I love this place! from the nurses to the staff and counselors, they all care! It’s a clinic it is what you make of it plain and simple. Of course you are time here will be miserable if you don’t follow the rules and continue to get high. If you choose to change your life methadone will do that for you. Yes, it’s a crutch, but I’d much rather be hooked on methadone than heroin/fentanyl! I’ve been on the Clinic since 2012 and it gave me my life back! I understand I’m not completely sober due to the methadone, but I can hold a job. I own a home, car and money in the bank! These are things I would never have if I were still using! I see some of the comments on here about how methadone has cost them their job and so on. GROW UP! Methadone didn’t do that you did that! You can only lead a horse to a river You can’t force him them drink it! I give this place 20 stars if I could for dealing with the crap I see on a daily basis! 😁

I absolutely love sophros!! I just moved to Flordia in June 2025. Fresh out of rehab from Pennsylvania. I struggled for 2 months before I got Insurance. Uneducated, craving and not myself. I Googled outpatient recovery centers and first popped up Sophros recovery. I called immediately and set up a appointment. I was accepted right away. I was shy at first and didn't participate in groups. But, I warmed up and I've learned so many great skills that I use daily. Last year 2024 I was hurt by a close family member and was awaiting trial. My therapist and the team helped me be able to open up and tell my story. While gone for a week I had so much support from the team and I did it! My therapist Rajon tells me "I can do hard things" and I did and continue to do so. Andrew helped me realize that sitting in the hurt is the best way to get through it. He also helped me get a wonderful job and establish a community. This facility is amazing! The groups, therapist, and all the staff are wonderful each with their own skills and techniques. It works if you work it. So do the hard things and you will come out successful. Thank you sophros for all the skills, support and understanding. I will forever be grateful for everything you taught me.

Sophros Recovery has been an incredible place for healing and growth. The environment is supportive, professional, and truly focused on helping people rebuild their lives. I was skeptical walking in but it didn't take long to feel like I was surrounded by people who genuinely care about recovery and the well-being of every client. Skylar, Louna, Veronica, and Tim and everyone else all played a huge role in making my experience meaningful. Each of them brings something unique to the —compassion, knowledge, patience, and real dedication to helping people move forward. They create a space where you feel heard, respected, and encouraged to do the work it takes to change. Recovery isn’t easy, but having a team like this makes a huge difference. I’m grateful for the support, guidance, and authenticity they bring every day. If you or someone you love is looking for a place that truly cares about recovery and personal growth, I highly recommend Sophros Recovery. They have truly changed my life and I thank them for that.

As a healthcare professional who has seen the long-term impact substance use can have on individuals and families, I don’t say this lightly — this is one of the best treatment centers in the Tampa area. The staff understand addiction beyond the surface level. They treat people with dignity, not judgment, and they focus on real, sustainable change. The environment is structured yet genuinely caring, which is a rare combination. From the moment you walk in, you can feel that this place operates with purpose and heart. In a field where quality truly matters, this center stands out!

As someone who works in the behavioral health field, I feel obligated to be honest: my experience at this treatment center was negative and, at times, felt emotionally unsafe. I did not feel supported in therapy. Instead, I often felt judged and singled out. Being labeled as “attention seeking” in a clinical setting was not only dismissive, but damaging—especially in a place where people are supposed to feel safe enough to be vulnerable. The overall environment felt unprofessional. There was a lack of respect and, at times, a noticeable tension that made it difficult to trust the staff or the process. Rather than feeling like I was in a space focused on healing, I often felt uncomfortable and on guard. In my opinion, this is not the standard of care people should expect from a residential treatment center. When someone is seeking help, they deserve professionalism, compassion, and a sense of safety—none of which I consistently experienced here. I would not return, and based on my experience, I would not recommend this facility—especially for women who are early in recovery and need a genuinely supportive environment. The BHT’s, chef Lesa, and supervisor were amazing. This review is more towards clinical and admin staff and their unprofessionalism.

I spent some time at this facility, and ultimately I had to leave due to a situation that I’d rather not get into. I’m choosing to let that part go and focus on what I feel is important to share. What I will say is that there were techs on the floor who truly showed up every day with consistency and heart. There’s one in particular I’m thinking of — I can’t recall his name, it wasn’t the easiest to pronounce — but he carried himself with a level of presence and care that didn’t go unnoticed. The kind of energy you hope to find in a place where people are trying to heal. At the same time, there was an undercurrent that didn’t sit right with me. I experienced what felt like retaliation and a strong sense of control in the dynamics behind the scenes. As someone seeking peace and clarity, that kind of energy can be unsettling. I also noticed a lot of internal tension being spoken about openly around clients. In my view, people in treatment shouldn’t be exposed to staff conflicts or internal issues. That space should feel grounded, safe, and focused on recovery — not influenced by things happening behind the curtain. It’s also worth mentioning that for a place that presents itself in a more holistic light, there seemed to be a strong reliance on medication. That may work for some, but it didn’t align with what I personally expected walking in. I share this not out of anger, but from a place of reflection. I hope the environment continues to grow in a way that truly supports the people who walk through those doors looking for something better.

My experience at Spring Gardens Recovery was completely transformed because of one person — Amilcar. Calling him a staff member honestly doesn’t do justice to what he is or what he does. He was the foundation that held everything together, the steady presence that made one of the most vulnerable times in my life feel safe, supported, and even hopeful. While others clocked in and out, Amilcar showed up with his whole heart every single day. He cooked meals that felt like comfort when people needed it most, kept the house running flawlessly, cleaned without ever being asked, monitored everything to make sure we were safe, and somehow still found time to check on each of us like we truly mattered. Nothing slipped past him, and no one ever felt invisible when he was around. Rehab is supposed to feel heavy — overwhelming, emotional, and difficult. But because of Amilcar, it didn’t feel institutional or cold. He created an atmosphere that felt alive, human, and genuinely caring. On the hardest days, his presence alone made things feel manageable. He didn’t just maintain the house; he lifted the entire spirit of it. There were moments when giving up would have been easier, but people kept going because Amilcar made you believe you could. That kind of dedication can’t be trained — it comes from someone who truly cares about the people he’s helping. Spring Gardens Recovery may be the facility, but Amilcar is the reason it feels like a place where real healing happens. His impact goes far beyond his role, and I will carry the gratitude for what he did for me for the rest of my life.

During my stay at Clean, I found that my life is worth fighting for. The staff really cares enough to allow me to be me and to find myself right where I'm at and not lost somewhere in my past using drugs and drinking alcohol. The staff has bent over backwards in caring for me if it were not for: taking me to meetings, giving me much needed medicine, holding very intelligent and intense individual and group discussions and therapy. I also suffer from PTSD and Clean provides special trauma sessions in treatment for something I have struggled with since being in prison for 7 yrs. If it weren't for Clean Recovery Centers I would be on the street homeless and probably using drugs. Thank you so much for this opportunity to change my life around. William Paul

Honestly can't say enough good things about this place. I learned so much in just 30 days there. My case worker Sammy n my therapist Joel went way out of their way to get me the help I needed. If you apply yourself there you can really retain a lot. There's a bunch of amazing counselors that run groups that you can get a lot out of. An also a great amount of extra circular activities. New Seasons Treatment Center truly saved my life. Entering the MAT program was one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever made, but it turned out to be the most life-changing. From day one, I was treated with dignity, compassion, and respect—not judged or labeled. The staff genuinely care. They take the time to listen, educate, and support you through every step of recovery. The structure, accountability, and consistency of the MAT program gave me stability when my life felt completely unmanageable. For the first time, I felt hopeful and capable of rebuilding my life. Because of New Seasons, I’m not just surviving—I’m living. I’ve regained my health, my clarity, and my sense of purpose. I am forever grateful to the entire team for believing in me when I couldn’t believe in myself. If you’re struggling and feel like there’s no way out, please know that recovery is possible, and New Seasons can help save your life too. #fiveyearssober

I want to say thank you to one of the ladies at the front desk. We don't have any friends or family near by so we have to go with our two youngest to some of the VA appointments. I appreciate her kindness and patience as my 3 year old girl was having a meltdown. She didn't want to be in the clinic and she didn't want her father to be in the clinic. I love the attention to detail I get there. They make me feel like family. With all the old service connected stuff going South on my body with age, they show great patience! UPDATE: 3/19/2026 Returned for annual physical and blood work. The bloodwork gals are extremely friendly, organized and fast. Returned for results about a week later. Front check-in desk very nice! Nurse Lindsey M Prater weighed me in and interviewed me and knew I was having a bad morning with problems and made me feel welcomed and calmed my BP down like family. She offered to talk with the shrink but she was better at making me feel human. Not rushing me at all even though they are swamped. Went on to see Amy Lynn Frantz, NP who was very patient and thorough. She takes the patients seriously with great bed-side manner. A great listener. I have to say that with all the cut-backs at the VA this team is on the A list. God bless you kind folks. I pray you get some more help.

I want to thank North Tampa Behavioral Health. The facility looks modern and clean and the staff was engaging, kind and nice people. This is the best mental health facility in the entire central western region of the state. As an American I get free top quality health insurance called Medicare A, B & D. The intake staff was very cheerful and engaging and attentive to the patients inside the secure facility. I got my new medicine for behavioral health and I couldn't be more happier with the results. My mood totally changed inside the facility from being completely sour to roaring with joy and comfort and remaining that way throughout my recent mental health journey. I'm usually very happy for about 90% of the time. I preoccupy myself with fun activities like bicycling and basketball but there are certain times that I fall into a hole of anxiety, depression and self doubt around 10% of the time overall but the new medication helps me to balance my mood and I physically feel better after taking my medication. If I ever have another mental health meltdown again I will go directly to this facility for proper healthcare and wellbeing updates. Don't be afraid to ask for help when it comes to mental health. Your mental health is important and you should evaluate yourself honestly and outwardly if ever or whenever you're in doubt ask for help before making a final decision that could end your life prematurely. I hope this helps someone who is in need of mental health. Speak outwardly about mental health don't be ashamed. Many people, millions of people remain undiagnosed in positions of grand stature and low stature. Seek help if you need it please. Try your best to look forward towards something new & uncomfortable. Try something new for a change that lasts. Ciao

All I have to say is that I decided to go into this rehab on my own. Nobody push me to go. I decided to turn myself in willingly and at no point in time was I ever treated disrespectfully or was I scared in anyway I felt totally comfortable and teachers are awesome. The curriculum was amazing and the overall experience was so good that I almost thought about relaxing is this day that’s how good it was and I highly suggest that anybody that wants to say their life do not think twice about it and just go and do it because it will be the best decision you ever made and it will save your life and it’s like no other program there is out there. I wish there was more programs out there like CRC And I can’t say enough good things about it. I wish they would take me back now but I don’t think they will because I’m clean so but don’t ever feel that it’s like any other place because it’s definitely not. It’s there should be definitely more than one of these facilities in the Pasco County area .

Lutz, Florida is home to the Morton Plant North Bay Recovery Center. This is a recovery center located inside the North Bay Hospital, a medical facility that sits in the northern outskirts of Tampa. I was recently a patient at this facility, and despite the difficult circumstances, I left feeling genuinely cared for by some truly exceptional staff members. Bobbie (nurse) stood out the most. She brought warmth and humanity to what could have been a cold, frightening experience. She talked with us, listened, and even taught me practical tools for redirecting attention away from trauma. Her kindness made a real difference. Kelly (nurse) also deserves recognition. When other staff declined to explain medications in detail, Kelly took the time to answer all my questions patiently and thoroughly. I also witnessed her gently helping another patient untangle and fix her hair when that patient didn’t have the energy to do it herself. That small act of compassion said everything about who she is. Thank you Bobbie and Kelly for reminding patients that they are seen and valued. You made a hard time a little easier.

I think i wrote my review under the wrong hospital but everyone was awesome for the most part. My name is Cameron Atwood and im still taking my medicine by some miracle. I went into this facility so psychotic i didnt know up from down. I had real people help me see the real lies i was telling myself. I thought everybody was the enemy and somehow people like Stephanie (The Goat) and even those who didnt believe what i believed like Peter broke through to me. The chapman there are amazing and i cant complement the Techs more doing gods work. I was nursed back to a stable point not from medicine but from the grace and compassion of the nurses and most of the techs! People like ASH, Sydney, Shy, and Patrick made me feel safe and comfortable in a foreign place. I cannot thank this facility enough and pray everyone gets the grace and compassion they showed me back in 10 fold. I can literally type for hours about how they helped me but my fingers might get tired. Oh and Richard and Gavin got me to trust medicine which im still having a hard time with but without this entire team i believe id still be unstable to this day. Again just to mention Nurse Stephanie is probably the nicest person I've ever met and the first person i fully trusted in Lutz. What I'm trying to say is the People working nursed me back to health not any medicine even though i will admit the drugs helped. Thank you guys for your kindness

I couldn’t have asked for a better experience to begin my recovery than Sabal Palms. The group classes go deep into the Psychology of addiction and help you understand the why so that you can address underlying issues that lead to substance abuse. They help provide a framework of healthy behaviors and coping skills. The group and the community you build with fellow residents is truly a family. The food was amazing and abundant, and the nature and scenery provides a serene environment for daily self reflection and mindfulness. I will always be grateful to them and can never thank them enough for what they did. I was apprehensive about going somewhere for 30 days, but it went by in a blink of an eye.

For my daughter, this place was a Godsend. It is unlike any facility you have ever come across. My daughter was terrified of seeking help due to additional trauma she had experienced in the many, many facilities she had been in before. All the websites of other facilities in Pinellas, Hillsborough, or Pasco County looked so promising, and it took a lot for us to help her decide to go to them. Unfortunately, once she was admitted, it felt more like a lockdown unit, and it was nearly impossible to actually receive help when so much trauma was being formed on the unit itself. Trauma caused her to dissociate as a coping mechanism in the first place. For seven years, we tried so many different facilities that ultimately made her worse. We even traveled to other states seeking care. As a mother, I felt ashamed continuing to place her in these settings when she deteriorated each time. I have been a nurse for over 20 years and have worked in psychiatric care for about 20% of my career, and I could have never imagined that such a wonderful place existed. She learned so much there—and has taught me so much as well. They provided all the necessary tools to cope with everyday situations, as well as more complex challenges. They were not solely medication-focused. The teaching methods went far beyond simple handouts. Group activities were frequent and extremely useful. This is definitely not a “churn and burn” facility focused on money instead of patients. The information wasn’t just presented—it was reinforced and revisited whenever real-life situations arose. For example, when situations occurred between patients where irritation or conflict developed, staff intervened not by punishment, but by providing tools to navigate the situation. They taught patients how to express their needs appropriately, how to consider another person’s feelings, and how to communicate effectively. I really could go on and on. I am a real person and a real mom trying to navigate life. This is not a program that just anyone can enter—you are actually interviewed to ensure a good fit. It took two trips to the facility for my daughter to agree to go. Once there, she stayed for close to a month without even asking to come home early. This was such a change from the frequent calls I received from other facilities, where she begged me to help her get out—though my hands were often tied. Thank you to all of the Wave Program staff for truly caring. I also want to thank the people who created this beautiful, genuine, unique, safe, multifaceted, and truly unparalleled program. Brandi K

I've been here twice and both times were honestly amazing in their own ways. The sta? treat you like family. The techs are always around to check on you or just talk if you need someone. The therapists really care and give you tools that actually work. I loved the outings, the art room and the fact that we could still have some normal things like our phones. It doesn't feel like a hospital, it feels more like a community that pushes you to get better. If you're thinking about coming here, do it. It's not perfect but it's real and it helps.

I wanted to share my personal experience with New Beginnings of Tampa — especially with Miss Ginny, who truly helped me during one of the hardest chapters of my life. I’ve taken a few days to reflect on how to write this review in a way that’s fair and honest. My story began when my father became terminally ill overseas. As a medical assistant and certified phlebotomist working at Tampa General Hospital/USFTGP, I made the difficult decision to resign from my job and return home to care for him during his final months. It was one of the most emotional and challenging periods of my life. I gave up my job, apartment, car, and even had to rehome my beloved dog, Peanut. After my father passed away, I was devastated but determined to return to the U.S. and rebuild my life from scratch. Coming back was far from easy. I had no housing, no car, and no income proof while waiting to start my new position at the hospital. Many housing programs required pay stubs, and shelters were full or unresponsive. That’s when I found New Beginnings of Tampa and spoke with Miss Ginny, who kindly offered me a shared room for $750 a month, including utilities and Wi-Fi. From the moment I met her, Miss Ginny’s warmth stood out — she reminded me of Dolly Parton: gracious, caring, and full of heart. She clearly explained the house rules, including curfew hours (9 PM–5 AM) and program expectations. At first, I misunderstood the structure and thought it was simply shared housing, so I accidentally broke curfew once due to a work-related reason. When I was told I could face eviction, I was terrified. But after explaining my situation and providing proof from my job, Miss Ginny gave me a second chance — something I’ll always be grateful for. During my stay, I worked 12-hour shifts, saved money, bought a car, and eventually moved into my own apartment. The program gave me stability, shelter, and structure when I needed it most. I also appreciated the safe environment — it’s a no-drug, no-alcohol facility with regular testing, which helps maintain peace in the home. Each resident has a fridge shelf, laundry access, and a full kitchen to cook meals. There’s a nice backyard patio where residents can relax, socialize, and enjoy visits from local wildlife — including peacocks, raccoons, and a friendly outdoor cat named Max. One important note is that attending church services three times a week is mandatory unless you’re working. Coming from a different faith background, I was initially hesitant, but I found the church community welcoming and respectful. Still, I’d like to kindly suggest that the program consider making church attendance required only once a week — this would give residents more flexibility to rest, work, or focus on personal goals. I also believe that asking residents, many of whom are financially struggling, to donate during services could be reconsidered with compassion, as every dollar counts for people trying to rebuild their lives. As for the housing itself, I do think there’s room for improvement. The property could use some maintenance and better organization, as space is very limited and shared bathrooms can get crowded. It’s also important for residents to keep their belongings secured, as items can occasionally go missing. Considering these conditions, lowering the rent slightly would make the program more accessible and fair. Despite these challenges, I’m deeply thankful for Miss Ginny and New Beginnings of Tampa. Her kindness, patience, and understanding made a tremendous difference in my life. Without her support and this program, I truly don’t know where I would be today. With gratitude, Amanda F.

I live here and feel very privileged to be able to got a bed,mr.nuttbrown was very nice who assisted me with support as there is huge homelessness crisis well, everywhere but, speaking here in pinellas county and you arrive places won't know as a human what to expect or how u maybe treated I would have to say after 2 weeks here it is above my expectations for a shelter yes you do have several roomates, but you have your own cubby areas to keep yr stuff and locker too, plenty of room to move about a bathroom and shower inside the room that alone has been a game changer and lifesaver!! As a female yes you have to be mindful of others, breakfast lunch and dinner, casemgnt.theres living for M and F, thrift store refferal they do try and people here care but my experience you have to care first and be honest with yourself and them to be able to help you being in denial does not help some folks feel like its just going to help itself being homeless 🙅‍♀️ you gotta start with yourself
