January 13, 2026 annual appointment, Goldsboro CBOC: I’m an infrequent user of this CBOC but my experience is much more positive than what some have written. From the moment Dr. Thomas arrived she has handled my issues expeditiously and correctly the first time. Her nurse returns calls the same day and is results oriented. I was here before CBOC came to town. Trust me, don’t knock a local VA facility that so many dedicated officials worked so hard to bring to us for our benefit. No, like the military, they’re not perfect but from my perspective they are dedicated professionals grinding through each and every day in the most bureaucratic agency of the US government. Give em a chance to help you, they will! Godspeed…

I was an overnight patient on August 20 for observation after a procedure. All employees I came into contact with were great. Including the security guard on the entry door. Attention to detail was obvious in every aspect of my stay. I was prossessed in smoothly. Care after my procedure was attentive. My stay on the second floor, room 239, continued to be top notch. One observation noted was an additional amount of interest and concern for sanitation and cleanliness. Ordering meals was greatly improved by quick delivery after placing the order. Also, if able, you are no longer required to wait on a wheelchair when departing. You can walk to the front door with a hospital staff member. A big deal for me! Thanks to each section who’s hospital staff served me and made an unpleasant situation enjoyable. Godspeed! PS: I noticed your Google ratings before contributing my review. There are lots of unhappy, disgruntled and angry people everywhere you go. Placing blame is in conflict with accepting responsibility or reasonable solutions.

If I could give this place 10 stars I would! I came in for a scheduled CSection and from the lady at the front desk to the Nurse discharging me have been absolute Heaven sent! L&D and the postpartum nurses and the whole surgical team I had , I can’t give them enough flowers. I would not have been able to handle such an overwhelming situation so well without them! Thank you for all that you do! I will be able to carry this special time in my life for the rest of my life!

Did the 90 days in fall of 2019. The program basically focuses on Addictive and criminal thinking patterns and the ones who give it a chance will get something out of it. Mr. Ray was my counselor and from day one was fair to all and a good , down to earth counselor. The concerns process was a blast and I can talk all day here but words can't explain the experience you just have to go if given a chance. It's not suppose to be fun ( which it isnt) but given the chance it can have a positive effect. PULL UP!!!

Working with "Jae" is becoming a dream come true. She has a great personality, she dots i and crosses the t every time and is a great communicator. As a peer support specialist she really does an excellent job at taking the stress and anxiety out of the situation at hand. Working in conjunction with the TCL (Transition to Community Living) Program she was able to help me get my very own apartment, that I just moved into yesterday. It means everything to me because this time last year I was homeless, an amputee and I felt hopeless. I just want to say to anyone going through anything similar or even worse don't give up on yourself nor the process. Be faithful, patient, kind and allow life to work out in your favor. I cannot think this place enough for saving my life.Dr Ben is the most caring professional really wanting to help doctors I’ve ever seen. This place has gotten so much better in the last six years. It’s like night and day difference and I cannot express enough how I love the employees each and every nurse knows all about me they are so friendly and they’re there to help you too and get you through it. I got to give a shout out to Toya Mika Michelle Athena Felicia these are the nurses that you get your dose at the windows. I have to say every time I go in there they are always smiling and happy now how many places can you say is like that. I can go early in the morning or later on in the afternoon every single time for six years they have always been smiling and caring not once has anybody just filled up my bottles and not said nothing and mad. I definitely can’t leave this guy out Shaun Thompson I fell in love with my first counselor there, Miss Charon, and when I found out she was leaving I was truly sad. I really loved her a lot. I still do. I still tell her Merry Christmas and everything I got lucky though they gave me Shaun and my name is Shaun too so I guess that was a sign. He has truly got me through some tough times.I don’t understand why they don’t have five stars reviews, but it is impossible to satisfy everybody so I always look at it like that because they couldn’t be no kinder and helpful people than the people that work there. So if you read this, you know, I truly recommend going to Southlight they will help you.

The Raleigh VA Clinic has exceeded my expectations with every appointment. The receptionist greets you with a smile, which I know is easy only sometimes when interacting with the public. Dr. Sheryl Joyner is the epitome of professionalism, wisdom, and warmth. Equally, those who work with Dr. Joyner are a joy! Usually, I have "white coat" syndrome when I visit the doctor, and the anxiety elevates my blood pressure. However, nurses like Rashida King had me laughing and at ease in the short walk from the reception area to the doctor's office--no high blood pressure! Furthermore, Dr. Joyner and Nurse King were informative, relatable, and authentically caring. Going to the doctor is not at the top of anyone's list of things to do, but the staff at the Raleigh VA clinic are good medicine!

The first post where the girl/woman gives 1 star and a terrible review should gonestly check herself!! I've been going to this clinic for over 6 years and uthey l go above & beyond to help each & every lost soul that enters their doors. Let us not forget that most addicts are selfish and believe that the world & all within that world think they are owed something for nothing! We're the addicts, not them and we are the ones with the issues. Each addicts that goes to any clinic should be thankful and greatful theyat they are there to assist us in our time of need! The truth is, no one can make everyone happy 100% of the time. Without clinics like this many of us addicts would be DEAD!! THIS PLACE HAS SAVED MANY ADDICTS LIVES & that I'm 4ever grateful for!!!!! Perhaps adficts6 should take a deep breath & a step back & remind themselves what got them here in the first place!! Worry & try to repair that before leaving out at the very ones who have helped us in our greatest time of need!! If addicts can wait hours and at times wait days to get their fix, then why can't they wait 20 or 30 minutes for their Methadone each morning?!! Until addicts understand that they're the problem & it's not everyone in the world creating issues for them, they will NEVER find sobriety!!! That's keeping it 💯!!!
