I took my son there when he was about 17 or so (he's 23 yrs old now) and they changed his life! He has autism and bipolar manic disorder. He wasn't diagnosed correctly at McKenzie Medical and the Dr here got him on the correct medication. We no longer live in Tennessee but I hope they see this and know he's still doing great (except for the seizures) Thanks for helping my son when no one else had a clue!
I'd like to add that the medicaid in Tennessee is horrible! No dental or vision coverage??? What's up with that?? and finding a good Dr, especially a psychiatrist is a huge task. Glad to be back in Ohio where my son and I both are well taken care of physically and mentally. And we both have dental and vision coverage.

The difference between this treatment center and the rest has to do with the exceptional people that work there. They're non-judgmental, compassionate, they're not critical of us when we make a bad judgment call. This is they're statement "Triumphing over opioid addiction by integrating treatment, counseling and COMPASSIONATE PATIENT CARE THAT SAVES LIVES". The last sentence is remarkable, true and they mean it. I've been addicted over 40 yrs. I've wasted an entire lifetime. This is the first TX center that didn't make me feel ashamed, judged and no one working there is anything but special, caring, compassionate and kind. I've never got clean out here before. I'm about to pass up 3 months now. Very excited about this life changer. Thanks to all of you at Cape Girardeau Metro Treatment Center. Apex Recovery saved my life. I've never been to rehab before and didn't know what to expect. I never felt so loved and cared for in my entire life. I also thought that a rehab would have me "fixed" after 28 days. I learned pretty quickly that that was not gonna be the case. So they let me change my discharge plans several times. They were patient with me and found what they thought would be the perfect option for me. They suggested I go to Sober Living. I didn't like the idea but I was willing to do whatever it took to remain clean and sober. The place they suggested for me was a place called Sheep to Shepherds. So after 42 days at Apex I transitioned over to Sheep to Shepherds. It was one of the smartest and best decisions I ever made in my entire life. With Sheep to Sheperds I was given structure and accountability as I made my journey from dying on a hospital bed to being a productive member of society. If it wasn't for Sheep to Shepherds I believe beyond a shadow of a doubt that I would have relapsed and with everything that comes with relapse I wouldn't be alive today. I can not say enough good things about Sheep to Shepherds. From the founders of the company at the very top are some of the best men I've ever met. They genuinely care about you. I've seen countless times them go above and beyond to do whatever it takes to help their clients anyway they can. I've literally seen them pull money out of their literal pocket to help someone. The enviourment is unlike I've ever been a part of. With so many personalities under a single roof you may think that would never work and it would be chaos. But that couldn't be farther from the truth. The atmosphere at Sheep to Shepherds is one of love and family unlike I ever would have imagined. I've gained so many brothers and have felt privileged to be a small part of so many peoples journey on their way to better their life. I will forever be in debt to Sheep to Shepherds. Again they saved my life. I would recommend Apex and Sheep to Shepherds to anyone who is going through the same struggles I was going through.

I enjoy working with my Psychiatrist and Therapist.
They are warm and welcoming. I did not feel judge or uncomfortable speaking to them.
My only complaint was having to wait a year to start seeing the Therapist, however I was able to start seeing my Psychiatrist right away.
Also I use the pharmacy at the CCC, Genoa. The keep track of my prescriptions and will refill them when needed and let me know they are ready to pick up. I never have to work about running out if I forget to get the refill.

My Son unfortunately had to come to Mcdowel for some mental issues that he had been dealing with. The staff was amazing with working with my son and his mental health. They were able to get him on the right meds and get him on a better path for himself. He was a different kid coming out in a great way. I am so thankful for the staff for taking their time working with my son and im grateful for the facility! Thank you Mcdowel.

This place is pretty awesome as far as rehabilitation facilities go.
MAT Program handled through free grants. Somewhat supervised by staff.
The administration is what you'd expect from the field. They're human; most of them genuinely interested in seeing clients better themselves in every way. You get what you put in, and a few of them are willing to build lasting relationships that can become the foundation of a new, positive social network should you plan on staying after treatment.
They give you more than enough rope to hang yourself with, that's for sure. If you're looking for babysitters, this isn't the place. This is a program designed to quickly and efficiently get you back on your feet. You keep your cell phone and everything.
I'd recommend it to anyone except individuals literally rendered unable to care for themselves by addiction. Don't know where I'd be without them.
