My son was sent there and was excited about being in the welding program! I went for visitation and he was mentally and physically the best he had been In years. He was hopeful. He had been there almost 40days and had only received one write up. They kicked him out after one write up and said he wasn’t a fit for them. He was crushed. This place IS NOT A CHRISTIAN FACILITY. It is ran by a family who is taking advantage of the government funding that they are receiving. They receive 4,000 per child. Nobody ever finishes the program with any kind of certificate!!! The nighttime Staff is rude and talks to the kids like they are idiots. They kept his belongings that were beneficial for them and refused to give them back. This place should be ashamed for claiming to help the youth!!! They are in this for themselves !! Real Christians don’t operate the way this family does. I’m angee mcmillan 2 years ago

Staff is always courteous and efficient. That goes a long way. There are cons to VA but that's in the agency itself driven by the Federal government. Some of processes for specialty care, community care referrals needs to be more efficient and timely. I am pretty ok with VA for now as it stands There is always new policies and laws pending, some already approved some in litigation. Often we find out there are proposals that can be detrimental to the service and support to mission on the VA. As a spouse I can’t say enough good things about this rehab. This was his fourth rehab at other places and hopefully the last. The program is fair, AA balanced and the guys have to work to stay. It is extremely well run and organized and the guys know what to expect. The camaraderie between staff and residents is genuine and the program works if one wants it to. I've never found a doctor that I wanted to talk bout my issues with but the doctor there really listen to me and didn't make me feel like I was broken. When you call to set up your walk-in appt, the staff does not tell you that your case worker/PO needs to sign a request form & they will not see you if you don’t have it signed. Made my process longer by three weeks & was stressful. This not only happened to me, but to two other people on separate days. I had to come in the first time- was told to do a walk in assessment & was faced with this issue. I have yet to see the professional I was sent here to see, so this review is based on just the initiating processes alone- which are terrible & waste people’s time. ETA: The staff themselves in the physical building are all doing their best with what they can. Obviously the state of communications is a result of lack of support from the State & local government.
