Turnover is extremely problematic, and people with mental health concerns need stability and consistency. This year I decided to give it a try and honestly could say it was one of the best decisions I made. Cierra has been extremely knowledgeable and good at what she does. She breaks things down and connects with you on whichever level you need and doesn’t sugarcoat anything. I highly recommend keeping her around when her license gets pushed through. Turning point rehab is a gorgeous brand new building it's like staying a hotel without the pool. Caz Recovery Inc did an amazing job by selecting Renee to be the program director as well with selecting Alyssa to be Assistant director. And this is my thought of each staff member. Renee has always had time to speak with me and she is never on her personal phone at work everytime I see her she's work hard as always. If it wasn't for Renee allowing me to take my NYS Barber Exam I wouldn't of had my barbers license and here's the kicker Caz Recovery set me up with access vr who paid for my schooling and tools so Renee =5* Alyssa is very fair and reasonable any time I needed her for anything she was right there and shes an amazing yoga instructor she gets 5*. Every single counselor Jess Eric Michelle Javier and Sarah and little Debbie were always respectful and caring and gave me great information and always supported me and any time I asked for help or to teach more about self sabotage or anything they took the time to do so and I feel like I built and great unique relationship with each and everyone there. Yoga is a voluntary group no one is forced to do anything they don't want to. I had Regina as my doctor as tph not Theresa and they supplied me with my meds they never took me off any medication ever so they were both great to me. John the driver who was my counselor twice is the most straightforward dude I ever met I built an amazing professional relationship with that man he has Never once encouraged anyone to drink or do drugs nor did any other staff member. Jose is also great he has helped me in more ways than anyone I can think of. The entire nursing crew CJ Brie and Deb always made sure I had my refills and they scheduled all of my appointments any time I was sick they made sure I was seen and got the proper treatment I needed. As for the Night staff Ron and big money Mike they were always down to earth and cool as hell to talk to them 2 guys are true gems. Turning point helped me get my life back and find myself again they supplied me with housing treatment, a barbering career and many great times. What other rehab will take you to Walmart meeting the beach and bison and bills games NOT ONE but turning did all of those things for me plus Alot more. Turning point truly cares it's the residents who come in and don't want to be clean are the ones who get mad and trash talk the place because the doctor takes them off of Narcotics in a inpatient treatment facility where the residents who want to stay clean can stay clean so if u don't want to be clean don't come to to turning point but if u do wanna get clean and receive the best medical care groups and help as possible then go to turning point. The doctors are genuinely caring, and the main intake nurses are some of the most wonderful people with beautiful souls. Over the past five years, I've had two counselors, and they just so happen to be the best two I've had in my 17-year battle with addiction. The staff, in general, is incredibly kind and respectful—they don't treat you like a "junkie." Instead, they approach each patient on a case-by-case basis, which is a refreshing contrast to programs that enforce rigid, one-size-fits-all rules. Genuinely a good person, I highly suggest horizon. I never have a problem getting through to them on the phone, they answer quickly, their text reminders are very helpful and the staff is honestly always great. Very straightforward to get an appointment and the people seem like they genuinely care. I leave with relief and out of any other office I’d highly suggest this one. Now, I can't speak on how well the clumsiness actually know how to "counsel" as I use methadone as maintenance and have been "clean" for many years. Scott Van Thof 1 year ago Saved my husband's life he's been sober for 16 years now in the beginning I thought it was impossible he was so bad but the first week he started being treated for his addiction he was doing a lot better and before we realized it's been 16 years this November I know it doesn't work for everyone and I certainly do pray for them but It worked for him and I'm so grateful to CHS/Dr.Updike/Staff for being so dedicated to the cause of helping us recover... The food is good, you can tell they care to give good options and bring up reasonable requests. A kitchen with snacks is open on the adult ward so it's one less thing you have to ask somebody for, really nice. Unfortunately, the staff are very hit or miss. Some frankly don't care if they are upsetting you if you're not completely deferential and thankful, like a lot of places. I still have no clue if the nurses want me to wait patiently or interrupt them at the nurses station. I braced myself every time I needed something. A male doctor in admissions insinuated I was coming in because my period was due. Got very condescending treatment at times and then told to act rational, even though I was voluntary. So, if you handle that kind of stuff well when you are essentially caged in a building then, you will get a lot of great amenities. If you can handle it for a few days to adjust I sincerely mean it when I think you may have a much better time here than other places. I have too much medical history & thought I was past it and I'm not. I'd like to say thank you personally to Donnetta and Janice and my counselor, you made me feel really welcome and seen, I think I would've totally panicked without your presence.
