experience, the staff I met were very nice. The property is clean and well maintained. And it has a lot of cool amenities and beautiful landscaping.

Hello my name is Jackson. I went here from February 2024 - May 2024. And again August 2024 - September 2024 | This place is really what you make it. It’s a truly unique experience that you won’t get to experience ever again. The campus is super cool and refreshing. They have a barn with horses, a mule, and a donkey. They have a pretty cool ropes course, a big house that you share with 13 other kids and staff, a van and a car that they take you to places in (AA, NA, Activities), and 2 pretty cool chefs who make surprisingly good food for a treatment center. I had the pleasure of working with Valerie. I’ve worked with so many therapists over the years but she truly sticks out from all of them. She’s incredibly nice and very good at her job. Although when I came back home after my first trip here I ended up falling back into my same habits but worse. Which resulted in my coming back to foothills for a second time and wilderness after that. This is not foothills fault for not giving me enough resources. It’s my fault for not taking it serious enough. I’m currently in my 8th treatment program in Utah 320+ days sober. And I can say this program was a part of that sobriety. Watch of for staff that give kids substances, kids that get substances on outings, and kids mistreating other kids to fit in. Before sending your kid here, I recommend you do a lot of research to truly see if this fits your kids needs. Good luck 👁️

Foothills helped me to mature and grow mentally much more then I would have had I been at home, I feel like the majority of the staff really do care and I think it’s a good place for recovery and a big shout out to Casey he helped me a lot and is very supportive and tries to connect with the kids there.

The one star reviews seem to be from people who were removed from the program due to choices they made ie…consequences were enforced. It is a homey, clean facility with a beautiful campus. A wonderful facility with caring and present staff. The support our entire family received was amazing.

After reading some of the misguided comments directed at Dr. Boppana, I felt it necessary to add a counterpoint. I’m so glad to have been assigned to this outstanding physician. Although his personal inclination is to not make much eye to eye contact, he is very attentive to what is being said by redirecting his focus away from the speaker. In so far as putting in a Bluetooth device while the patient is still speaking, this is in order to proceed directly into making the necessary consults in order to address the issues being described to him in real time. I was personally helped by his calling of no less than three people in order to accommodate my needs. Thank you Dr. Boppana.

Registered Nurse Emily in the ICU is perhaps the most caring nurse I have ever come across in my life! My 99 year old grandmother recently passed away, and her journey was made so much better by the care and attention she received. Today we learned that Dr Carter is retiring at the end of this month....a day I knew would eventually come, but had hoped would be a few more years away.... to see him 20 years +, it was emotional and very sad news😢. We were told a "Dr. Lee who is a good doctor, and younger" wI'll be taking Dr. Carter's position the first of January. My son is not pleased at all, but we will have to wait and see if they "connect" in February.
At any rate, with new management at Family Preservation, and all staff changes, and lack of staff, my "5 star rating" may be much less very soon.

This is the first and last detox/recovery center I will have ever attended and i will admit that i was a bit uncomfortable and timid because i had no idea what to expect. I was greeted immediately after exiting my car and brought on a brief tour and then brought to my room where i stayed a bit out of a fear of the unknown. i will fast forward to keep this brief but after getting to know the staff as well as the other patients i actually didn't want to leave. In fact i did leave after detox and came back less than 24 hours later to stay in the residential section and because I missed the environment as a whole, especially the commrodory which is so strong that i would imagine it may only be rivaled by the army/military etc. I have gained a priceless amount of knowledge and wisdom and when my final night approached...all i could think about was coming back just to feel like i am surrounded by people whom actually understand me.

Freedom Detox is an amazing, comfortable place, with kind staff, good food, and qualified medical care professionals who are willing to discuss treatment options. As your time in detox wraps up, there are talented after care coordinators like Jennifer who will help you find options for further treatment. In the meanwhile, there are puzzles, arts, crafts, games, footballs, soccer balls, badminton, and other fun activities. I was a resident here in 2021, these people made me feel like a person again, beautiful campus and program. I have been to both the detox and rehab side of ADACT. I had a good experience. I felt welcomed and the staff is great especially Kelly, she goes above and beyond for the patients. The doctors and therapist helped me stabilize my meds.The classes were great too i learned different ways to cope and retrain my brain to start good habits to replace the bad. As an addict I felt like I was somewhere I could relate to my issues that not everyone can understand. Coming out of a toxic marriage that led to my addiction and mental health it was good to be somewhere different and around new people to get away from my usual triggers and start to take the first step to recovery and living a healthy life. When I finished they guided me in the right direction to continue staying on track for my recovery.

Julian F. Keith Alcohol and Drug Abuse Treatment Center was the turning point in my life. After attending five different rehabs, I arrived here in 2020 feeling lost and uncertain if lasting change was possible. But this place—this team—changed everything for me.
From the moment I walked through the doors, the front office staff greeted me with kindness and dignity. The nurses were compassionate and attentive, the recovery coaches and counselors truly listened, and the education team made learning feel meaningful again. My therapist was nothing short of life-changing—she helped me dig deeper and start healing in ways I never thought possible.
Even the cafeteria staff made an impact. They didn’t just serve meals—they served encouragement with every plate, and their warmth stayed with me daily.
Because of Julian F. Keith, I began to believe in myself again. Today, I’m proud to say I’ve earned my associate’s and bachelor’s degrees, and I’m now finishing my master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Substance Use Disorders, with a focus on trauma and gender identity. I’m also a North Carolina Board Certified Peer Support Specialist, giving back to others just like me—because someone once did the same for me here.
This center helped me reimagine my future and reconnect with my purpose. I will always carry gratitude in my heart for what they gave me. I genuinely believe that without their guidance, structure, and compassion, I would not be where I am today.

Applying for Bethel Colony of Mercy was the first stop in the steps I’ve taken to turn my life around from a life style of very many colors and wrong choices. The staff and guidance that are involved with this Christ recovery transformation center are beyond immaculate. Without those individuals one on one advisory, classroom lessons, daily tasks, genuine fellowship, and of course the power of God I wouldn’t be making the right choices now to be reunited with my loved ones. Or, have my life together by any means of doing this “thing” called life all on my own. I am forever grateful for everyone that god placed into my life through making the decision to go to bethel colony of mercy 😇 Sending prayers to the women’s and men’s campus’ for their strength, unity, protection, faith, and healing.
