I cannot believe it took me so long to leave a review for this wonderful establishment. Thank you Gallus, from the bottom of my heart. I was admitted July 3, 2023, and I have remained clean since, as I approach 26 months clean and sober. Your suggestions for me to follow in after care were spot on, and it helped me to regain my life. I cannot thank this facility enough for the attention, care, and heart felt advice to help turn my life around! Eve and Stephanie were absolutely amazing, and Tess, though we didn't know each other as well, my sincere gratitute goes out to you all. Thank you Gallus for the oppotunity to thrieve once again. Without you, this journey wouldn't have started, and you saved my life!!!!!

Absolutely blown away by this facility. Detoxing IS intimidating! I was not ready for what I was walking into, in a good way! The staff is the ABSOLUTE BEST! I felt welcomed, never judged, cared for and about! The staff was AMAZING... (in the order of appearance because I loved them all so much!) Wanda, Darian, Tess, Sadie, Paige, Shante, Frances & Kiki!! LOVE THEM! They made sure I had everything I needed to come down comfortably! The pictures of the rooms, that's what you get! A queen sized bed with a TV in your private room. Beds are comfy and the great lighting for whatever mood you're in! The entire facility is clean, really clean! The staff here really takes pride in what they do! The food, was amazing! They order in Door Dash for lunch and dinner from good places! Plus, they have things to eat in the kitchen as well as coffee, hot tea, Gold Peak teas, Gatorade, and way more! Fruits, toast, bagels! I could go on! I appreciated that they kept everything stocked. While there, they also helped me to line up what my next steps were, provided me resources on places/providers/therapists that were in network for me. I didn't expect that, but really appreciate not having to leave without a plan! Thank you lovely therapist Ali for all your hard work on that! I can't forget Dr. Welcher, she clearly knows what she's doing and how to handle this process! To barely feel any symptoms is unheard of! This is the way to go! No reason to be scared anymore! One more shout out to the staff! I wouldn't be where I am today without all of them! I've been going through it pretty bad (like most people), but they were so kind, compassionate, attentive and truly have the biggest hearts! They also were fun to be around which made the time there so much easier! Thank you so much!!! I'm gonna send a card when I'm a year clean and enjoying life! Not sure I need to say this, but I 10/10 recommend this place!

My 1st looney bin experience was a good one. The techs who were with us all the time were super amazing and kind. The nurses were hit or miss and the PA I was assigned to be was pretty good. Highlands Behavioral Health saved my life. When I signed myself up to be apart of their inpatient program I was in psychosis, suicidal, and terrified of what could happen. I spent a week in inpatient and it was exactly what I needed to get my life back on track. A majority of the staff is so kind and trauma informed. If I’m ever in trouble again, this is the first place I’ll go. I want to give a shoutout to Diane (RN), Blake (RN), Bre and Sarah (ET therapists), Matt (BHT), and Trevor (BHT). Lastly I want to thank Dr. Kosmach especially for meeting me where I was in recovery and being so kind and patient.

Let's face it, nobody *wants* to be in a Mental Health Facility, but when you need to be in one, I would suggest here ten times out of ten. I was voluntarily admitted here and was expecting 3-5 days max. Welp, ended up I caught the start of a "breakdown." Not gonna lie, I was horrified when I first came in and the first few days. I became more comfortable, and all of my needs were always met. Sometimes, it took a little bit (when the unit was full or more complex and immediate attention was required for tense situations), but I always felt like I was cared for. Talking with a psychiatrist every day to fine-tune my meds was a lifesaver. The councilors and therapists were phenomenal. The other staff was all great. I can't think of one person who was rude to me or didn't want to help. The unit is amazingly clean (I came from a very very dirty and rundown MHF that it was borderline scary), and the main janitor actually cleans things and not just "wipe down" and spot clean. The bathrooms stayed clean almost 100% of the time! Much higher than all the fast food places I've had to use the facilities. I'm sorry I can't name staff... I know a few of them, but I would feel bad mentioning just the few when it was Every Single Person. Thank you all, and I hope this review helps someone decide in their time of need to come here. I'm getting released on my 11th day here and feel good about the extended stay for my well-being. -D

I voluntarily checked myself in when life became too overwhelming and aside from being cold all the time, they were amazing! The check-in process takes time and is intimidating, but once you are in, the staff is beyond welcoming and they helped make it an easy comfortable transition. I do feel like more transparency would have helped with checking in because after speaking with them via phone when I arrived with personal belongings, some items weren't allowed after all and they said family can bring outside food to you but that wasn't allowed either. They allow you the free space to do as you please - meaning they don't force you to attend groups, but they have the days scheduled to keep you busy if you want to participate in group or social activities. They encourage you and your needs even if it is just a day of laying in bed or keeping to yourself. Everything is voluntary and the techs there made me feel accepted and more so that my feelings were valid. I felt safe and listened to. I finally felt human again. I was provided with A LOT of helpful information that I was able to take with me that will make coping with life more easy and was given the tools to best help my personal mental/emotional needs. I highly recommend this location for anyone in need - I was not suicidal and did not feel the need to hurt myself or others and they welcomed me with open arms while reassuring me that I was able to leave at any time. They are next to a beautiful green space with a nearby creek and we were allowed outside time which was huge for me. If I ever feel the need to take a timeout from life again, this will always be my first choice to go to for the help I need. They even helped me get appointments scheduled for follow-up after I had left their facility to ensure a smooth transition back into the real world. They went above and beyond for me when I needed it the most and I can't thank them enough for it. From what I saw while visiting, people feel negatively about these facilities when they aren't taking ownership of their own care. As the saying goes, you can lead a horse to the water but you can't make it drink. If you need help, tell them what it is you need to succeed - they aren't mind readers and can only help you with what they are made aware of! Even if you need more than they are able to help with, they can at least point you in the right direction.

3 years ago I was introduced to 2xtreme as a resource to help my son who, at the time, was self-medicating with anything he could get his hands on. My son was lost and I wanted him back. I was referred to 2xtreme by a vice principal at my son's school. Upon my research, I found that they work with at risk young men and families who are in a crisis. During our first appointment, the approach taken by John Davis of 2xtreme, was extraordinarily different as he was able to pinpoint my sons struggles and name them. Taken back by what we had encountered that day, I knew and my son knew that this was the place for him to find himself and to begin to heal. Over these 3 years, not only was my son cared for, but my family was as well. A relationship that consisted of thoughtfulness, communication, experientials, care, integrity, humility, vulnerability and love is what brought not only my son, but my family closer. My son and I are both stronger mentally, physically and spiritually, and we are still evolving. I owe so much to 2xtreme and John Davis, the words Thank You just don't seem to match what they have done, sacrificially, for me and my family.

Zinnia overall was a great experience! I encountered many strengths and a few faults. The faults came under scrutiny in the upper management role. I completely understand that Zinnia is a wellness facility and a business. The personal experience, to me was wellness was priority one, in the case of facilitators, techs and nurses. This was not the case in the roll of Director of Operations at the Singer Island facility. This individual showed little compassion and it was obvious that business outranked wellness. Colorado Medication Assisted Recovery, familiarly known as “CMAR,” is hands-down the best program for addiction recovery. From the intake process to the first day in a group session, they make you feel so at home. So many times addicts like me have a lot of anxiety about entering a treatment center and being judged or not feeling like they belong. But my experience is quite opposite of that. People from all walks of life, with all different addictions are there and are welcoming and loving and supportive. CMAR has truly become a family to me. The nurse is very attentive and warm and exceptionally smart. The therapists are so knowledgeable and can really help you uncover the “Why” behind your addiction and unravel it, as well as give you simple life skills to combat the ups and downs of life as they come. Thwy also offer a very lenient schedule of either being able to attend online or in person, but in person is so much more impactful because you really get to know each therapist and your fellow addicts and that’s how it really becomes a family. I am highly partial to the morning IOP sessions with a therapist named James. Everyone connects with therapists differently, so the staff has all different style therapists to make sure their clients have the best experience possible. I live about 35 to 40 minutes away from the office in Thornton in Denver proper, and the drive doesn’t bother me at all because I know I’m walking into a place where each time I’ll walk out better and more understanding of my addiction so that I can heal and continue in long-term recovery. If you are committed to living a more full life, and your goal is emotional and mental sobriety, as well as sobriety from your drug of choice, GO TO CMAR. You won’t regret it.

Working in the behavioral health field, I’ve referred numerous clients to CMAR, and the outcomes have consistently been excellent. The staff is highly skilled, compassionate, and responsive — truly dedicated to helping individuals on their path to recovery. Their outpatient programming is well-structured and evidence-based, offering flexibility without compromising quality. What I appreciate most is their collaborative approach; they communicate regularly with referring providers and truly value continuity of care. Clients have shared positive feedback about feeling respected, supported, and empowered throughout their treatment. I wouldn’t hesitate to continue recommending CMAR to anyone seeking meaningful, professional substance use treatment in an outpatient setting.

I truly couldn’t say a negative thing about Sandstone Care in Denver; they are amazing. I was in one of the lowest points of my life when I reached out to Sandstone admissions and even then, I received the best care right off the bat. My admissions coordinator, (Kevin Clark) was incredibly helpful and informative and even mentioned some of his own story to make me feel more comfortable and confident in starting this new journey in my life. I started the program in their PHP group and I first noticed that it felt different from the other treatment facilities I had ever been to. I felt comfortable, accepted, and safe. It was a new, but warm feeling. In the PHP group, I learned several /new/ ways of looking at the different issues I was going through. It didn’t feel like anyone was blaming me, but more like “these are things I am struggling with; okay, what can I do to make them feel less awful?” This is something that made Sandstone different for me - they actually helped me, as the individual, build new foundations and discover my values in life. After I finished up their PHP program, I stepped down to IOP and from there, I felt like a new person. I noticed that my self-esteem was growing and that when I was going through my lower moments of time, I could actually recognize what was happening and control the situation. Now this was huge considering I have been struggling with Anxiety/Major Depressive disorder since 5th grade. I could not figure out the words to describe the weight lifted off of my chest after completing my time at Sandstone Care. For anyone considering treatment for yourself or a loved one here, I would seriously recommend it. I was hesitant at first because of the question, “what if it’s just like every other mental health facility?” It’s not and I will die on that hill. During my time at Sandstone, I worked closely with the lead therapist, Sam, the program director, Mike, and the family therapist, Elliot. Each of these individuals made such a huge impact on my mental health journey and I am just so grateful for them. They really do make a difference.

I loved this place so much to say the least. Sometimes it can be frustrating and anxiety inducing trying to find a good place to get treatment, especially when dealing with insurance companies. When I first reached out, I made the call in the early afternoon and they had me in the very next morning to do the intake!! I participated in the Adult PHP program and enjoyed every second of it, made many new friends and found every reason to stay sober. Shout-out to Sam and Wyndi, they are the best there is!! ❤️

No where can do that for you ,that's all up to YOU. How bad do you want to change ? That's what you need to ask yourself , and then decide if your ready to do whatever it takes . I know in my heart these people will do whatever they can to walk beside you . but this is your journey and you gotta be willing.

I can’t speak highly enough about the staff at Aspen Ridge Recovery. From the moment I arrived, I felt genuinely seen, heard, and supported. What stood out the most was the integrity and authenticity of the team—every therapist, counselor, and staff member truly cares about the people they’re serving. This isn’t just a place that goes through the motions. The staff takes time to get to know you as a person, not just a diagnosis or a case file. They’re consistent, honest, and deeply committed to helping you heal. Even when things got tough, they showed up with compassion and accountability, which helped me trust the process and stick with it. If you’re looking for a place where people actually care, and where your recovery is taken seriously in a safe and respectful environment, Aspen Ridge is that place. I’m beyond grateful for the experience and the people who helped me through it.

Sandstone Care Boulder is an integrative drug and alcohol rehab for adolescents and young adults. While I was a little hesitant getting into treatment like most, the staff at sandstone were extremely patient and caring throughout the whole process. I attended and completed the dual diagnosis iop program while in treatment the staff at sandstone did an amazing job to make me feel welcome and comfortable and addressed and concerns quickly and effectively. The groups were very involved and really challenged me to grow as a person. After treatment I’ve been attending the alumni program that meets regularly and does fun events. It’s been a really good way to connect with others in the sober community and to get the extra support when I need it. I would highly recommend looking into sandstone if your considering treatment or haven’t found a place that’s right for you.

I went through sandstone twice. Once when I was 18 and again when I was 19. At the time I was not willing to admit that I had a problem with substances. I thought I had everything figured out. The years after I had graduated the program I was able to prove to myself that I still knew nothing about my alcoholism. I am grateful for sandstone since I wouldn’t have even been able to have any type of knowledge about my own substance use if it wasn’t for the amazing staff over at sandstone. They helped me get my foot through the door into the world of recovery. I don’t know where I would be without sandstone and I am beyond grateful for the effort the staff puts in to help people with their mental health/substance abuse. I now have a great relationship with my family, a true connection with my friends and most important I have a life worth living now. That is just the surface of what recovery has brought into my life. I have sandstone to thank for that!

Things I loved Sandstone Care 1) Group therapy, and learning new skills. 2) Once enrolled you can also schedule individual therapy. 3) After graduating the program you are invited to Alumni events. So you always feel connected to the program and get to meet previous graduates of the program. Some events I’ve been to were Lantern Festival, Animal sanctuary, Game Nights, and many more. There are also zoom sessions. I really am thankful for the Alumni group and coordinators for always checking in.
