AltaPointe - EastPointe Hospital is a mental health treatment facility in Daphne, Alabama. They serve adults through inpatient treatment and aftercare services. AltaPointe Health is accredited by The Joint Commission. Inpatient care usually serves as a starting point for those new to recovery because it’s the highest, most intensive level of
Leaving a review on purely the juvenile side. Firstly it does offer benefits and the staff do try to help you out to the extent of their ability to, though the amount of care or help you get is Highly dependent on what staff is working in your unit on that specific day so at times its iffy to say the least, they do offer schooling Wich is a plus. Laundry is done for you if you set it within a laundry basket at the end of the day Wich is also great as well as 3 meals Breakfast,Lunch,Dinner. and 3 snacks a day. You usually get put in a room with a roommate but if your a no roommate person (The reason you sent there usually) Decides if you are an no roommate person and not allowed to have one. Things this place needs... Firstly some roommates are disgusting and cant clean up after themselves and it unhygienic would be nice to have someone clean it out. Secondly more availability to people who CAN change things for example, medicine, room, portions of food. all of that and get your stuff brought in approved... because doctors are only available at certain times and you cant just sit down and talk when you want Wich kinda sucks but I do understand they have stuff to do. Thirdly from a patient perspective it seems sorta-kinda understaffed and like their underpaid sometimes by the way some staff just don't care.. you ask them for something and their dismissive or tell you to shut up. All and all if some issues are fixed and certain things are improved upon this could help more people in the future, I hope this review is taken into consideration and maybe things could be changed? like reviewing staff behavior towards the youth side. Thoughtfully -Cw Patient (used a different account, all we had.)

I was put into ASU on 2-24-16 my last day of drug usage. If not for the diligence of Dan, an ASU counselor who got me into R2R, I would not be sober today. I completed the R2R program on 6-10-16. At first I had a difficult time adjusting to requirements of the program. So much so about 3 weeks into program progress, my counselor even informed me of how close I was to being asked to leave. I was allowed to continue and later was given a 14 day extension to complete all program tasks. It was because of my counselor Robert, prodding of another councelor Gwen, and staff members Larry and Tom, all of whom gave me the understanding of how important my sobriety would be. Because of all of those people I have been sober for 4 years 4 months and counting. Without R2R, its employees, Dan of ASU, and outside volunteer meeting leaders, I can not imagine how horrible my life would be without sobriety. I owe my life to each and everyone of those people. If you are in need of addiction intervention there is no better program than ROAD TO RECOVERY.

I Have to say thank you to the behavior techs and supervisors who put in the work to keep me and others safe. The problems I've had here include many things breaking, uncleanliness (a staff forced me and another client to clean a day room that had not been cleaned in what looked like months if not a year.), staff using point sheets as a weapon to make kids scared, some of the staff are just downright petty. I can't say I wasn't helped, The clinical director (Scott Smales) Was so so helpful and helped sort a lot of problems. Behavior tech just don't care a lot along with some supervisors. Thank you to the ones who did do the work they were supposed to and thank you to the interns and my therapist for making my stay somewhat less scary.

About 2 years ago the clinic I was attending was shutting down. So I decided to transfer to BHG Grand Bay facility. I was very concerned about if I would remain at my current level within the program because I've never transferred before. This facility was amazing and making it swift and easy, and told me I would not have to start over and could continue with where I left off at the previous clinic. I was worried about coming here due to the mixed reviews I have read and heard about this place, but am glad I came here instead of the other options. I live an hour away, and staff is very understanding and hears me out when needed. They try and make sure everyone is treated equally and in and out as quick as possible. Hiccups do happen, but all in all it's a great place, and new positive changes are happening. Carly the new Director is awesome, and very involved to ensure everyone is heard and knows she/they care. The nurses and pharmacist are great and Ingrid the front desk receptionist is on point. I can't speak for everyone, but as for me, my experience has been great, the staff treats me with respect and listens to any concerns, very laid back, but not to be mistaken that they are about their business and following the rules. As long as you do your part, they will do theirs to help. I would Definitely recommend this place if you are looking to start your recovery journey. Big thanks and shout out to all the Staff at BHG Grand Bay, thanks for your dedication and all that you do to help make my life better!
