The Raleigh VA Clinic has exceeded my expectations with every appointment. The receptionist greets you with a smile, which I know is easy only sometimes when interacting with the public. Dr. Sheryl Joyner is the epitome of professionalism, wisdom, and warmth. Equally, those who work with Dr. Joyner are a joy! Usually, I have "white coat" syndrome when I visit the doctor, and the anxiety elevates my blood pressure. However, nurses like Rashida King had me laughing and at ease in the short walk from the reception area to the doctor's office--no high blood pressure! Furthermore, Dr. Joyner and Nurse King were informative, relatable, and authentically caring. Going to the doctor is not at the top of anyone's list of things to do, but the staff at the Raleigh VA clinic are good medicine!

Wonderful facility and supportive staff! As a new member of the City of Raleigh's Community Engagement Board, I want to learn more about organizations serving our community members. I chose Healing Transitions' Women's Campus as my first site visit because I live nearby and I wanted to see what my neighbors who are experiencing homelessness have access to. I had the opportunity to meet staff and received an amazing tour by Carol, a peer-mentor (former program participant), who guided me through the entire facility and shared information about the programs available at the Women's Campus. The location is beautifully situated in a canopy of trees with several outdoor amenities for gathering. When I arrived, without an appointment, I was greeted by, Kristin, another former program participant, who connected me with Kathy Worley, Women's Planning Room Team Lead. Kathy shared information about the primary services offered: Long-term recovery program, emergency drop-in shelter, and non-medical detox. They provide on-demand shelter and non-medical detox services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Both serve as entry points for the recovery program, but direct entry into the program is possible if detox is not necessary. Two days a week a nurse and physician provide medical triage for various conditions. Healing Transitions also offers a family support program (open to family, friends, and loved ones) and they have outreach efforts lead by their Rapid Responders who are state-certified, peer support specialists. This group of specialists build relationships and connect people in Wake Co. to life-saving resources within 24 - 72 hours of overdosing. I would recommend individuals seeking services and those that care about someone experiencing homelessness and/or substance use to contact Healing Transitions. I also recommend local businesses and individuals to make contributions (e.g., financial contributions, provide in-kind services, or volunteer) to support this local organization. Healing Transitions is a registered nonprofit and all donations are tax deductible. I would also suggest community organizations, businesses, or other groups inquire about renting their beautiful board and community rooms. The spaces have amazing views of the wooded property and are easily accessible from the facility's private parking lot. Thank you very much for allowing me to visit with staff and program participants as well as for the insightful tour! I look forward to sharing information about opportunities at the Healing Transitions' Women's Campus and will see if I can learn more about the Men's Campus in Downtown Raleigh, next!

I just wanted to leave a review for therapist Chris Hammond at this location. Hands down one of the best therapists I've ever had, he's great at his job, you can tell he's one of the ones that went into this field bc he genuinely has a heart for people. Carolina Outreach really got lucky getting him on their team, I'm super thankful for his insight & how he helps me address things with a new perspective. Highly intelligent, articulate, and empathetic. I really can't recommend him enough. I wish more mental health professionals were like Chris. I entered NCRSS in February of 2016. My therapist was Miss Donna. I was in the intensive outpatient program in Clayton, NC that lasted approximately 12 weeks. I am still clean and sober today almost three years later. The program was extremely beneficial to me because I was at a point in my life where I wanted it to work. I learned a lot about myself and my behaviors and how to live without using a day at a time. I not only utilized what treatment had to offer, but the program of Alcoholics Anonymous as well. Today, I am proud of who I am becoming and I help others who struggle with this disease. I am grateful for NCRSS and Miss Donna for all the help that they gave to me. Miss Donna believed in me when most people didn't. From that belief, I was able to find a belief in my higher power and within myself. I am a truly blessed individual and love my sober life.

I’ve been living here for over a month now and have had a fantastic experience so far. I love the proximity to campus (~3 stops away from the health sciences buildings) and that there’s a bus stop right out front! I also really like my apartment- there is ample space and light, and additions like the breakfast bar and newer kitchen make it a great place to live. Maintenance is insanely fast to fix anything, even though I haven’t had any big issues. The office staff is absolutely amazing, and part of the reason I chose to live here. Isvela was wonderful when I was touring virtually from another country, walking all around the property to show me the amenities and answering lots of questions over email and in person when I moved in. Ian also goes above and beyond- he even helped me with a maintenance issue on a weekend, which was way outside of his job description. The people here are just that kind. I haven’t had any bug issues, which I was a little worried about in Chapel Hill, and I love that Morgan Creek Trail runs right beside the property for walks/runs! There aren’t many places left in Chapel Hill with the combination of amenities and value that Kingswood has, and I recommend this community wholeheartedly.

Overall I had a positive experience living at Kingswood. Coming from DC, I absolutely felt safe living in these apartments, which was a big win for me. They are well priced for what you get and just an easy place to live. I had some pipe issues, including ants coming from the toilet (I lived on the bottom floor) and a busted pipe behind my kitchen sink which made it fairly hard to use the kitchen for a few weeks, but overall, compared to other places I have lived, this was great. No big frills, but it overall was a very positive experience and if I moved back to Chapel Hill, I'd look there first, but maybe at one of the units that has a bit less stairs. The complex is on the free bus line that takes you directly to campus, so very great for students as well.

My experience at RMTC was a great life learning experience. First I had to come to believe I had a problem and then the staff could do what they do best. Not only did I get the help to treat my addiction I also learned a lot about my character defects that I didn't realize I had. This was tough to come to terms with but the more willIing I was to work on myself no matter how painful or uncomfortable it made me feel the more I was able to get out of the program. I am still sober and clean 7 months later and I am constantly working on becoming a better person. The staff and TA's are amazing people. The food was top notch. The equine therapy something I was skeptical about but it did wonders for me. I highly recommend this treatment center. My only advice to anyone going would be to push your ego aside and be ready to do whatever is asked of you no matter how much it eats at your ego or pride. If you are willing to dig deep inside yourself you will gain a tremendous amount of insight on what makes you tick and and how to curb it for the better. It will put you down the right path to continue to better yourself for the rest of your life. Jon T.

I have been going to several different m.a.t. treatment places over the past ten years or so and had alot of different counselors at these clinics, but never have I had a counselor like the one at Greensboro New Season's, in the past they were all the same paper work pushers having you sign stuff quickly and go on your way. They gotta go through alot red tape, to make this happen. They are not really counselors at these places, but at this particular new season's I met a counselor named Mrs. Lisa. I can't think of her last name cause that's how everyone refers to her but mrs.lisa was a real counselor she asks questions then has questions about those questions she really cares she remembers you and what your talking about at first I didn't know how to take it like this lady sure is nosy, but she began to counsel me and help me with my marriage my kids my job and my family as a whole. She is a really caring person and changed the whole dynamics of my household she really doesn't know how much she has helped. I may have to relocate soon to another clinic and I am gonna miss this place. Hands down best clinic I have ever been to and I been to quite a few. If you need help give getting off opiods give methadone a try it changed my life for the better most definitely. GO- check out Greensboro New Season's they got alot of good people up there. Where do I even begin… A little over a year ago I decided I couldn’t go on anymore, and needed to change. My life sucked, my relationships were destroyed, always broke, and I was heavily addicted to fentanyl. Walking through those doors felt impossible, but it wasn’t, and I did it! Now I’m sober, healthy, rebuilding and eternally grateful to everyone that dedicates their life to helping others. It because of God and the people at New Seasons that I’m able to write this review today. THANK YOU! To anyone who’s looking into having a better life, trust in these people. You will not regret it!
