I just want to start off by saying that if you are having trouble getting or staying sober, There is hope. Foot Prints Beachside Recovery and all staff have gotten me to not just learn this but know in my heart that there is light at the end of the tunnel. I’m 38 years old and can’t remember a time where I had any sort of sobriety. Today I am a little over 7 months into this journey to a healthier way of life and I could not think of a better place for anyone else to be to also get this same help, guidance and love than with Foot Prints in Treasure Island Florida. The Staff. The location. The housing. The activities. In the past 7 months I’ve been in treatment I couldn’t not have asked for anything more. I’ve never been treatment. My experience at Footprints Beachside Recovery was truly life-changing. Through their program, I was able to experience 90 days of sobriety and gain a completely new perspective on life. The therapists were compassionate, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in my recovery. My therapist, Randi in particular, helped me work through challenges and develop the tools I needed to move forward with confidence. While I did not stay in the housing program, I saw firsthand how much effort the staff puts into supporting clients at every level of care. From transportation to AA meetings and recovery-focused activities to team-building events and recreational outings, they do an excellent job creating a supportive environment. One of the unique aspects of the program is its location—the beach is only a short walk away, providing a peaceful place for reflection and healing. Recovery is never easy, but Footprints Beachside Recovery gave me the structure, support, and encouragement I needed during an important chapter of my life. I am grateful for the experience and would recommend them to anyone seeking help and a fresh start.

Footprints was the exact Recovery treatment I needed. While I was in and out of some facilities that were all more of a “lockdown” style recovery, they felt forceful and reminded me more of jail then anything else. That may be what some people need however for my personality I needed something more welcoming, felt like it was my decisions and didn’t have me more worried about getting out of there then actually learning anything. Footprints is exactly that. Randy is not your typical therapist that reminds me of a detective “decoding you”. She felt more like a friend that listened, used other stories to relate to yours and never was afraid to call me out when I the devil on my shoulder was doing the talking for me. 10 stars if possible. I could go on but to keep it shorter, their program works! Sergio and Danny are some incredible guys, we’re in the same time as I and now part of the staff there. They Always held out a helping hand and a prime example of how well it works. I now have 1yr 7mo and have accomplished more in this short time that I have my entire life. Thank you Footprints!

This Place is Unmatched in the Freedom they Give you. The Housing is Upscale and Comfortable. My Favorite is the Beach that is 10 minutes the bus literally takes you straight to the Beach and straight back to the house. I want to give a shout out to Brandon a.ka Coach B he is an Amazing Tech and motivation Speaker. He truly Cares and it shows in how he treats Everyone just like family. Also Shout out to the Case Workers Ashley & Zeck they do so much for us, and of course the techs Mindy, Kurt, Dominique, Sprite, Chris , and Renae and Bri. Shout out to the program Directors Jen and Kristin. Guys this place will go out of there way to help you If you show you want it and Work the Program. On Sundays they buy Delicious Catered food and we leave to do a fun activity. For example Bowling , mini golf ect. I recommend this program to all that Need the Freedom to work and or Enjoy what St. Pete has to Offer. Come with a Humble Mindset and can do Attitude and watch how this program will change your life.

Honestly can't say enough good things about this place. I learned so much in just 30 days there. My case worker Sammy n my therapist Joel went way out of their way to get me the help I needed. If you apply yourself there you can really retain a lot. There's a bunch of amazing counselors that run groups that you can get a lot out of. An also a great amount of extra circular activities. If you're looking for a place to start your recovery in Southwest Florida. This is the place.

I live in another state now. I came into this place homeless after having been on a 1 year drinking binge, facing 70 years in two states. Initially, I was only here to "hide-out", and then I began seeing all these people come through who had the hope of sobriety. After staying here for one month, I was sober, had hope and turned myself in, that was the start of my current 9 years of sobriety. This is not a facility that is here to make money, it is hardcore and no frills, but looking back it was the best rehab I ever went to, all these places with millions of dollar budgets should take lessons from Turning Point, I will never forget it.

This is a “no-frills”, last stop for someone who is desperate to make it to tomorrow. If you want sobriety, are out of options and are willing to go to any lengths to get it, Turning Point might work for you. Your success rate is commensurate with the amount of effort you are willing to expend, your ability to follow instructions, and the degree to which you are honest with yourself. This place saved my life.

Par was a great place overall but when your six months are up you are scrambling to find somewhere to go. They DO NOT help in that area. To be completely honest it was the best rehab I've been to. It's the only one that I've stayed out of trouble since leaving.

Reading the previous reviews breaks my heart. But is also why I feel need to write our own personal review. My 13 yr old daughter was self harming and agreed willingly to go and seemed eager to get help. So while she was in that space I called around and after calling about 15 people who said either call the cops or bring her to the hospital (neither which I wanted to do because those resources were not needed at that time) I was able to get in touch with this facility. They told me bring her down and they would help her. So I took her there Wednesday morning and she was released Sunday evening. She was able to call me a couple times each day for about 5 minutes each call. Which I believe was helpful for the both of us. The staff also called me in between to keep me up to date with what was happening and I appreciated that as well. I went to a Saturday visitation which went pretty smoothly. I think unfortunately when it comes to mental health we want our loved ones fixed right then and there and unfortunately thats not how it works. My daughter personally loved the therapist. But thought the Dr on zoom was short and not very helpful short of asking her if she felt like harming herself or others. I explained to her with the following analogy that this place was basically like if you broke your arm and they couldn’t cast it right away. They wrap it up splint it and send you somewhere that can cast it up for you. She didn’t have anything bad to say about staff because believe me I asked. Although she was saddened that she had to be there, she was happy that they were able to help her and get the process of healing on the right road. As a parent this has been the most difficult and heartbreaking experience we’ve crossed so far. And I just wanted to share part of our journey in hopes that if there are other families suffering or on the fence that they know they aren’t alone and that this place for at least a short stay wasn’t as bad for us as what the other reviews suggested. May all of us and our loved ones be well, healthy and happy…

For my daughter, this place was a Godsend. It is unlike any facility you have ever come across. My daughter was terrified of seeking help due to additional trauma she had experienced in the many, many facilities she had been in before. All the websites of other facilities in Pinellas, Hillsborough, or Pasco County looked so promising, and it took a lot for us to help her decide to go to them. Unfortunately, once she was admitted, it felt more like a lockdown unit, and it was nearly impossible to actually receive help when so much trauma was being formed on the unit itself. Trauma caused her to dissociate as a coping mechanism in the first place. For seven years, we tried so many different facilities that ultimately made her worse. We even traveled to other states seeking care. As a mother, I felt ashamed continuing to place her in these settings when she deteriorated each time. I have been a nurse for over 20 years and have worked in psychiatric care for about 20% of my career, and I could have never imagined that such a wonderful place existed. She learned so much there—and has taught me so much as well. They provided all the necessary tools to cope with everyday situations, as well as more complex challenges. They were not solely medication-focused. The teaching methods went far beyond simple handouts. Group activities were frequent and extremely useful. This is definitely not a “churn and burn” facility focused on money instead of patients. The information wasn’t just presented—it was reinforced and revisited whenever real-life situations arose. For example, when situations occurred between patients where irritation or conflict developed, staff intervened not by punishment, but by providing tools to navigate the situation. They taught patients how to express their needs appropriately, how to consider another person’s feelings, and how to communicate effectively. I really could go on and on. I am a real person and a real mom trying to navigate life. This is not a program that just anyone can enter—you are actually interviewed to ensure a good fit. It took two trips to the facility for my daughter to agree to go. Once there, she stayed for close to a month without even asking to come home early. This was such a change from the frequent calls I received from other facilities, where she begged me to help her get out—though my hands were often tied. Thank you to all of the Wave Program staff for truly caring. I also want to thank the people who created this beautiful, genuine, unique, safe, multifaceted, and truly unparalleled program. Brandi K

I've been here twice and both times were honestly amazing in their own ways. The sta? treat you like family. The techs are always around to check on you or just talk if you need someone. The therapists really care and give you tools that actually work. I loved the outings, the art room and the fact that we could still have some normal things like our phones. It doesn't feel like a hospital, it feels more like a community that pushes you to get better. If you're thinking about coming here, do it. It's not perfect but it's real and it helps.

Windmoor is a safe place where individuals, like myself, have a platform to discuss common issues surrounding mental illness and addiction. During my treatment I felt understood by both,staff and other patients since we all have similar issues. The staff provided me with outside resources for the specific needs I required post therapy. The therapist are respectful of boundaries and are educated,therefore helpful in understanding individual needs. This program provides the knowledge and tools required for success we just need help learning how to use them. While I do feel there could be slightly more personalized treatment in terms of diagnosis and individual therapy, otherwise the care and facilities here were great, I met quite a few insightful and sensitive people (both employees and patients), and upon discharge I was given a solid list of resources to follow up on moving forward. All in all, I am very glad that I went and am satisfied with the experience.

This facility is VERY helpful and sympathetic with low income patients who need a lot of understanding, flexibility and accommodations for scheduling and mental health assistance. The Suncoast Center's office may not be fancy but it is VERY accommodating when a mental health patient forgets their appointment. You can show up and the staff will work to have someone see you that same day. If you need a different medication dose or if your prescription has run out, the staff at the facility will work with you so you can get your medication. Suncoast Center also provides financial assistance programs to low income patients. If you have low income, but don't have any health insurance, Suncoast Center can sign you up for low cost fees (around $10 payments for service appointments). Suncoast Center also offers free medicine via pharmaceutical company programs for low income patients. For example, certain effective, long acting, anti-psychotic injections are very expensive ($600 to $800 per injection) but if you qualify as low income and fill out the pharmaceutical program paperwork, you can get the effective medication for free. Suncoast Center provides a lot of helpful information to patients such as, law firms that help patients to get SSI Disability payments and paperwork assistance for patients with severe mental health issues to be removed from jury duty lists.
