This place turned my life around although some people were there using it as a shelter what they were doing was none of my business at that time because the focus was on me. Everything from the food, meetings, nurses, and even social activities were nice they really helped me stay clean for over 10 years now ❤️❤️❤️

My wife Kelly Smith is coming to Gateway, the Taylor Street location, within a week or so I hope this is a good place for her. Some questions I have if anyone is kind enough to please answer them for me: 1. Can she bring in a vape pen? (Tobacco) 2. How do phone calls go? 3. How does visiting go? If I don’t have an ID, can I be denied entry? 4. Any helpful advice you have for me to help her adjust when she gets back home? 5. Any tips/ insider info you could give me to tell her to help her stay be more comfortable?! 6. What’s one thing you wish you brought to treatment but forgot? Anything you suggest to bring?? 7. I went to gateway rehabilitation and the food was good. But the best part of my experience was my counselor. Virginia Garcia was absolutely fabulous. She went above and beyond her duty for me. She made me feel at ease and answered all my questions. She is lovely and kind. Ty Virginia.

My first time in this hospital and I don't regret it nurse jenna& Nicole were awesome! Jenna was fantastic she made my first time experience great. She was super sweet and lovely! Thank you Jenna 😊 thank you for all of you in this clinic all were very professional and outstanding and awesome!

This was our first time experience in this hospital. We were treated very nice by all the staff. They were very helpful. The rooms and hospital is very clean... ER doctors saved my husband's life... very, very thankful for all of them. Doctors that preformed surgery were checking in evwry day.. we were always updated on what's the next step.ICU staff so so thankful for making us feel safe..Mitchell 1 and Mitchell 2, Beata and Nora thank you for everything you have done for us!

Been going to Family Guidance for awhile now and I absolutely recommend this methadone clinic to anyone struggling with opiate addiction. The staff are mostly friendly and it's easy to get into the clinic within a day or two. Once you get to the correct methadone dose the dope sickness is mostly gone and then you can slowly get back to a normal life. I've had a few counselors since going here and all were nice and professional but my current one Gary is Awesome. He seems to really care and is always helpful. I would most likely be dead if I didn't sign up at Family Guidance. If you're looking for a way to stop using dope give this clinic a try.

Lots to say! I'm a physician, and was at PSI for 8 weeks in early 2025. Their main values are creating a sense of community and belonging, and encouraging self-reflection and self-discovery. I felt they were very trusting, encouraging gradual autonomy in the myriad available directions for assisted and self help, and in other ways like encouraging us to visit home or explore Chicago. While I was stretched financially, they were extremely charitable in ways I didn't expect, deepening my trust that they had my best interests over their financial interests. I know some people have understandable skepticism of rehab facility priorities, but you absolutely will not get ripped off here, and they transparently explained anything I asked about. They listen intently to feedback, and the hours and expectations are reasonable - if anything lenient to promote independence. The high-rise apartments have beautiful views, great location and amenities, and are clean and well-supplied. They handle Covid and health situations safely, and while I'd prefer no roommate, it does enhance mutual help and community. In fact, I stay in regular touch with people because of it. Chicago's expensive, but this was an investment in my future happiness, purpose, and fitting into the life I want. The program is well-designed and comprehensive, and I urge taking the customized treatment plan seriously, as it was a massively useful way to tailor various resource exposures to my needs and interests. They encouraged open-minded experimentation with a wide variety of treatment resources, resulting in a diverse toolkit to utilize upon discharge. This helped me handle stress, cravings (which will always pass), and generally be able to quickly reframe my outlook and adapt. Pouring your honest heart into the How It Was assignment is extremely revealing and cathartic, family counseling and resources were a relief, it seems everyone loves the small group sessions in which challenging supportively is favorable, there are several AA alternatives, and PSI was very supportive after I left. My attorney said the letter written for me was the best he'd seen, reflecting the program quality. For those of us who tend to isolate, the treatment community was really lovely, with regular community events for socializing, and open-door access to the various therapists. I want to especially say that I felt they genuinely cared about and got to know me, which made an enormous difference in my willingness to trust them and buy into the program. They got very excited when I made progress and develop insights, which really helps cultivate a sense of achievement. Special shoutouts to therapists Mike and Tim, but I had excellent, instructive, and helpful interactions with literally everyone working there; they're all great people. They tried hard to set me up for a smooth transition back into my life, and should probably all get raises. Being here helped reorient my life, equipping me with confidence to handle both known and unknown future adversities. I was surprised to cry when I said goodbye, but it was all so therapeutic and helpful that I did. I even feel teary gratitude writing this. Finally, I'd like to say that we get out of this sort of experience what we put into it, and attitude makes a big difference. If you think you have a problem, then this is a great place to start solving it. If you don't think you have a problem, then any rehab is going to be a pain. I know that acceptance is hard, but we usually land in this situation for an obvious reason. I guess I'd say a seed has to split in order to sprout. While the splitting part isn't always fun, I felt comfortable here to be able to grow, which made me feel proud and capable. Try like hell to avoid regret, cynicism, and distrust, as I've learned and seen in this context it holds us back. Instead, accept and commit, because it will pay off. Don't worry about how long you may be here, and just get everything that you can out of it while you are. Best wishes on your recovery.

This is my second attempt at an intensive outpatient program, and the positive impact of the right program was truly remarkable. PSI provides personalized support both individually and in group settings, enabling me to gain a comprehensive understanding of my addiction at its core. The individuals I have encountered and the dedicated staff have made a profound and lasting impact on my journey. I deeply regret not discovering this facility sooner. If you are grappling with addiction, I highly recommend seeking the services of PSI. They are the ideal resource for individuals seeking effective treatment and support. Such a transformative experience! Naturally, the reviews you read for addiction treatment centers are going to skew negative but don't let that deter you if you believe you need help. Not only did I have an amazing experience with staff, I've built a strong foundation of community among my peers who were also seeking treatment. While encouraged by their use of an evidenced-based model, the incorporation of the 12-steps had me skeptical at first but now I'm fully committed. If you feel the 12 steps aren't for you, they also provide information about alternatives such as SMART Recovery and Recovery Dharma. My one complaint would be that I had chosen to participate in the in-person IOP during intake, but was somehow placed into the virtual IOP. Once it was recognized it was a quick fix and it didn't impact my start date or anything like that.

Could not have been more pleased with my experience and have grown so much in my 10 months of outpatient treatment. Cleidy and Mark will be in my recovery forever and cannot thank enough.

This place is absolutely awesome. The staff is extremely kind, patient and understanding. If you are at any critical stages and/or transitions and need help, compass can help. I feel prepared to take on any difficult part of life now.

Compass genuinely changed my life. I was in their trauma and mood IOP (intensive outpatient) and PHP (partial-hospitalization) program for a few months last year and a whole year later I'm still actively using all the skills I learned. Each class I was in had maybe 20 people in it and they had different types of therapists for each session, and I had an individual therapist there as well as a psychiatrist. The skills they teach there are largely CBT and DBT, which I knew about before but wasn't practiced in. They break skills down each session and how you can apply them to assisting your life. I learned to self process, regulate my emotions, as well as learn interpersonal communication skills, which given my circumstances had always been difficult for me. I also was able to start creating for myself a list of values that were most important to me in order for me to make positive "value aligned" choices so that I was less likely to spiral and self-sabotage. I learned how to begin to create healthy boundaries for myself and express my needs, which became pivotal in nurturing my relationships with others and myself. When I put my skills into practice, I noticed that my self image and self esteem began to significantly improve- which was one of my biggest goals that I was able to start to achieve. I began to notice and break ingrained habits and patterns that no longer served me and hindered my overall growth. One of my favorite classes was art therapy- they had an art therapist come in and bring up various topics that we could make art based on with the materials they provided. I found this to be very helpful in processing my emotions and the different projects others created were really powerful as well. These art projects really helped me begin to chip away at my shame and insecurities that I had carried with me my whole life, and expressing it through a creative outlet was very cathartic in a tactile and conceptual way. I feel incredibly lucky to have been able to come here for therapy programs. I was able to meet some of the most amazing folks in my groups, and the therapists I was able to work with and learn from were so wise and patient. My biggest advice if you come here for therapy programs is that you get out what you put in. If you come here and begin to make yourself vulnerable and come face to face with yourself you will begin to see changes you might have never seen possible, especially if you are struggling with repeating unhelpful habits. So here I am, one year later, my life completely transformed in ways I never imagined for myself. Life is still hard and there are always things out of my control. But the skills I learned at Compass have helped me to begin to untangle the issues I face in my life. Through it all I learned how to understand myself and others, but most importantly, how to begin to really love myself. And if you ask me, that's a priceless and core element to healing. So thank you to the therapists that guide the programs here and I hope that if any of you out there that are struggling trying to get through consider compass! <3

went to group upset and didn't want to admit I need help. stephanie and holly in virtual iop saved my life. stephanie changed my medicine and I felt better. holly helped me understand ptsd and cope she is the nicest counselor easy to talk to. what else can I say they are the experts if anyone can help they can.
