My son has been a patient at Academy For Family Empowerment for several years. I am grateful for the ongoing care and compassion that we continue to receive. Awesome people, awesome staff, and I would and have recommended this facility to friends! Kind, caring counselors and nurses. I wouldn’t be here today if it wasn’t for these amazing people! Great caring staff.. they remembered my name my birthday and always worked with me to ensure my health and well being could not say enough good things about the center. Would recommend 100% saved my life!!!
I'm very pleased with my therapists services at Atlanta Psychotherapy! Even the receptionist provides excellent and exceptional services. I have been a dedicated patient for 10 years plus and never have I ever wanted to change to a different provider.

Their phone system is not very reliable during business hours as it does not usually have a response or voicemail.. however,when it's answered they are most helpful and will go all out to get the medication authorization request to go through the plan. Sherika the nurse is Great!!
Midway recovery is a nice program but the problem for me was one of the staff member he took my cell phone I'm talking about you going to take the other and he wasn't too professional to pull me to the side instead he showed off on me I wasn't going for it so I discharge myself

A wonderful establishment. This place was a huge stepping stone in my husband’s recovery. When he showed up to midway, he was a broken man, but he had an open mind and wanted better. The women at this establishment fed that want until it became a need. They nourished the seed in him until he grew and he passes that love that they instilled in him to the young men that are beginning their roads today by going back and sharing his story. He’s now almost 4 years clean. If you have a friend, family member, or you are struggling with deciding on a treatment facility, please choose midway. Recovery is possible ❤️
ASFC has helped me to understand and manage my anxiety. The combination of therapy and medication really makes a difference. My quality of life has greatly improved. I highly recommend ASFC.

Everywhere we tried there is a wait. Turnover is high, but that seems to be the thing these days. Nobody cares about the profession they themselves chose to be in, which is a shame. I can say they try really hard to turn it around. Good follow up and the wait time for the doctor has decreased a lot.
This is the place I first went to when I made it known my struggles with mental health. My mother found the closest place, via recommendation from a school counselor, and I have been with them since 2020 I believe. I have since become clean from many self harming behaviors, as well as went into therapy which has helped me so much. I absolutely love Natalie the therapist, she is such a good therapist and I enjoy talking to her even if it’s just about random things sometimes instead of therapy. My psychiatrist has had her moments, and I’m on the edge about switching honestly, but regardless she has helped me get onto some of the right medications and has tried her best to keep me up to date with bloodwork to check for any major concerns regarding my medication. And I appreciate her efforts to help me. I’ve switched through nurses about twice, but my new nurse Dale is wonderful. She’s gentle when taking blood, which is wonderful since I’m prone to passing out!! And she is funny, she has a very uplifting personality from what I can tell. Overall, I am pleased with this establishment. 10/10 on almost all aspects.

The staff was funny and understanding and could relate to the kids. but when i was there there was this lil girl that liked to try people then he had to have a set down on how to be better role models for the kids. Over all its a good place and some of the food is good.

I had the unwilling honor to spend Memorial weekend at Crescent Pines and I can't say I COMPLETELY wanted to be there; but I have to say, it actually really isn't a bad place! The staff is really nice and helpful. It was my first time in a place like this and it was absolutely not like anything seen on TV. We had three meals throughout the day and even a snack in the evening. If you didn't need medication they didn't force it down your throat. People don't walk around like zombies and really express themselves when they feel like it. If you're a smoker, they give you smoke breaks. You can't go out whenever you want but at least they allow you to have them. If you do what you're suppose to do, meaning; not showing out and actually following the rules, your time there will go by smoothly. The only downside is not being able to go to your room throughout the day. Like if you're tired, you would have to stay out in the community room and find a place to nap. You don't necessarily have to make friends but its helpful finding people you could pass the time with.

I had always heard bad things about Pinewoods. Staying there helped save my life. In the WellStar hospitals, people have to wait three days to be sent out -- Pinewoods makes that easier, you don't have to go anywhere but Pinewoods. They are open 24/7 days a week. You also can bypass being treated like a barnyard animal, wearing scrubs and using a paper blanket to cover up with. If the nerves are bad with a Patient, the last thing they want to be is in an isolation cell, hear others screaming in the cell next door, and feel judged by the sitters and doctors. As long as you don't go out there and act foolish, (due to fear or anger) You are treated with kindness and respect. Thanks to Pinewoods Staff.

My recovery started here. Wonderful place. I came in with nothing but a hat and a dead cellphone, wearing only hospital paper clothes. The techs made sure I had clothes and shoes when they took me home and they helped me with a 30 day supply of medicine. I learned a lot in group therapy and they made it fun. Thanks Pinewoods, from the bottom of my heart.

I think a lot of these reviews are either for the wrong facility or from people who were going through extremely rough times when they left their reviews. I didn’t have a great experience when I first tried to become a patient at this clinic, I knew I needed to establish mental health care somewhere and had just moved to the area. To be perfectly clear, I was not my best self without my meds and took it out on the front desk staff, even though it wasn’t their fault.
You CANNOT schedule an appointment to establish care over the phone. You HAVE to get there BEFORE they open on the days that they accept walk-ins. You can call to find out what days they do that or go down and talk to them in person for more information.
Treat the staff with respect and you’ll get the same in return. Basic human decency. They operate based on policies, not out of spite or as a way to make your life harder. They have genuinely caring staff and exhibit professionalism during appointments.

Great place in the 7 weeks there I never got up and regretted going to the meeting. The staff was amazing and treated everyone with great respect I highly recommend this place for recovery for professional patients for sure they target your profession directly getting you the help personally and mentally also completing the needed paperwork.

I want people to understand something important about the program. When you complete it and leave, the medications they use as “crutches” (like SSRIs) are not designed to be permanent solutions — but they don’t really prepare you for what happens when you try to come off them.
In my case, when I finished the program, I was left with nothing but “good luck.” No tapering support, no real plan, no follow-up guidance. The withdrawal from SSRI medication was a horrific experience, and I had to seek out a separate doctor on my own afterward just to cope.
People should know going in: the program does provide structure and tools while you’re there, but the aftercare is lacking, especially around medication dependence. Be ready to advocate for yourself and find outside medical support when you leave.
After 4 or 5 failed attempts to stop abusing alcohol I wound up at MARR. The day after my 50th birthday. I was extremely upset and disappointed with myself. But something told me that I belonged there. And I made the best decision of my life. To stay there.
I stayed for the mandatory 3 months and then an extra four more.
Not only did I learn to stop drinking and live life without alcohol, but I leather be an adult. To ask for help. And most importantly I learned that I was not alone in my life or my journey.
Wonderful place with great staff. You may not know it or believe it but this place is the BEST chance you have at getting sober and learning how to live a good life. Period.

MARR has been a wonderful experience for me. The entire staff is great. Always felt loved and supported. Learned a lot about myself and was provided the tools I need to live a happy healthy life. Very grateful for MARR and everything they do.

My time at MARR has fundamentally changed my life. I have a strong foundation in sobriety, many coping tools in my toolbox and a large network of sober men and women who I will forever call friends. I especially love the Professionals Program (ARP) where I participated in Mirror Image classes, working with peers who had overcome their addiction and achieved the life I wanted to be living. Recovery is truly one day at a time and MARR is the best place to make each day count.
I toured SWG with Noah Kaplan. He was knowledgeable, compassionate, competent. I also met John, the President. Noah and John have the greatest vibe—so poised for healing. I would recommend this facility to any loved one for treatment!
