When I first came to The Ranch, I was at one of the lowest points in my life. I didn’t know who I was anymore, and I honestly didn’t think I could turn things around. From the moment I got here, the staff treated me like a human being — not just another client. They cared about me, they listened, and they pushed me to see the parts of myself I’d forgotten about.
This place isn’t easy — but it’s real. The therapy, the groups, the community, and the peace you find out here in the middle of nature… it all works together in a way that’s hard to describe. I learned how to open up, to trust people again, and to actually believe I’m worth recovery.
Every single person here played a part in helping me heal — from the therapists and counselors to the techs who stayed up late just to check on me. I’m leaving here a stronger, clearer, and more grounded version of myself.

I was super nervous coming here but those nerves eased before my first day was over. The staff, the other clients, the house, just everyone & everything was so warm & welcoming. Everyday at The Ranch was filled with love & kindness. The support at The Ranch is phenomenal, I recommend this place 10 times over!! I came in to JACOA in May of 2023. I had been thru SOME SHIT. To say the least. And I needed some help and guidance on how not only to better myself, but HEAL myself.
And I tell you what. JACOA did that. Am I a completely healed human? Nope. Do I credit them for everything I've accomplished this far? Yes. Because THEY gave me the tools I needed. Every one of them. From the head honcho, down to the monitors every night taking us for chill breaks. I love them, to the core. Beth was an amazing counselor, and the rest of the counselors were awesome too. Kudos to a really great staff.
To elaborate? They taught me how to handle my anxiety and my stress. Without booze. Without weed. Just myself. Learning to live sober, was probably one of the best adventures I've lived so far. Because that, was wild. I read ten books in 28 days. I hadn't picked up a book since my mother died, nearly 9 years prior. And I was an avid reader.
I begged for the library keys, and eventually, I didn't have to beg. I was given them, because I proved I was responsible and could handle a door.
It takes one door at a time, sometimes.
And hey, the food wasn't too bad either!

JACOA was so amazing I went there twice!! I had been a chronic relapse for 20 years and the last treatment center I ever had Tn go to was JACOA!! That says a lot about who they are as a substance abuse program. The staff met me where I was in my journey with compassion and kindness ,because most of them had their own personal story of recovery. They got me! They really understood me!! They went above and beyond quarterbacking my care all the way to safe housing when I graduated the program. If you or a loved one are suffering with alcohol or substance abuse issues call JACOA! They will take care of you!

Edit: after 3 years directors have changed and now they enjoy playing games and seeing people fail. Right when you are starting to do well. Go 5 years without a bad drug screen and they'll find another way to screw you.

Went to Howenwald campus approx 12-27-22. wanted to stay on med assist so the sent me Clarksville campus. I had a peer that also came from howenwald was like 2 wks ahead of me. After 30 days i think you can work, have your vehicle, you keep your own meds 3days worth then4 days for a wk. They do count daily. When i first got to Clarksville, they help you with food stamps, you can get walmart groceries delivered. The house i was in was 1 of 3 in a cul de sac. about 15 min from office. Descent 3br 2 ba homes a few yrs old in typ subdivision. Counselors were very helpful and caring. The head lady was having an affair with a peer. The housing next to office are older and thats where they put u when u first get there. There were a few bugs at the 1 hse basement floor not infested. They had descent foam mattresses. All the houses i was in had smart tvs in lr. There were 2 fridges per hse and a dedicated stand up deep freeze. All in all had a very good experience. Still clean to this day 8/8/25. Havnt been to sub dr since oct or nov 24. Still have a few left. I tapered myself down i was on 2 a day in buff vall. Only took 1 or 1.
5. Last dr visit i was down to taking 1/4 or less. Take a small piece every other or 3 sometimes less. I recently lost my mom last month. It was definitely worth the time and effort to get clean so I could care for her the last cpl yrs. I give Buffalo Valley 2 middle fingers up. Probably owe them my life. And Thank You Brent Andrew Morgan, for the ride and helping me get in and even helping with clothes, underwears, and toiletries. I love you brother!!! Stay strong you will get to come home soon.

I really like the program. One of the best available. I've tried others that were way too expensive. Took money and kicked you out in a couple of weeks. These people are nice and care. They will try again and again. I highly recommend.

I am a family interventionist and have been in recovery for over 16 years. Although Hope center ministries has had some growing pains their core is true service. I have seen men facing unbearable situations go through Hope center and come out productive members in the community and not return to incarceration or addiction.

Great people doing a great job. I have been to two handfuls of rehabs and halfway houses, and this is the best one. Because they are not money hungry vultures. They care about and do what is best for their clients, not what is best for their pockets. Thank you so much to the staff and the guys at Jack Gene.

The staff no matter what their title may happen to be as always been professional and helpful. Staff is very caring for the residents, facility is always clean, never have I encountered any foul smells while walking through the facility. I would recommend this facility.
