Alpas was the greatest decision I ever made for my life and recovery. I came feeling lost, broken and disappointed in myself. It gave me structure, honesty, and the chance to rebuild my self respect. There were hard days and good days but the staff never gave up on me from the facilitators, therapist, caseworker down to the other patients. I learned how to sit with uncomfortable feelings, take accountability, and believe that I’m capable of more. I’m leaving with clarity, hope, and a foundation I didn’t have before. I’m truly grateful for this second chance.

ALPAS Wellness Center is incredible. The facility feels more like a boutique hotel than a treatment center—clean, bright, and filled with calming artwork. My room was spotless and upscale, featuring a modern walk-in shower and a very well-organized feel. The staff's professionalism is unmatched. Huge thanks to Brandon and Jimmy for their daily kindness, and to my Case Manager, Mr. Darryl, who went above and beyond handling my FMLA paperwork and transition of care. I owe my recovery to my therapist, Ms. Meghan. She helped me uncover deeply buried patterns and gave me the tools to find a clear path forward. I arrived with mental health challenges and left with strength and clarity. If you are suffering from addiction or mental health issues, do yourself a favor and call them immediately. You will be grateful you did.

My opthamology tech was very knowledgeable and helpful. She advised me on future appointments and when I'm doing upgrade. She went over and beyond for me. I really enjoyed the appointments at the VA Clinic just don't mind them at all. Thankful they are there for me. Her name is Denise so shout out girl I think you're awesome. Thanks for fixing my right hearing aid I'll try not to break it again LOL

I go to VA 2 Clinic. The staff has always been exceptionally nice and helpful. And the care has been as good as I've received in both the Military system and Civilian. I'd highly recommend this team.

I want to thank TT and all the other members of the Snowden team from D unit. Throughout my stay there, the staff were super efficient and very professional. There were a few times where other residents set off a few of my red flags but the staff was always there to help and led there support. Best to you all and keep up the good work!

Love the pediatrics team here! NP Kang is the best, I love when my children get to see her. I always feel like she validates me as a parent and listens to my concerns and her nurse is amazing too, she always remembers my kids names!

Quick pick up of meds.

My four-year-old son was admitted to the Pediatric Unit and I was blown away by our experience. He was a direct admission from our pediatrician and that process couldn’t have gone smoother. I very much appreciated being able to skip an ED visit and just walk straight onto the unit. We walked into our room and immediately found a Jared box, a backpack full of toys, and a colorful, warm blanket. My son was so excited to see these special touches and was so comforted by them- the Jared Box was a huge hit and absolutely saved the day. Our nurses – Hannah, Taylor, and Anthony – were incredible. I especially want to shout out Hannah and Taylor – they were outstanding. They put me at such ease with their professionalism, efficiency, and compassionate care. Taylor was also just incredible all night long. Once I was able to get him to sleep, she went out of her way to make sure his vital checks were so quiet and unobtrusive that he never even woke up. She also managed the messier moments of our stay with such grace, and I just really appreciated the way she cared for my son. Dr. Chanock and Dr. El Bash were both amazing as well. I deeply appreciated Dr. Chanock asking me to step into the hallway to discuss the care plan so as not to create more anxiety in my son. This was such an unexpected and thoughtful thing and allowed me to concentrate on processing the plan without managing his emotions at the same time. I have such a deep appreciation for the way this team cared for my son, and we could not have had a better experience on the Pediatric Unit. Thank you to the entire team!

Reviews often seem emotional and the hospital is rated accordingly. Objectively, I have to say the everyone who took care of my husband, from room cleaners, nurses, care managers, techs to doctors, was extremely professional and showed genuine interest in getting him healthy again. I could not have been more impressed, thank you.

I spent eight long days at Mary Washington healing from a brutal domestic violence incident. The care and patience and kindness I received from every staff member on Four South was unmatched by any stay I’ve had in my life. I’m sixty one and had many stays from the doctors to the sweet ladies that kept my room spotless to the accommodating kitchen staff it was pleasant. They didn’t let me suffer in pain. The food was shockingly good. I felt like royalty. The care I was given had as much to do with my healing as the medicine I was given. I’m off to a rehabilitation center now and will miss them. If I could give them ten stars I would give them ten stars. I’m giving them ten stars in my heart.

I gave birth at this hospital twice and had a great experience both times! I can’t thank the wonderful nurses and staff enough for all of their kindness and support during L&D. I can’t remember everyone’s name but a special thank you to nurses Hannah, Jordan, and Angela (postpartum). Also, I’m so glad I took advantage of the great lactation services that were available. Andy and Diana were both wonderful and helped us so much with breastfeeding. Like most hospitals, the food was probably the only issue for me but the amazing people of UVA made up for it. Thank you all!

Very professional staff and high quality work

I had a great experience with this facility. I ended up here after going to another facility that provided me with extremely poor service at another ER in the area. The other facility after 6 hours there sent me home with pain and nausea meds. UVA Medical was very thorough in evaluating me and decided within an hour I needed to have my gallbladder removed. Dr Darr was my surgeon and had a wonderful bed-side manner and took great care of me. Other staff that took amazing care of me included 3 nurses Urvi, Beth and Phillip. My tech, Melissa was the best as well.
