Twenty years ago, I went through a crisis involving addiction that had catastrophic implications for my family. While my loved one was at a nationally acclaimed residential treatment program, and I had confidence he was getting the help he needed, I felt lost, alone, left out, ignored, and in the dark. I had almost no communication with my loved one or his therapists. I remember going to an in-person educational seminar at the facility, where we learned about addiction, but had no personalized information about our person or situation. Now I’m walking this journey with my daughter, whose loved one is in residential treatment at DreamLife. At intake, she was given a packet of information that included links to family sessions that were held over Zoom six times a week for a total of 10+ hours! We both jumped in the first week, and even in the early days of this crisis, when we were emotionally reeling, we felt seen, known, informed, cared about, communicated with, and supported. Some classes are led by a recovered addict, who gives us an understanding of what life is like for an addict, how they think, and what their early recovery journey will look like, including how they might push buttons or manipulate their family members in ways that are counterproductive to their recovery. Others are led by the mother of an addict, who sensitively helps families understand the emotions and situations that we are thrust into, and how our well-intentioned efforts might sabotage their progress. Both have the objective of helping us to understand how our behavior contributes to enabling addiction, and to give us the skills and knowledge that will strengthen our resolve and ability to be healthy ourselves, and stop being naive participants in the circus of addiction. The family program at DreamLife is remarkable. The instructors are knowledgeable, articulate, and passionate when lecturing, and attentive, compassionate, kind, and wise when applying the principles to individual questions and situations presented by family members. The classes have a rotating ‘membership’ as there is always a mix of people who have just arrived and people whose loved ones are ready to come home or move to the next step in treatment. This creates a dynamic much like an Al Anon meeting, where we all benefit from hearing the facilitator talk about a particular client’s situation with their family, as well as learning insights from each other as family members jump in to share their own experiences. It also gives a very real sense that we are not alone, and even though we may never meet any of our fellow participants in the Zoom sessions in real life, we feel seen and supported by them. If you have a loved one at DreamLife and you have not taken advantage of the Family Sessions, then you are missing out. Anyone who loves an addict who is or has been at DreamLife is welcome. My daughter is learning how to live with her loved one in a way that supports his recovery and acknowledges that she has her own recovery journey, too. Living thousands of miles away, I am learning how to support my daughter. Without the opportunity to attend, I might feel helpless, and I would be ignorant about the disease of addiction and what it takes to commit to recovery. I might feel angry, rather than compassionate, as the behaviors that can look like willful, selfish, moral failures are actually symptoms of a neurologic disease that overrides the ability to live a deliberate, purposeful life. It appears that very few of the residents have a family member attending the sessions that we have found invaluable. This is such a lost opportunity to learn about addiction and to be informed about the progress of your loved one as they engage in recovery. Please consider this an invitation from someone like you, with nothing to gain. You will benefit, and we all will benefit from your participation. Thank you, DreamLife, for pioneering ways to include and equip families of your primary clients. It is a gift. And no matter how our journey unfolds, my family is grateful.

My loved one is currently in residential treatment at DreamLife Recovery in Donegal. As a family member, I give DreamLife five stars for their family programming sessions run by Curtis Rogers and Robin Miller over Zoom. These classes have been critical to my own parallel journey as I learn more about how to effectively support my loved one without enabling the addiction. I've developed new skills for how to recognize manipulation, set boundaries, and "wear my own hat". These classes have empowered me with the wisdom to recognize what is and is not in my control and the courage to make hard choices that are in the best interest of me and my loved one. Addiction is a family disease and it affects everyone touched by it. Because of the nature of the disease, it is often the family members and loved ones who need to change first in order for the addict to change themselves. I highly recommend that anyone with a loved one at DreamLife to prioritize attending as many of the classes as they can. The time commitment is worth it and you will learn so much.

Power, saved my life. I recommend Power to everyone. I have a story to tell about how power saved my life, but there's not enough space here for me to tell my story. If I could tell you a short version there's still not enough space. So with that being said let Power in your life, and you'll see for yourself how powerful Power is.

I just had my last Jade appointment The staff at Jade - Alex Dan Emily Gloria the doctors all of them Rosie are just fantastic you couldn't ask for someone to care more and someone to try more and if you're really serious about getting clean and living a different life Jade is definitely the place for you. Even if you're not clean and you're just trying to get there and you're brand new at it Jade is the place for you I can't think of a situation good or bad that Jade would not be as helpful as they possibly can be. I just know so many successful people that have come from Jade in their recovery they've just gotten very far to whenever they first started it Jade didn't even have a place to live. I feel like Jane is always went above and beyond but you know they needed to. The fact that pretty much any time of night or day if you have to get a hold of someone in an emergency you can- it is not like that it all other facilities that I've been to. Jade is the only outpatient facility that I have went to and trust me I went to a lot of them that actually care. It's super sad because I've been with Jade for such a long time. I will miss Kristen forever and this is super hard to move on but I would recommend Jade over any other rehab facility in the world and if you are a patient at Jade you are lucky to be there and you should take advantage of everything that they have to offer because it's such a great facility and they truly do care. I wish all the staff yhe best and thank you for how far I have come thanks to you guys and to know you truly make a huge difference. I have three kids that are happy, healthy and in a nice home because of Jade and I couldn't be more grateful.

My mom was admitted after a nasty fall at home to the P.C.U and was there for 8 days. The entire team was great with her and kept the communication open with me being I was out of state. I arrived at Forbes to help tend to my mother and was informed by the staff of her condition and needs. The team on floor 3 P.C.U.was great and attentive to her and listened and communicated what was needed for her best treatment. I appreciate the entire staff that was involved with her. She was released from Forbes and sent to her treatment facility in which she will be needing PT for possibly 4 weeks. Hoping for a positive and speedy recovery for her.

Sojourner House offers a unique healing expe for women in addition in that it United and often reunified women in recovery with their child or children and their families. There aren't many organizations that permit women to live with their children in their own apartments while participating in individual, group, and family therapy. There are three levels of care offered for women and children in need to regain lost independence in secure environments. Hopefully more similar-based programs will be established both at the state and national level so that women do not need to be separated from their children while recovering, as is often the case. Allowing a family to recovery together is a unique and needed experience as.addixiron continues to plague our nation. As is with everything, it is what one makes of a situation that will shape their perception.yet I encourage women in need to seek information about Sojourner that are in need. The first time I went here I thought I hated it and it was horrible, then I went to southwood and was begging to go back here. I went to western psych inpatient 2 times as well as outpatient 2 times and I can say I had a very pleasant experience all 4 times. Every psych ward has its issues like how they lost my favorite hoodie, but In the end most of the staff genuinely cared. They took us to meetings, made sure we could call people as much as they were allowed, treated us like equals, and just wanted what was best for us. There was always a staff or 2 that no one liked bc they were miserable, like Miss Sarah which I don’t know if she still works there or not. Whenever the mean ones weren’t around though they let us have as much fun as possible without breaking the rules. The one night we were bored and wanted to play dodge ball, so the staff flipped the tables and made teams! Not everyone has a great experience and you should still listen to your kid if they are begging you to take them out but I personally grew a lot bc of this place.

My husband is there and I never leave reviews but this place or let me say the people that work at that place are so awesome I can’t express just how great they really are. I’m four hours from there and had to bring some personal items for my husband but I have to work during the day ,they’re cut off time for drop off is 4 or 6PM, I didn’t get there till after 9 o’clock and they were so understanding and nice about it. And my husband isn’t the friendliest and doesn’t really care for people but he’s in such a good space it sounds and he’s actually getting something from being there. He says the people are great there. I’ve had to call there for a few times. I missed 3 phone calls so I had to make sure he was OK The person on the other end of the phone actually called him up to there and let me speak to him to let me know he was OK and to let him know I was OK that I didn’t answer and little things like that really mean A lot. If you’re seeking treatment, you’re a male I would check this place out 110%.

I was there for 45 days was admitted on October 14 2024 and this place will always be the place that changed my life. Most of the employees were wonderful the clients all worked together to help each other out no one went with out if someone needed something between the staff and clients we got shit done. I had never laughed so hard for so long! It’s a truly amazing place as long as you do what you’re supposed to..it is what you make of it. It can only change you if you want it to change you but obviously they can’t force you. In order for any rehab to work you have to want it. Although most clients were court ordered there a lot of us took it seriously and I hope you do too. Thanks to all the staff at ridgeveiw IP! Techs- Sabrina, Tyler, Chelsea and TODD Counselor Lisa who knew I was very uncomfortable with 1 on 1s but managed to get me through it and managed to have a lot of great life changing conversations in her very small windowless room. This place is honestly an amazing place just follow the rules, show up on time and learn something. It can’t hurt even if you don’t want to be there. This shit can save your life. Good luck! April has been my counselor for almost 2 yrs. I have always been able to be very open and honest with her, without any sort of judgment. When it comes to addiction, people always do judge. But not her. That's just who she is. The nurses, I feel like they are judgemental. Whether it's our session, me just venting, or me needing someone to talk to. April has always been there. I can't show enough appreciation. I always feel better when we hang up Thanks April for all you do for me.

The therapists and staff here are very knowledgeable and experienced. I was nervous about attending at first but became quickly at ease with sharing my addiction related issues and felt that this was the best place for me to be for treatment and to get me on the right path to recovery. I learned alot about the disease and looked forward to coming here for treatment every day. Thank You

Don't really have much to say about it since I've only been to one part of it. My PCP is here, and I like him and his team. I've been with them for more than 20 years but not in this building. It's clean and more secure ever since a stabbing or shooting happened a few years ago, but it was the hospital part and not the office part where my doctor is.

The service to get to where I was looking for to get was courteous, but everytime I came to see a patient they would treat me as if I was a patient within their hospital which made me feel strange everytime I went to visit a friend or family member inside the hospital.

What a great health facility. The staff are wonderful and so helpful! The hospital is extremely clean. I can’t say enough about the staff. Dr Lavenburg was wonderful and Anna from 9 west floor went above and beyond. If you are looking for cardiac services, Dr Lavenburg is highly recommended.

I spent 35 days here in September of 2022 and absolutely loved it. by far the best rehab I’ve ever been to. I didn’t want to leave when it came time to go. the staff was super caring and polite, Melissa made sure to always let me know how worthy I am of being sober and was always so positive about everything, with her bright smile. the nursing staff was nothing less than phenomenal, sometimes short staffed but they always made it work and listened to my every need. the food was awesome, you can choose from a few different choices each day on a weekly menu they hand out. calls home to my family were plentiful, I was able to call every single night. I was never able to do that at any other rehab I’ve been to, maybe 3x a week at most. so that was amazing to say the least. it’s a very small tight knit community, I think 22-25 patients, gender mixed. they’d take us to the park on nice days and let us take a walk or play cornhole, throw a football, or just chill and listen to music. the showers were AMAZING. great pressure, not too hot and not too cold. just perfect. the beds were very comfy which I was surprised because they were small and I am 6’6” .. but I slept like a baby every night after detox. Detox was a bit rough but I think that’s a given no matter where you go. it’s all about what YOU make of it during detox. 5/5 stars I’d give 6/5 if I could. this would be my first choice every time from here on out, if I were to ever need to go back, or if I had to refer a friend, this would definitely be the place!!!
