A valuable life worth living! A true Alcoholic that should never ever hold or pick up a drink! Unfortunately now I'm plagued with Kidney and Liver Disease. Initially the mere thought of having a 3 hour meeting with a Therapist and small group was the LAST thing in my Vision. However I need this service for 3 months to possibly get on the Kidney Transplant List. I have grown to truly enjoy Kyle's IOP group. I look forward to it and miss it on Wednesdays and Fridays. Kyle has opened my eyes and nudged me to attend meetings. My answer turned from NO thank you, to I will give AA meetings a go. Keep in mind that I have been in and out of the Program for 20+ years. Guess what? I am enjoying AA meetings now! I dreaded them before. I am grateful to Kyle and his group for pushing me to my next step in Recovery. Such a blessing!! Their support staff, therapists and ancillary providers all rallied around me. I was supported, encouraged and never felt forced. My time here unfolded organically. I make everything start at worst case scenario hoping it doesn't stay there but unfortunately it sometimes does. Im not going to give you a play by play or some incredible testimony because my story is still going strong but I've come a very long way and I 💯 give my counselor, Susan, alot of credit for sticking by me even bk in the beginning when I would be nasty and childish towards her and ill never forget when she told me that she was just waiting for me to be ready. * full disclosure im a garbage head and at the time I needed rehab terribly. And she was so patient and calm n it drove me nuts. Until one day, I walked into her office and said im ready. And from that chair in her office I left for rehab right away thanks to a combined effort of the staff, Will a former employee but mainly through her approach over months. I've had several wonderful things happen since then but most importantly I finally won my 3 year battle with CPS and gained joint custody of my son back. Now, don't get it twisted, I am far from a shiney happy person now. I've got major struggles right now but ever since that day she can't get rid of me off her caseload. Mainly because secretly im her favorite.😄 but i won't let them switch me because Susan really does care about her clients and I am sure of it for many reasons. If Susan isn't you're counselor you're missing out. And because of her this center gets a 5 star 🌟 rating from me. Which, btw, NEVER happens. Both were consummate professionals, took their time and really handled the entire visits well. It really bolsters my faith in the treatment when I don't feel the MD is rushing to move onto the next patient. Ultimately I got fantastic care and I am sold, I will continue to use them and this site for medical care. I have been using VA Medical in various capacities for over forty years now and I have always had a good experience. Haley who works at the front desk is the most sweetest, helpful, caring staff member I've ever had the pleasure of working with in regards to my sobriety and staff at a facility. She is always open and honest l. She's never guided me in the wrong direction. Honestly she works so hard in taking care of us clients and what we need that sometimes it feels like I'm not doing enough for my own recovery. If you're nervous about taking the next step in your recovery as I was never have been to a PHP before. She makes sure that it's a smooth transition. Honestly the only way you could think Haley or the rest of the staff isn't doing enough for you is if you're so lazy and aren't really serious about your recovery that you just expect everyone to do everything for you. I. That case you may need a higher level of care. Because I've never been so excited and felt like I had the help I need in my recovery as I do in sober solutions and working with Haley. The facility is cozy and kept very clean. There is a smart tv in every room as well as in the lounge/common area which is set up like a living room. I found the groups helpful. There are 3 hour long groups you can attend but don’t have to and either an AA or NA speakers that comes every night for an hour long meeting. I liked that Sunrise is a smaller facility, having room for about 20 patients. This made it easier to open up and share. You are able to go outside for fresh air or to smoke anytime except during group time. I have absolutely nothing negative to say about Sunrise Detox. Thank you to all the staff! You all are amazing!! Never been to detox before but the people who work there actually care about you and want you to get better. It only works if you are ready though. The food was amazing everyday, the counselors are there to help you, and the doctors/nurses want what’s best for you. I will 100% be going back there one day to speak to the patients to show them that recovery is possible. They also help you with finding resources after being discharged.
