The doctor, my counselor, the front desk people, the dosing nurse at the first window, the intake guy, and especially Gina have all been amazing. I transferred from elsewhere and this place has been absolutely amazing. Easy to follow rules, genuine help, and no stigma for doing what you can to better your life. Gina is the one who does HIV testing. While there she hooked me up with CAN to treat my Hep C. They actually paid my insurance so I could do the treatment. Gina has a super caring and really has made a huge difference in my life. The hep c was chronic and debilitating to me. I can’t give her and PAR enough praise.

We are dedicated to helping the residents of Tampa, FL, find a better way forward in life. Our team provides personalized addiction treatment in a flexible outpatient setting. When I first walked through the doors of Sophros, I was at one of the lowest points in my life. That rock bottom everyone talks about. I had been to my fair share of rehabs and treatment programs and somehow could not seem to get sobriety to stick. I was hopeless, alone, and scared. But this place changed that, and set my life on a new trajectory I didn’t think was possible. This place is truly one of a kind. I hit the jackpot when I was assigned Shannon as my therapist. You’ll see her mentioned a lot in these reviews, and for very good reason. To bluntly put it, she saved my life. And I’m not being dramatic when I say that. Her wit, compassion, and dedication is one of the main reasons I’ve made it this far. She taught me to not complicate the uncomplicated, to stop trying to outsmart my disease, and get out of my own way. Simple truths, that seemed impossible to grasp. The entire team at Sophros is made up of some of the most caring humans I’ve been blessed to encounter. They didn’t give up on me, especially when I felt like giving up on myself. Shannon, Veronica, Rajon, Laura, Luna, Drew, and everyone else, make this a truly wonderful healing place. I’ve been through PHP, IOP, and hope to continue on with OP when that time comes. Thank you Sophros, for giving me the tools to get my life back. I will forever be indebted to you. “Never fear the shadows. They simply mean there is a light shining somewhere near by.” That light, is Sophros.

Outstanding program! Everyone is very welcoming and supportive. I was fortunate enough to stay in the new housing for the duration of PHP. It’s a good balance of freedom and accountability. As compared to being locked down like other PHPs I had considered. Sophros provided a number of different approaches in sessions to help keep everyone engaged. And my therapist Shannon was top notch. Definitely would recommend.

I have gone to many, many treatment centers in an attempt to adress my alcoholism. Countless. The staff at Sophros is unlike anything Iv'e encountered. They are not just a business, and we are.not just numbers. The individualized attention and care for our wellbeing is by far unmatched. I have the pleasure of having Shannon as my therapist, connecting dots and helping me see things that no other therapist has been able to do. Rayshawn, the senior therapist provides ART, a therapy I knew nothing about but honestly has changed my life in a big way. Tim, in charge of housing here, goes above and beyond for us everyday helping us set.ourselves up for success. Even the techs are amazing, Cam, Jaime and Tyler are always there to help. Top notch doesn't do it justice. I only wish I found them sooner.

As someone who works in the behavioral health field, I feel obligated to be honest: my experience at this treatment center was negative and, at times, felt emotionally unsafe. I did not feel supported in therapy. Instead, I often felt judged and singled out. Being labeled as “attention seeking” in a clinical setting was not only dismissive, but damaging—especially in a place where people are supposed to feel safe enough to be vulnerable. The overall environment felt unprofessional. There was a lack of respect and, at times, a noticeable tension that made it difficult to trust the staff or the process. Rather than feeling like I was in a space focused on healing, I often felt uncomfortable and on guard. In my opinion, this is not the standard of care people should expect from a residential treatment center. When someone is seeking help, they deserve professionalism, compassion, and a sense of safety—none of which I consistently experienced here. I would not return, and based on my experience, I would not recommend this facility—especially for women who are early in recovery and need a genuinely supportive environment. The BHT’s, chef Lesa, and supervisor were amazing. This review is more towards clinical and admin staff and their unprofessionalism.

I spent some time at this facility, and ultimately I had to leave due to a situation that I’d rather not get into. I’m choosing to let that part go and focus on what I feel is important to share. What I will say is that there were techs on the floor who truly showed up every day with consistency and heart. There’s one in particular I’m thinking of — I can’t recall his name, it wasn’t the easiest to pronounce — but he carried himself with a level of presence and care that didn’t go unnoticed. The kind of energy you hope to find in a place where people are trying to heal. At the same time, there was an undercurrent that didn’t sit right with me. I experienced what felt like retaliation and a strong sense of control in the dynamics behind the scenes. As someone seeking peace and clarity, that kind of energy can be unsettling. I also noticed a lot of internal tension being spoken about openly around clients. In my view, people in treatment shouldn’t be exposed to staff conflicts or internal issues. That space should feel grounded, safe, and focused on recovery — not influenced by things happening behind the curtain. It’s also worth mentioning that for a place that presents itself in a more holistic light, there seemed to be a strong reliance on medication. That may work for some, but it didn’t align with what I personally expected walking in. I share this not out of anger, but from a place of reflection. I hope the environment continues to grow in a way that truly supports the people who walk through those doors looking for something better.

ANR Clinic’s Advanced Opioid Treatment is located in Tampa, Florida. This is an outpatient treatment drug rehab facility that uses a scientific approach to recovery. They work with adults who need support for their opioid use struggles. This facility is run by an addiction recovery specialist, Dr. Waismann, and his support staff. Dr. Waismann
A friend of mine did ANR a year or so ago, and its like night and day. Before , they couldn’t do anything their entire life revolved around opioid, and now they are back to being like what I remember from years ago. The staff was really nice and kind, and supportive. So grateful for all they are doing to help people stuck in this crappy situation.

I'm just curious does this work well for opiates like methadone because I am reading about people who were on buprenorphine but methadone has a very long and unpredictable half life and have you had successful patients who were on high doses of methadone and still not have ridiculous cravings post procedure?
Brandon Shrader
I used the ANR Clinic to get off of Opiates that I had been taking for close to 10 years due to a back injury which led to 3 back surgeries. I was really skeptical about the procedure and believing that I would have no cravings afterwards, I did a lot of research and found someone on Facebook that had gone through the procedure and they reaffirmed everything that the ANR Clinic stated. From the first phone call to my intake at the Hospital as well as my aftercare I was treated with care and compassion by each and every member of the ANR Clinic. I had my procedure done on March 24th 2026 and it was the best decision I have ever made, I have never experienced any cravings and each and every day I am feeling one step closer to the man I was before ever taking opiates. I cannot recommend the ANR Clinic enough, if you are struggling like I was take the first step and call them, they will help and guide you every step of the way.

I recently completed 30 days of residential treatment at Riverside Recovery and am now continuing my recovery through their PHP program in New Port Richey. Going into treatment, I was admittedly hesitant. With my background in psychology, coaching, yoga teacher training, and personal experience with mental health and recovery, part of me believed I should be able to figure this out on my own. I wondered what treatment could offer me that I hadn’t already learned. Riverside quickly challenged that assumption. From the moment I arrived, I was put at ease by how genuinely pleasant and compassionate the staff were. The facility itself also helped tremendously. Rather than feeling institutional or clinical, Riverside has much more of a hotel-like atmosphere. When you’re already feeling vulnerable and uncertain about treatment, being in an environment that feels comfortable, peaceful, and human makes a real difference. The program is very AA-centered and spiritually focused. While I came in with some reservations about that approach, the emphasis on spirituality, accountability, community, and surrender gave me space to approach recovery from a perspective beyond simply understanding my behavior intellectually. For someone like me, that distinction mattered. I didn’t necessarily need more information… I needed to practice what I already knew with other likeminded/similarly experienced persons in a structured environment. My therapist, Bre, made a particularly significant impact on me. She is wonderfully no-nonsense and tells you what you need to hear, but always with genuine care. I pushed back more than once, and she didn’t let me intellectualize, rationalize, or talk my way around the work. She challenged me when I needed it, and I respect her tremendously for that. I also want to recognize Lane (BHT) and Shannon, the Client Relations Manager. Both are in recovery themselves, and there was something deeply meaningful about being supported by people who are on the other side of active addiction and alcoholism. Their presence carried a quiet symbolism of hope… a reminder that recovery is lived and possible. Maryann, one of the hospitality aides, also deserves special mention. She always seemed to have a smile on her face and treated me with consistent kindness and warmth. We joked around often, and those small moments meant more than she probably realized. In a setting where it’s easy to feel defined by your circumstances, she helped me feel human again… not a diagnosis, not a patient, and not a problem to be fixed. I’m now one week into PHP, and I’m enjoying getting to know Brent, Sara, and Anthony. The structure is helping me rebuild the basics of daily living and responsibility, and I can already feel how these building blocks are preparing me to move forward more productively after treatment. Ultimately, Riverside gave me something I didn’t realize I needed, an opportunity to stop trying to do everything myself and allow myself to be supported. Recovery isn’t something that can be completed in 30 days, but Riverside gave me a foundation, challenged my assumptions, and helped me reconnect with parts of myself that had gotten buried. I’m grateful for my new sober community and the people who showed for me during those 30 days and grateful to continue the work through PHP. If you’re considering Riverside, my advice is to arrive with an open mind… even if you’re convinced you already know what you need. Sometimes the most important part of recovery is realizing that knowing isn’t the same thing as doing, and that accepting help isn’t a weakness. For me, it was the beginning of learning the difference.

Honestly can't say enough good things about this place. I learned so much in just 30 days there. My case worker Sammy n my therapist Joel went way out of their way to get me the help I needed. If you apply yourself there you can really retain a lot. There's a bunch of amazing counselors that run groups that you can get a lot out of. An also a great amount of extra circular activities. New Seasons Treatment Center truly saved my life. Entering the MAT program was one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever made, but it turned out to be the most life-changing. From day one, I was treated with dignity, compassion, and respect—not judged or labeled. The staff genuinely care. They take the time to listen, educate, and support you through every step of recovery. The structure, accountability, and consistency of the MAT program gave me stability when my life felt completely unmanageable. For the first time, I felt hopeful and capable of rebuilding my life. Because of New Seasons, I’m not just surviving—I’m living. I’ve regained my health, my clarity, and my sense of purpose. I want to thank North Tampa Behavioral Health. The facility looks modern and clean and the staff was engaging, kind and nice people. This is the best mental health facility in the entire central western region of the state. As an American I get free top quality health insurance called Medicare A, B & D. The intake staff was very cheerful and engaging and attentive to the patients inside the secure facility. I got my new medicine for behavioral health and I couldn't be more happier with the results. My mood totally changed inside the facility from being completely sour to roaring with joy and comfort and remaining that way throughout my recent mental health journey. I'm usually very happy for about 90% of the time. I preoccupy myself with fun activities like bicycling and basketball but there are certain times that I fall into a hole of anxiety, depression and self doubt around 10% of the time overall but the new medication helps me to balance my mood and I physically feel better after taking my medication. If I ever have another mental health meltdown again I will go directly to this facility for proper healthcare and wellbeing updates. Don't be afraid to ask for help when it comes to mental health. Your mental health is important and you should evaluate yourself honestly and outwardly if ever or whenever you're in doubt ask for help before making a final decision that could end your life prematurely. I hope this helps someone who is in need of mental health. Speak outwardly about mental health don't be ashamed. Many people, millions of people remain undiagnosed in positions of grand stature and low stature. Seek help if you need it please. Try your best to look forward towards something new & uncomfortable. Try something new for a change that lasts. Ciao

CRC was life-changing and lifesaving for me, I was a patient there in 2007 and I've been clean and sober for 17 yrs, I was given a chance to learn about myself, my life, my addiction, my behavior and my recovery, and so much more, I'm grateful and thankful for Crc and I will never forget this place,

All I have to say is that I decided to go into this rehab on my own. Nobody push me to go. I decided to turn myself in willingly and at no point in time was I ever treated disrespectfully or was I scared in anyway I felt totally comfortable and teachers are awesome. The curriculum was amazing and the overall experience was so good that I almost thought about relaxing is this day that’s how good it was and I highly suggest that anybody that wants to say their life do not think twice about it and just go and do it because it will be the best decision you ever made and it will save your life and it’s like no other program there is out there. I wish there was more programs out there like CRC And I can’t say enough good things about it. I wish they would take me back now but I don’t think they will because I’m clean so but don’t ever feel that it’s like any other place because it’s definitely not. It’s there should be definitely more than one of these facilities in the Pasco County area .

My stay was 30 days July-August. Best decision I've ever made and not my first rodeo. Sabal Palms equipped me with everything I needed. An amazing staff! Administration, nursing, BHT's, cooks, therapist's, group sessions, therapy one-on-one's and a great cleaning team! All amazing! There's a swimming pool, water volleyball, basketball and tennis courts, football! Walking/jogging paths in the beautiful woods next to the campus! Meaninful AA meetings every evening, (not mandated, but different leaders coming in each meeting.) The campus is breathtaki ng. I've gained lifelong friends with some awesome peers walking the same path towards the same goal! Sabal Palms is a second to none facility and I highly recommend them!

I've been baker acted multiple times (as a minor, now an adult) and this is the best facility. As long as you work with staff, they'll do their best to get you in and out. I like that they do bloodwork in this location, and Monday through Friday are pretty scheduled (we don't talk about Saturday Sunday). They have a gym as well, which is great for getting engery out and feel lighter while at such a facility. I believe Ash and Stephanie were the best I'd interacted while there. Stephanie is a nurse who told me her honest opinion about my case and helped me process some final emotions, and Ash is a floor tech who was a Saint in getting answers for me, relaying messages, explaining why or why not things– and helpful for minor tasks like changing the TV or getting a snack. He genuinely seemed like such a nice guy, and it makes me glad someone like him is there for those who need someone to rely on while admitted. Overall, this facility is where I would choose again and again, whether for me or for others. They get you the help you need, make sure you're doing okay, and ensure you're stabilized before you leave. I'm thankful for those who helped me and I know they'll continue to help others as they need too.

I was recently a patient at this facility, and despite the difficult circumstances, I left feeling genuinely cared for by some truly exceptional staff members. Bobbie (nurse) stood out the most. She brought warmth and humanity to what could have been a cold, frightening experience. She talked with us, listened, and even taught me practical tools for redirecting attention away from trauma. Her kindness made a real difference. Kelly (nurse) also deserves recognition. When other staff declined to explain medications in detail, Kelly took the time to answer all my questions patiently and thoroughly. I also witnessed her gently helping another patient untangle and fix her hair when that patient didn’t have the energy to do it herself. That small act of compassion said everything about who she is. Thank you Bobbie and Kelly for reminding patients that they are seen and valued. You made a hard time a little easier.

I think i wrote my review under the wrong hospital but everyone was awesome for the most part. My name is Cameron Atwood and im still taking my medicine by some miracle. I went into this facility so psychotic i didnt know up from down. I had real people help me see the real lies i was telling myself. I thought everybody was the enemy and somehow people like Stephanie (The Goat) and even those who didnt believe what i believed like Peter broke through to me. The chapman there are amazing and i cant complement the Techs more doing gods work. I was nursed back to a stable point not from medicine but from the grace and compassion of the nurses and most of the techs! People like ASH, Sydney, Shy, and Patrick made me feel safe and comfortable in a foreign place. I cannot thank this facility enough and pray everyone gets the grace and compassion they showed me back in 10 fold. I can literally type for hours about how they helped me but my fingers might get tired. Oh and Richard and Gavin got me to trust medicine which im still having a hard time with but without this entire team i believe id still be unstable to this day. Again just to mention Nurse Stephanie is probably the nicest person I've ever met and the first person i fully trusted in Lutz. What I'm trying to say is the People working nursed me back to health not any medicine even though i will admit the drugs helped. Thank you guys for your kindness

I have been a patient of Advantage Mental Health for years, and I can't say enough great things about them. Dr Self is amazing, as are ALL of the individuals that work in the front of the office - Nikki, Suzi, Colleen, and anyone I may have missed. They are beyond supporting, encouraging, and caring and will do everything in their power to ensure they are able to provide me with what I need. Without them, my life would be very different. I've sought care at numerous doctor offices over my years and have never experienced the level of comfort and trust I have with the amazing people in this office. If you are someone in search of help, I could not urge you enough to reach out to Advantage Mental Health! It can be extremely tough, scary, and uncertain to find the right mental health provider to trust and I'm beyond thankful that AMH exists! THANK YOU FOR BEING WHO YOU ALL ARE!

I was a patient with Advantage from 6/2015 - 1/2019 Better late than never to leave a review. I had to reach out to them to inquire about my patient file for an unrelated matter. The assistance I received from Susan and Colleen was extremely professional. Their willingness to assist me with my inquiry even after 7 years of not being a patient was greatly appreciated. During my care with Advantage, I received the best care. The interactions with the entire staff was always top notch. Nearing the end of my treatment, I advised the Medical Professional I was seeing at that time that I felt that it was time for me to ween off my meds. That I felt like I was in a good place in my life. Together, we developed a plan to ween me off my meds and get me back to everyday life with out the needs of anxiety meds. Seeking help and finding Advantage was the best thing I could do for myself. Definitely recommend Advantage if you or someone your know is look for a mental health professional.

I had my 1st appointment @ AMHC @ the beginning of Covid so all of them have been via video. So I have yet to meet these wonderful people face to face & yet I feel close to them. I think it's because every interaction I have with them, by phone or email, is positive. Over the phone I hear their warm, friendly voices; by email everything is taken care of quickly, efficiently & with caring & kindness. & that's just the Ladies @ the front desk. My ARNP, Cathi Stephens, is the sweetest, kindest, calmest, smartest help for my ocd I have ever had. She listens understands, empathizes, then guides & advises. She, & all these women to a degree, have helped me thru the acute grieving of my wonderful Husband & how it affected my disorder 2.5 years ago, r still helping me @ the stage I m @ now & will continue to help me to move forward. Cathi, all my girls, THANK U. Jan

For my daughter, this place was a Godsend. It is unlike any facility you have ever come across. My daughter was terrified of seeking help due to additional trauma she had experienced in the many, many facilities she had been in before. All the websites of other facilities in Pinellas, Hillsborough, or Pasco County looked so promising, and it took a lot for us to help her decide to go to them. Unfortunately, once she was admitted, it felt more like a lockdown unit, and it was nearly impossible to actually receive help when so much trauma was being formed on the unit itself. Trauma caused her to dissociate as a coping mechanism in the first place. For seven years, we tried so many different facilities that ultimately made her worse. We even traveled to other states seeking care. As a mother, I felt ashamed continuing to place her in these settings when she deteriorated each time. I have been a nurse for over 20 years and have worked in psychiatric care for about 20% of my career, and I could have never imagined that such a wonderful place existed. She learned so much there—and has taught me so much as well. They provided all the necessary tools to cope with everyday situations, as well as more complex challenges. They were not solely medication-focused. The teaching methods went far beyond simple handouts. Group activities were frequent and extremely useful. This is definitely not a “churn and burn” facility focused on money instead of patients. The information wasn’t just presented—it was reinforced and revisited whenever real-life situations arose. For example, when situations occurred between patients where irritation or conflict developed, staff intervened not by punishment, but by providing tools to navigate the situation. They taught patients how to express their needs appropriately, how to consider another person’s feelings, and how to communicate effectively. I really could go on and on. I am a real person and a real mom trying to navigate life. This is not a program that just anyone can enter—you are actually interviewed to ensure a good fit. It took two trips to the facility for my daughter to agree to go. Once there, she stayed for close to a month without even asking to come home early. This was such a change from the frequent calls I received from other facilities, where she begged me to help her get out—though my hands were often tied. Thank you to all of the Wave Program staff for truly caring. I also want to thank the people who created this beautiful, genuine, unique, safe, multifaceted, and truly unparalleled program. Brandi K

I've been here twice and both times were honestly amazing in their own ways. The sta? treat you like family. The techs are always around to check on you or just talk if you need someone. The therapists really care and give you tools that actually work. I loved the outings, the art room and the fact that we could still have some normal things like our phones. It doesn't feel like a hospital, it feels more like a community that pushes you to get better. If you're thinking about coming here, do it. It's not perfect but it's real and it helps.
