White Sands treatment center in Plant City is absolutely amazing! When I arrived, I was feeling very hopeless and scared to say the least. The staff on hand helped me to see that a life without alcohol was worth fighting for. My therapy sessions and groups gave me hope that my life could improve immensely. This is a pretty solid facility. The staff of great and the center is clean- the community, whether you are there for addiction or E.D., is good too. I do have a few concerns or observations that I think should be made known before you consider coming. (EATING DISORDER)Your intake admin may or may not mention this to you upon you arriving: The facility uses payphones- $1 per 2 minute call. Washing machine and Dryer combined is $1.25. You'll be paying 1400 a day only to be charged again inside walls to make phone calls and do laundry.There are groups for both adolescents and adults, but both age ranges will have groups together on certain days, so if you're not a fan of being around adolescents as young as 12, good luck. It was a very common compliant that they will not consider changing any time soon. To get any outings (Walgreens/Restaurant), you will have to earn it by eating 100% for the day.Every patient is given a weekly contract of what they need to accomplish and what activities you can do. In addition, after your very first family zoom session, you will then be able to get visitations.Some nurses in the nursing station, when handing out medication, probably did not wear gloves. Popping a pill from a card into a medicine cup is one thing, but having them touch your pills with their bare fingers was very unsanitary. I believe it was an agency nurse who sneezed into her hand, and popped a pill into her hand to place it into my medicine cup.I'm addition to them not wearing gloves, they will sometimes mess up your medication. They might forget some of the medicine you need to take, they might give you more than you need. I personally need to take my medroxy for the first 10 days of every month. I made sure to ask if it was in my cup, but they somehow managed to not give me most of my pills and I end up missing a much needed period- I have PCOS and I need medicine to have a menstrual cycle.You're seen by a doctor every week at least once. Dr. B so far is the most complained against doctor that works there. It was a complaint that he offers unusual advice, gives aways pills, and there is a max of 30 secs you'll be in the office to see him. He has a scribe/assistant that he talks to on the phone, but he never disclosed that information to major of the patients there.The kitchen is very good. If you are in E.D recovery, they will cook anything the way you want it as long as it is possible substitute or meal to accomplish. I do have my complaints however. You do have to be very specific to the kitchen for what you want, or it will not be prepared correctly. Even if you are, there is still a chance they just will not even attempt. I have asked for foods to be steamed, only to receive them raw or frozen. I asked for potato wedges in which was a menu item for that day, but they gave me a slice of baked potato even though they had potato wedges in the buffet line.I think the biggest pro though with this facility is the fact that there's a stray cat that wonders outside to say hi to the patients. Your only way of staying sane here is by hanging out with the stray cat that we all love and care for.

This place really helps a lot if you just stick with it and want it for yourself everyone is super nice and compassionate and super helpful, and they are just there that do their job and they're all professionals, and they do very well at the job and they're very kind and they just want to see people do better, that struggle with addiction, but you also have to want it for yourself. The program works. It's definitely a great program. I definitely recommend it if you're struggling with an addiction. It helped me and I helped other people I know friends and family i rate it a 5 star and the staff you guys are awesome work very hard.

Started when I found out I was pregnant. I listened to my counselor and The Pediatrician they had offering classes advice and my baby girl was born full term average weight (7.4) and zero.... im talking not even 1 tremor or score over 4 withdrawal symptoms. She was a little jaundice but we welcomed her home at 5 days old! Amazing and now she's 6 and brilliant 👏 👌 😀 👍 🙌. PAR changed my life ❤️🩹💯💫🤟🫶🙏🏻

Very much someone who had an immediate aversion to recovery. Super grateful for this program. Offering services for so many different addictions. It was eye opening and humbling to be among other people who were going through a totally different experience than me, yet we related in so many unexpected ways. I can say I am a healthier and happier person because of the ED program. I often find myself even missing the time I was there, and I sit in nostalgia in recollection of all the things I’d learned. Forever grateful for the friends I’ve met, the knowledge I gathered, and the staff at TPOT. Highly recommend.

I cannot express how deeply grateful I am for my time at TPOT. Walking through the doors on my first day, I was terrified, hopeless, and unsure whether real change was even possible for me. Today, I leave feeling stronger, clearer, and more hopeful than I’ve been in years.

Don’t be fooled. It was hard to get to the point where you need this, so it will be equally as hard to get through it to get away from it, but I will say it’s well worth it to fight the good fight. Trust these folks with your life, and they’ll save it. I’m indebted to these people for the rest of my life. I am so grateful that I found them; they have changed me in ways that are so profound. Westcare is working great for me! A big part of that reason is from my counselor Abrina! She makes me feel that there are people out there that actually want to help me. If you ever are ready to get off the drugs you are on, this is the place that will help you get it done. They truly do care and are really trying to help you. Best thing that has happened to me in about 10 years. If you're really ready to get help this is the place to get it. But only if you're ready. Don't waste their time or money. Because if you're not ready I'm sure there's someone else out there who is. So don't take that spot up if you're not serious and ready. Because someone else needs it.
Update; It has been about 6 years and still doing great. It's worth it. If your ready make the call and get the help. They make things so much easier. And make it possible. They have all the tools U need to succeed this time. Good Luck 👌👍😎

Fairwinds saved my life. I've been sober for a year and a half and going strong because of the help I got there. I understand some people have bad experiences with methadone but in my personal experience it saved my life. I was at my peak rock bottom and this place has helped me quit fentanyl. I had my 1st appointment @ AMHC @ the beginning of Covid so all of them have been via video. So I have yet to meet these wonderful people face to face & yet I feel close to them. I think it's because every interaction I have with them, by phone or email, is positive. Over the phone I hear their warm, friendly voices; by email everything is taken care of quickly, efficiently & with caring & kindness. & that's just the Ladies @ the front desk. My ARNP, Cathi Stephens, is the sweetest, kindest, calmest, smartest help for my ocd I have ever had. She listens understands, empathizes, then guides & advises. She, & all these women to a degree, have helped me thru the acute grieving of my wonderful Husband & how it affected my disorder 2.5 years ago, r still helping me @ the stage I m @ now & will continue to help me to move forward. ABH has been the ONLY counseling that I've actually been able to complete in the last 9 years that I've been trying. They were very accommodating with sessions over Zoom given most of us can't drive & myself with 3 kids...not trying to find a ride or babysitter helped me beyond words with way less stress that I'd have to deal with somewhere else. I actually looked forward & will miss these sessions because of the others that I interacted with but more importantly Katie who truly has a calling for what she does. I came to ABH during a mental health crisis. I felt very out of control and they welcomed me with open arms. I just completed the full IOP Program and they have been nothing short of amazing. Told one of the psychiatrists there about my past suicidal actions/thoughts that I had while on an SSRI a couple years ago (2023). Also detailed that a part of my suicide attempt was taking a lot of Prozac, the SSRI that caused my suicidal thoughts/actions. So what did the psychiatrist prescribe me? A SSRI.
Unbelievable. It's like they didn't even bother listening to me when I mentioned I've had problems with SSRIs.
Avoid this place AT ALL costs. I'd rather pay $100s out of pocket, no insurance, for a private Psychiatrist outside of the BayCare network vs the $25 I spent with insurance over here. Every BayCare psychiatrist I've seen doesn't care about their patients much beyond the "are you suicidal" questions, and that depressed me more than anything else that's happened in my life.

I am beyond disappointed in the provider Sally Harrison, MSW. My son was scheduled with her as a new patient. At scheduling I was told to prepare for your first visit to be 2 hours (I was actually happy to hear they were going to take time with my son) we sat in the lobby well past our appointment time. Finally we were called back by Sally who sat us in her office. She introduced her self and asked why we were there. I explained my son has been feeling depressed and is experiencing some social anxiety in school also has a diagnosis and is being treated for adhd. She looked at my 16 year old obviously nervous son and said do you want be here talking to me he answered no she’s asked him do you want to harm yourself or others he answered no. She said she had to interview him to see if he was a fit for her and her a fit for him. We were in there for less than 10 minutes and she sent us away. Didn’t talk to him privately. Just didn’t try period. Very frustrating.

This is an amazing program that has done wonders for my daughter. They go out of their way to make sure you and your family are taken care of. Even though my daughter is the one needing help, the Healthy Minds program provides help and support for us as parents as well. We would have been so lost and afraid without Success 4 Kids and Families. Brittany is the most wonderful counselor for our daughter and is very in tune with our daughter's feelings and thoughts. Paola is so incredibly supportive and truly cares. Erin has really been amazing in coordinating help for us. Dr. Velasco is always there with a listening ear. This is where you go to get authentic books and other literature directly from AA, which is the original 12 step program. The book Alcoholics Anonymous is a must read for anyone who wishes to recover from the disease of alcoholism and stay recovered "a day at a time." There are also many pamphlets that target special groups and topics such as young people, medications in recovery, newcomers and women's topics. It is nice to be able to see the literature in person to decide what you want to get versus ordering online.

Heather the counselors and the doctor run a wonderful facility here. They offer freedom from active addiction a promise of renewed hope and a purposeful driven life free from addiction. My stay here a year ago also provided me the opportunity to live in their sober living home. The art, equine, yoga and reki thrapy sessions are incredible. I really liked the bio bed as well as my free time on the patio. 7 Summit Pathways reintroduced me to mindful meditation, grounding techniques and journaling. My counselor Doug was very encouraging. I was able to get a job near to their sober living house in Valrico and protect my anonymity. They had a nice dinner for the holidays and other clients families would join us. The van was always a safe drive and i always felt reassured and comfortable. They offer a native American Wellbriety meeting on Wednesday at 7pm i look forward to returning to again soon. Alot of these examples have helped me as i was able to keep my sponsor and take steps in the 12 step Narcotics Anonymous program. 7 Summit Pathways helped me keep living a productive good and healthy life. I just wanted to say how incredibly helpful and amazing Heather was tonight during a crisis. I reached out at midnight about a family member and was blown away by her kindness, willingness to talk/help, etc. I have worked in the substance abuse field for over 15 years and been a patient as well. I know that parts of the system can be broken at times. Heather went above and beyond what I have ever seen anyone do. She really cares and is a true angel.

June 2023, I attended Transformations and had a wonderful and very healing experience. I recently have celebrated 600 days sober from alcohol, which is what I went into rehab for. The staff was knowledgeable, respectful, and supportive. The living accommodations were top notch! It was a true home away from home feeling. I would not be where I am today without Transformations!
