After weeks of searching for a place that would take my insurance I lucked out and found Dr Schaeffer and Dr Asare. Both great guys. If you're at a low point in your life and need a doctor who cares then look no further. Thank you guys for being so flexible and easy to work with. I have to take the bus all over town and it's hard to be right on time for an appointment without being super early and the guys always work with me. They even stay super late one day a week to accommodate the people who work and can't make normal office hours. Five huge stars!

These doctors are the ones that care about the patient's health by keeping them on a simple program which keeps you on the right track. Dr Asare and Dr Schaefer take the time to listen to all you have to say to them about your situation. I am so thankful that I found this team of doctors at Advanced Care Physicians Group. They are certainly passionate doctors that really take the time to listen to your story. So do yourself a favor.

I came to The Wave not really sure what to expect, just hoping for some peace. It honestly turned out to be one of the best decisions I’ve made. The staff actually care. Like genuinely care, not just doing their jobs because they have to.The groups helped me a lot and I loved spending time in the art room and the gym. The food was decent and they even work with people who have different diets which is nice to see. It’s not perfect but it feels real and safe.

I've seen Dr. Puente for primary care multiple times. I feel this clinic is a great value and I received good care here! I'm able to pay for my labs thru the office and I really appreciate this. With no medical insurance, it's nice to know the upfront costs with no surprises at the lab. I appreciate that they are able to serve the community by keeping their prices affordable. I will tell everyone I know with medical insurance to go here. The receptionist is very kind and helpful as well!

This is a great place. The woman at the front desk is always very friendly. When I first came here, multiple pharmacies were out of Suboxone. She and the doctor went above and beyond to make sure I got my medication that day. Dr Puente is caring, compassionate, and knowledgeable. Eventually I switched to Dr Puente for my psychiatric care also, and have had an excellent experience. The level of care he provides for his patients is better than any doctor I have ever had. I drive 40 miles one way to see Dr Puente. To anyone struggling, I highly recommend this office and doctor.

Excellent treatment program, I would recommend Healthcare Connection over any other place. Most rehabs have pools, spas, and luxuries that actually harm your treatment progress. This is definitely the place you want to go if you want to succeed. My favorite part is that the staff understand what you are going through because most of them have been through the same process.

I came to visit my nephew and I can truly say my expierence was unforgettable the staff greeted me very kindly but ther was one staff in particular named tierra she did a absolute amazing job with my nephew despite the circumstances she was kind considerate understanding and compassionate when caring for him he told me she was the nicest one there very respectful young lady there should be more people in the world with a attitude and heart like hers if anyone has anyone in there if she still there I would recommend speaking with her 💙

Reading the previous reviews breaks my heart. But is also why I feel need to write our own personal review. My 13 yr old daughter was self harming and agreed willingly to go and seemed eager to get help. So while she was in that space I called around and after calling about 15 people who said either call the cops or bring her to the hospital (neither which I wanted to do because those resources were not needed at that time) I was able to get in touch with this facility. They told me bring her down and they would help her. So I took her there Wednesday morning and she was released Sunday evening. She was able to call me a couple times each day for about 5 minutes each call. Which I believe was helpful for the both of us. The staff also called me in between to keep me up to date with what was happening and I appreciated that as well. I went to a Saturday visitation which went pretty smoothly. I think unfortunately when it comes to mental health we want our loved ones fixed right then and there and unfortunately thats not how it works. My daughter personally loved the therapist. But thought the Dr on zoom was short and not very helpful short of asking her if she felt like harming herself or others. I explained to her with the following analogy that this place was basically like if you broke your arm and they couldn’t cast it right away. They wrap it up splint it and send you somewhere that can cast it up for you. She didn’t have anything bad to say about staff because believe me I asked. Although she was saddened that she had to be there, she was happy that they were able to help her and get the process of healing on the right road. As a parent this has been the most difficult and heartbreaking experience we’ve crossed so far. And I just wanted to share part of our journey in hopes that if there are other families suffering or on the fence that they know they aren’t alone and that this place for at least a short stay wasn’t as bad for us as what the other reviews suggested. May all of us and our loved ones be well, healthy and happy…

I have, and will continue, to recommend Groups Recover Together! If you're ready to change your life for the better; Groups make it easy! With various days/times to choose from, Intake is quick & private, the Counselor genuinely cares about you, the office manager will handle pharmacy issues, the Dr. knows not everyone's situation is not the same.If you don't have a sitter/car/feeling horrible from detoxing - (one of) THE BEST PART - you can talk, cry or just sit and listen from the privacy of your own home! And for someone like me, who suffers from social anxiety, even picking up the phone to make a Dr. appt can be challenging. I've been attending groups since 2022 when I relapsed after 8 years. And if the day comes where I am off the medication, I would still attend bc it's about more than just sobriety.. it's being there for people when they need someone.

I have been struggling with one form of addiction or another for over half my life. I thought it was a losing battle until one day a simple Google search I found groups recover together. It's like God put this group of people together to help folks deal with it. Everyone and I mean everyone from office manager, providers and counselors are amazing! If you are struggling and think that there's no help. Stop call groups recover together and work with them. They are there for you! I promise it will change your life. I'm going to fight the fight and I have the best help there is thanks to this company! Good luck

Westcare is working great for me! A big part of that reason is from my counselor Abrina! She makes me feel that there are people out there that actually want to help me. I know I can talk to her about anything that I’m struggling with and it’s certain she will always have the right answer! Big kudos to Abrina for carrying the whole program on her back!!!

If you ever are ready to get off the drugs you are on, this is the place that will help you get it done. They truly do care and are really trying to help you. Best thing that has happened to me in about 10 years. If you're really ready to get help this is the place to get it. But only if you're ready. Don't waste their time or money. Because if you're not ready I'm sure there's someone else out there who is. So don't take that spot up if you're not serious and ready. Because someone else needs it. Update; It has been about 6 years and still doing great. It's worth it. If your ready make the call and get the help. They make things so much easier. And make it possible. I wanted to share my personal experience with New Beginnings of Tampa — especially with Miss Ginny, who truly helped me during one of the hardest chapters of my life. I’ve taken a few days to reflect on how to write this review in a way that’s fair and honest. My story began when my father became terminally ill overseas. As a medical assistant and certified phlebotomist working at Tampa General Hospital/USFTGP, I made the difficult decision to resign from my job and return home to care for him during his final months. It was one of the most emotional and challenging periods of my life. I gave up my job, apartment, car, and even had to rehome my beloved dog, Peanut. After my father passed away, I was devastated but determined to return to the U.S. and rebuild my life from scratch. Coming back was far from easy. I had no housing, no car, and no income proof while waiting to start my new position at the hospital. Many housing programs required pay stubs, and shelters were full or unresponsive. That’s when I found New Beginnings of Tampa and spoke with Miss Ginny, who kindly offered me a shared room for $750 a month, including utilities and Wi-Fi. From the moment I met her, Miss Ginny’s warmth stood out — she reminded me of Dolly Parton: gracious, caring, and full of heart. She clearly explained the house rules, including curfew hours (9 PM–5 AM) and program expectations. At first, I misunderstood the structure and thought it was simply shared housing, so I accidentally broke curfew once due to a work-related reason. When I was told I could face eviction, I was terrified. But after explaining my situation and providing proof from my job, Miss Ginny gave me a second chance — something I’ll always be grateful for. During my stay, I worked 12-hour shifts, saved money, bought a car, and eventually moved into my own apartment. The program gave me stability, shelter, and structure when I needed it most. I also appreciated the safe environment — it’s a no-drug, no-alcohol facility with regular testing, which helps maintain peace in the home. Each resident has a fridge shelf, laundry access, and a full kitchen to cook meals. There’s a nice backyard patio where residents can relax, socialize, and enjoy visits from local wildlife — including peacocks, raccoons, and a friendly outdoor cat named Max. One important note is that attending church services three times a week is mandatory unless you’re working. Coming from a different faith background, I was initially hesitant, but I found the church community welcoming and respectful. Still, I’d like to kindly suggest that the program consider making church attendance required only once a week — this would give residents more flexibility to rest, work, or focus on personal goals. I also believe that asking residents, many of whom are financially struggling, to donate during services could be reconsidered with compassion, as every dollar counts for people trying to rebuild their lives. As for the housing itself, I do think there’s room for improvement. The property could use some maintenance and better organization, as space is very limited and shared bathrooms can get crowded. It’s also important for residents to keep their belongings secured, as items can occasionally go missing. Considering these conditions, lowering the rent slightly would make the program more accessible and fair. Despite these challenges, I’m deeply thankful for Miss Ginny and New Beginnings of Tampa. Her kindness, patience, and understanding made a tremendous difference in my life. Without her support and this program, I truly don’t know where I would be today. With gratitude, Amanda F.

New beginnings is a awesome place to start a new beginning in your life and so many people need a new beginning at some point in life.when I was living at new beginnings it was exactly what I needed because I needed help and they exceeded my expectations,they food is awesome and u will gain weight and management is awesome and will really help ANYONE.James,Curtis and Rodney are awesome management people the facility is clean and has a good atmosphere.
