Hello my name is Mark and I'm an alcoholic I have been for 40 years now not that I am proud of that. I had another DUI conviction and decided I needed help for my problem. I went to ccdaec before I had to by court it was the best thing I could have done for myself but ultimately went to jail and I saw a councilor while I was incarcerated which helped. I made the first four steps but then was released and I started my court ordered counciling which included groups and individual counciling. If you knew me you would know I'm not good with change or new people. I've never felt more comfortable with the counselor s I was assigned to. They brought out all of the things I have never talked about before. They made me so comfortable and supported me like I have never known before. I would like to take this time to say thank you for all that you have done for me but unfortunately without you in my life I have relapsed once again but thank you for trying it was a good run when you all were in my life. I'm not proud of what I have done but thank all of you for doing what you do. I love you all and once again thank you.
Thanks

So Blessed to have found St. Joseph’s! Saved my Life! As a mature 50 something grandma, I would never have believed that I would get so sucked into addiction that I could give up everything for one thing! But Nothing Shy of a Miracle would make me quit.God heard my plea for Help and St Joseph’s delivered! 3 weeks into my rehab I had a heart attack, I would probably be dead had I been outside of St Joseph’s using like I was, and after a quick procedure I was back to finish my rehab 48 hours later. My stay extended beyond 60 days, and sure there were days I felt trapped inside this village, but I needed precisely there to be rules, stability, structure. Quitting One thing for Every Thing would not be my New Reality had it not been for St. Joseph’s!

This hospital is the better of choices when it comes to psychiatric care. All of the staff who work at 3R are remarkable, but George, Tori, and Dr. Kutzer really stand out.
Dr. Kutzer was aware of my history of eating disorder, and did her best to prescribe me medications that didn't cause weight gain; I didn't have this kind of experience at the other hospital in this area. She was also very sympathetic to my home life, and began to know me on a first-name basis.
The food at St. Vincent's is surprisingly good for hospital food, and they give you very ample portions.
I can speak on departments other than the psychiatric one as well, as St. Vincent's saved my grandfather's life around 32 years ago when they did a heart operation on him. They also saved my mom's life in 2022, when she needed emergency surgery. She was life lighted to Pittsburgh, and the hospital in Pittsburgh said that St. Vincent's saved her life with the emergency operation they did.
I spent a lot of time in St. Vincent's due to my psychiatric disorder, and the staff was usually pretty accommodating. On the off times they did get irritated, it was because I kept asking the same questions.

Please do not send your children to this facility. The kids are subject to being over medicated, terrorized by the staff, drawn out stays, & unimaginable horrors. The staff is unprofessional. Their website completely lies there are NOT psychologists, psychiatrists, & doctors available 24 hours a day. The kids are “monitored” by 2 staff members and many are hiding in a corner and there are sexual encounters amongst the adolescent patients. They dope your kids up so they can’t misbehave, group consists of kids meeting in a room & falling asleep from medicine, there is not a treatment plan in place solely a plan to milk your insurance company for as much money as they can get. They keep the children from calling out, make it impossible to see or speak with your kids. The kids are advised to decline the 1st parent visit because they tell them it will hurt their treatment. They spend less than 1 hour a day doing school work while being incoherent. Look elsewhere!!

Staff in admissions are not very friendly. They do not acknowledge the family and treat the patient like they are in trouble and are there for something they did wrong. My family and I felt very uneasy leaving my loved one there. Staff never explained anything to us or tried to make us feel like this facility was a safe place. On the other hand the ladies we spoke to on the phone when we were making arrangements to have our loved one admitted were very nice and helpful. Also the lady handling the financials was very nice too.
Addiction is a disease and patients and their families should be treated like any other person who is sick and is asking for help to get better.

Dr David Mathis confirmed memory loss consented for security reasons in my medical file Feb 1980.

Staff is helpful and facility is clean. They offer 2 maintence programs for opiate addiction. Methadone and Suboxone. They take most insurance or you can pay cash. The methadone program cost roughly $125 per week. However they will work with cash paying patients that need some type of payment arrangement. If you need help with your addiction and don't feel that you're ready to quit cold turkey on your own Discovery is a positive alternative.
