Staff is great!! Tiffany L. Overstreet 4 years ago I have been learning to live with a horrible disease that can only be treated and never cured. I love Mrs. Burnadette. Excuse my spelling mistakes. I have no clue how to spell anything anymore. She works the front desk and she is excellent at it. Then there’s Ms. Ava she is wonderful. She doesn’t judge me at all for any changes in my vitals. She asks me about my mental pain and my health problems. She’s very understanding but she’s stern about skipping doses of medicine and waiting till I’m empty to order a refill especially if it’s the last one and they have to call Dr.Patel. To get an ok and it may take a couple days. That’s a very big No No. I absolutely love Dr.Patel. He listens to me and wants me to know that he cares about my illness and he wants to help me learn and put to work some coping skills for my life. Things are not the same and I’m going to have to learn how to live in my own way and learn how to be happy again. I am so happy to have such an amazing doctor that is trying to help me find a way to get happy in my new life. I trust everything he says and hopefully he will always be my doctor. and friend! Id say 95% of the staff are absolute Angels and are there because they actually care. I have been in and out of dr's for years trying to get help with no Luck untill I came to this place. Thankyou you guys for changing my life and getting me the help I needed. Ive never been able to think as clear, or get the mental help I needed untill now. April White 1 year ago I recently had the privilege of spending a week at Willowbrooke Mental Institute, and I must say it was a truly transformative experience. From the moment I arrived, I felt a sense of calm and serenity wash over me, thanks to the beautiful surroundings and the warm welcome from the staff. The facilities were top-notch, with spacious rooms and a serene atmosphere that made it easy to relax and unwind. The therapy sessions were led by experienced professionals who were knowledgeable and empathetic, and the group sessions were engaging and thought-provoking. But what really impressed me was the sense of community that permeated every aspect of the program. From the daily activities to the meals, everything was designed to promote connection and camaraderie among the residents. The staff went above and beyond to ensure that everyone felt supported and included, and I left feeling like I was part of a true community rather than just a patient. Overall, my experience at Willowbrooke was nothing short of exceptional, and I would highly recommend it to anyone seeking a compassionate and effective approach to mental health treatment. The most important part of recovery is finding something that works for YOU, and New Horizons has done that for me. Honestly, until a few months ago I still kinda felt like I was "stuck". But when Ena 🌹became my peer counselor, that definitely changed. She made me feel heard ( which is harder than it is for the average person with me) , but she also made me feel worthy, cared about. I could go on and on about the things that she and my counselor Emily🌻 have done for me in the past few months... They are both outstanding people and if you haven't had the same experience with them, I recommend that you try again, just sit down and tell Ena what you need from her. They help not only with recovery but she and April have boocoo resources to help with housing, food, jobs, ect whatever your needs are I promise that if it's possible she'll make it happen. And as for Emily, she is very understanding and forgiving with a huge heart. She has helped me more than she knows. I absolutely adore Ms.Lisa, she makes her job look easy but I'm sure it's not, I've seen people be so ugly to her and she just keeps on smiling, and the other young lady that checks people in ( sorry idk her name) she always is smiling, she is very genuine ,I've never felt judged or like I was unworthy. The nurses are all exceptional as well. Overall my experience at New Horizons has been wonderful and I highly recommend anyone looking for MAT to make an appointment there. (Primary doctor took EKG and not good). They were extremely polite and attentive. They did an EKG right away along with blood work. We ended up staying overnight. Hubby had cath surgery the next morning. He ended up having 2 blockages (not too bad). We went home that night and he's now on meds for his heart. I especially enjoyed the yoga and meditation classes in the morning that got you feeling relaxed and mentally motivated for the day. They brought you to outside AA/NA/ CR meetings plus hosted them in house and the YMCA is across the street if you’re want exercise. The food was delicious (with real silverware) so watch your weight. I love Mindy and Constance! Great counselors and staff, altogether. I would also like to mention a few more. Kim usually doses me 2 out of 3 days a week and gives me my takehome most times, and she, as well as the staff follow procedure. Very professional, but yet understanding and no judgement. There's every reason you can talk truthfully to any one of them. And then there's Elijah. Oh Elijah.... wouldn't be the same without him and his open eye. Nothing gets past him. He's a wonderful man of God. He and anyone here will go out of their way to help. Another thing I want to mention is the knowledge I've gained from Kim as far as other medical issues. Mindy is also great with things like drawing blood, for instance. That's a HUGE deal. If it doesn't work out, it's because my veins are small. They will not keep hurting you and one nurse doesn't mind giving another one a shot at it. Last but not least, gotta love Chad and Ken!! My Family is the best!! I love you, Mindy, Kim, Constance, Elijah, Ken, Chad, Carol, Cierra(sp?), and all my family here. I hope I left no one out. I don't know what I'd do without their listening ears and kind smiles and caring eyes. They all are equally Godsent. I had a crippling addiction to 7-0H. For those unaware its a concentrate of the molecule in kratom that causes opioid like effects. It felt almost as strong as oxycodone and is available otc for cheap. I was spending at least 30 bucks a day for 6 plus months and I wasn't even one of the worst cases. Tolerance builds quick. Its physically addictive just like pain pills. I started drinking every night from the stress and got physically addicted to that too. I did the detox program for 7 days and Im finally free and can actually hold onto my money. The staff and patients are so kind and you can smoke hourly. You can sleep as much as you need. Im staying on Suboxone therapy from now on. It you are hesitating to go please do it. I would have ended my life if not for them. Its the only program I voluntarily did and finished.
