They are the best substance abuse help i have ever had, and I have had my share. They always take care of me. They listen to me and its not just a cookie cut type of style where one style fits all its what fits me. I love it and I will always come here even when I'm done with my meds. Maybel always makes me laugh and it messes with my blood pressure all the time (that's my excuse). Dona always has on fresh kicks and I'm jealous. Stephanie will always make sure I'm good, making sure I take care of my self. She really cares which is rare in my experience. Fatima digs and makes me deal when I don't want when I know I need to. The team makes it work. That's why I would recommend this place again and again. I feel comfortable and really think its going to work out this time due to them all.

This place is full of love, compassion and dedication to helping patients become their best selves. The Jude House has creative outlets for the patients like open mics where they can sing, play drums, guitar and share their songs and poetry. There is always a lot of laughter and support. They are investing even more into The Jude House now offering trauma informed yoga, music and art.

Choosing a rehab can be a really overwhelming process, and I’m so happy that Alpas was recommended to me. From the moment they picked me up until the moment they drove me home, the staff was nothing but supportive and encouraging. Leaving was bittersweet - we shared a lot of laughs and cries, and they stuck with me through it all! This was a great experience for me. The clients were friendly and became my family - we all lifted each other up and kept each other on track. The Maryland location was clean and they were accommodating to any requests I had. I want to give major thanks to my therapist Cydnie, case manager Daryl, facilitator Jackie, the nursing staff, and the amazing BHTs, specifically Jordan, Melody, Holly, Shawna, all the Mikes, Salacia, Stan the man, Sean, Steve, James, Amber, Bri, Kirby. When I came in I was on a cane and then wheelchair and I left on my own two feet thanks to the motivation I got from you guys. I will definitely come back as an alumni and I highly recommend this place to anybody seeking treatment! 10/10!

I really enjoyed my time and met a crew that will be apart pf my life many years to come. My therapist was the best shout to Crystal B. George W. thank for your help while I was at the facility getting all my paper work done. Dwayne and Abby you guys are the best. Super nice and caring. The nurses were all awesome except Rene. She would not give me all my medications and the same time and I was within parameters of my B/P I explained to her all the nurses gave them to me together. I asked for policy or orders from NP that they could not be given together and only comment she could make was a good nurse would not give them together. She does not need to work with mental health patients because she is going to make some one flip out on day. Helma the NP that works on the weekends is rude I was having a asthma exacerbation using my rescue inhaler 4-5 times in 24 hours struggling to take a full deep breath and she told me it was my fault I got this bad because I didn't remember to tell the nurse I use long acting inhaler and refused to order me prednisone. I had to beg her to order steroids. She is another person not fit to deal with mental health patients. Lastly the cafeteria lady with faded blonde hair cut . She was rude loud and would use a cow bell to get our attention to come inside and eat by 5:10 PM and dinner was not over until 6 PM. She would pack plates for the housekeeping staff and all her friends before the patients would all get to eat. Don't let it be a night when we have something half way deceit she would have ten containers if not more piled high by 5:15 PM. Oh and we were not allowed to use the sink in the dining hall to wash our hands. She would tell us we had to wash them in the bathroom. She was terrible. Despite the negative encounters I would still come back to Alpas because overall this was a wonderful recovery house and is was super clean

I wanted to document my own experience here. I came here before in a moment where I did not feel safe being alone and suicidal. I have dealt with severe depression for a decade and PTSD. They figured that out. Never been screened for ptsd despite already seeking mental treatment elsewhere. This place saved my life. I had really wanted to get better for so long and I had held on for as long as I could. Nothing had truly helped. It was inpatient for 10 days, and then with the PHP program with the AMAZING ladies over there! In my own experience the only negative was the way some of the nurses (inpatient) talked down to patients at times. A really special shout-out to a nurse named April! (Inpatient) She went above and beyond to take care of me while I got extremely sick taking new meds. It truly was the worst I'd ever been sick and she took care of me like I was her own child. Having lost my own mother, she had no clue how much it really meant to me

I have been to snowden 8 times in one year, fair to say I know majority of the staff and security. Some of the staff dont care about their job and it'll show. For context I go to the adolescent unit. Ms. Tara, Tiffany, Jen, Debbi, Summer, and the security guard Kam (I call him milkdud, lol) are thr only people who i can VERY much tell care about the patients. They truly made my stays at snowden so much better and made me see the light at the end of the tunnel. Kam the security guard even got me to stop self harming because of his words of motivation. Dr. Alli & Becca are also the sweetest people ever, they truly care about their job. As many times as I have been go snowden, they never once gave up on me. -Ellie

My name is Avery, and I discharged from this facility on October 21st, 2025. I believe a lot of the reviews on the Fairfax location are due to the patient's determination to comply with treatment rules and progress. I came into this program unsure of my ability to succeed, but I pushed myself because I wanted recovery. During my stay (one month) I repeatedly told my peers that they could not phase up/earn privileges if they didn't want sobriety. My therapist, Tracey, was amazing. She made an effort to personally connect with me and was patient with me on my worst days. Tessa, a BHT, showed consistent faith in me and went out of her way to support my peers and me. She balanced respecting program rules and treating us like humans very well. Other staff I value for their assistance towards me would be Mo, Luis, Antonio, and Esther (nurse). Whilst my stay wasn't perfect, it was mostly due to the other patients I lived with. Ex. triggering language, outbursts, and maladaptive behavior. I encourage future residents to take these reviews with a grain of salt. I didn't always agree/like every staff member - but that is human experience. If you have an issue with the facility, talk directly to staff instead of criticizing them via reviews. Special thanks to Discovery for helping me begin my sobriety journey and build new skills to manage my depression/anxiety.

Look, no hospital is perfect. But after three nightmarish weeks dealing with the deadly hospital system in Mississippi, we moved my elderly parents to Virginia for better care. Daddy had a GI bleed unexpectedly shortly after we arrived, and we had a great experience at MW ER and on floor two. Momma and daddy were stunned that they could enter an ER and go from intake to operated on and fixed in less than 24 hours. Nurse Judith was a standout, and so were all the others we had in the unit. Care manager Shaka helped us with all needs, too, even the sillier ones. The residents took time to answer all our questions and never rushed us. I’ve been attending MWH with ill family for two decades now, and this was a smooth and efficient, but kind experience. Best we’ve had. MW just continues to get better and better. We are grateful for the care we got at MW.
