Friendly and professional staff. I was able to use a prior AODE accredited program completion certificate and only had to pay for the assessment. If you live in NKY and have a DUI this is the place to go.

I recently completed the DUI class at Commonwealth Substance Abuse Services, and I couldn't be more satisfied with the experience. From start to finish, the entire process was professional, informative, and genuinely supportive. The staff are incredibly knowledgeable and always ready to help with any questions or concerns. Update: 526 days sober and going strong. I have definitely had cravings and vulnerable points, but have managed to stay sober thanks in large part to the ridge.
I'm at 8 months sober today and can say that the things I learned at the Ridge still help me every day- literally. I am still in the aftercare program and getting a lot out of it. If you need help this is a great place to build a foundation for sobriety (and abstinence from other drugs as well).
Summary: The Ridge is an excellent comprehensive treatment program for alcohol use disorder (and others). I personally had an exceptional experience with the residential treatment program, intensive outpatient therapy, and aftercare. Nothing about this experience was easy but I am confident that due to my experience with The Ridge I have a solid recovery foundation (I am just over 4 months sober currently).

My advice if you are going to a program like The Ridge (these things helped me to have continued success today)
-follow the rules, yes they may seem silly
-do awkward things they ask like getting a temporary sponsor and numbers at meetings
-listen to their advice, they may says things that sound stupid,my experience is that the things I think sound stupid end up being the pertinent ones
-try to relax into the time; enjoy not having to do a ton of chores, cook for yourself etc
-take the time to build a new hobby
I electected to go to The Ridge when I came to terms with the fact that I have an alcohol use disorder. I was receiving psychiatric care and my provider gently led me to acknowledge this. Two providers independently recommended The Ridge when I expressed interest in treatment.
Residential
I initially signed up for the 30 day program but decided to stay longer as I was getting a lot out of the program and am really happy that I did.
Residential days are very full. The beginning of the day is filled with groups. The afternoon has time for recreational activities (no naps). A lot of people take up pickleball during this time but there is also the option to go to the pool (when open), do art, write, etc. Evenings there are 12 step meetings in the community.
Accomodations
I stayed in a private room which I would say was Marrott quality. Cleaning services are provided. You are expected to make your bed (a pretty minor thing). The meals are excellent and snacks are freely available. The culinary staff are great- very personable and great educators. It was sufficiently comfortable and quiet enough to get quality sleep.
Nursing
Nursing staff were generally available and very helpful. Medication time windows could be a bit tight but were feasible.
Recovery support specialist staff
Recovery support specialists helped with sessions, daily questions, and herding everyone, They all have different personalities but in general were very easy to get along with. Supervisory staff were very helpful and responsive.
Counselors
Generally had very helpful sessions, individual counseling was very helpful.
I would highly recommend Roaring Brook. The staff here met me where I was at but didn't leave me there. Through the group therapy they shown me the importance of community, through peer support we was able to target flaws in my time management and through the counseling I've been able to recognize and deal with past hurts and learn and understand my emotions. This place has helped solidify my recovery and they can yours too!!

Very professional and caring staff. Has been a good experience and gave me the accountability I needed to get some time between me and the last drink so that I can get a routine going that can carry outside of here. Great place.

Lumiere has truly changed my life completely. I was treated so kind in inpatient treatment. The nurses , doctor and counselors were amazing.Im in outpatient now and still receiving top notch recovery! If you really want to change your life call and get help at Lumiere. As a family member of someone struggling with addiction, finding the right facility felt overwhelming and terrifying. Lumiere changed everything for us. From the very first phone call, the staff treated our loved one with compassion, dignity, and genuine care. They didn’t judge— they understood.
Watching the transformation that happened inside those walls was incredible. Lumiere didn’t just address the addiction; they helped rebuild hope. The staff made our family feel included and supported. They communicated with us, reassured us, and walked us through the hardest moments with patience and kindness.
What meant the most is that their support didn’t end when our loved one was discharged. They followed up, checked in, and continued offering encouragement and resources. You can tell they truly care about long-term recovery, not just the time spent in the facility.

Shepherds Shelter is an amazing program It is life changing to anyone who is willing to accept Christ into their life. I am now approaching 2 years of sobriety after going through this program. It has not only turned everything around in my life I would go as far as saying it saved me from myself and the life I settled for in addiction. I have been working as peer support since completing treatment, and am well on my way to obtaining an associates degree in Human Services. The treatment offered here and God have done many things for me I would never have done for myself. I not only recommend this program to anyone still suffering through active addiction to consider treatment through Shepherds Shelter but I encourage them to take that first step in surrendering to God and welcoming Christ into their lives by reaching out to this facility. Transformation is possible and we do recover...but it all starts with the individual!

I have been connected to this ministry for over 15 years and I have been able to see the consistency to not only minister against the enemy of addiction but they build deep relationship roots of Jesus Christ in the individual. They do not work for a six month program but they work for a life partnership to always be there for the individual even after the program is finished. This ministry has devoted their lives to those that many times the church does not want but the Lord deeply desires! So thankful the Lord showed me this ministry and that is why I partnered with them.

Hello my name is Michael and I am family. I remember the first time I said this because it is the way we introduce ourselves at shepherds shelter. To be honest I didn't want to say it and didn't believe it. After 26 years of drug abuse I was anything but family by the world's standard I was Labeled as a drug addict junkie, thief, convict, liar, user and a list of names I'd rather not mention. But as I soon learned from pastor " it's not what people call you that matters it's what you answer to" I'm proud to say that today I am 2 1/2yrs sober a man of God because of the love and mercy that was shown to me through all shepherds shelter staff and especially Pastor and momma. Before coming to Shepherds Shelter I spent almost the last 10yrs of my life sleeping on the street. I seen nights I have literally almost froze to death. Spent 10 years in prisons and jails and seen no kind of hope for anything good I soon found myself back in jail , so I begged for rehab. Honestly my intention was just to get out of jail but that all changed in a Saturday night church service as I hit my knees to pray. I didn't pray some fancy prayer or make any deals I simply submitted I told God I don't know what I'm doing I obviously don't know how to live life please show me. Boy was I in for a game changer. The more I leaned into what was being taught there the more I started to see and feel change in my life. I truly became family and was treated as such. The values and morals that have been instilled in me from shepherds shelter have forever changed not only my life but every life I come in contact with. I am no longer that list of terrible names. I am first and foremost a man of God but I am also a husband a father a son a brother a friend and most of all I AM FAMILY AT SHEPHERDS SHELTER. Today I am someone you ministers the gospel and tries to show the same love and mercy I was shown here. I have my own home a beautiful wife and an awesome relationship with my children. I did ECT through Lindner Center late last year. Every person who worked there was kind, caring, and professional. Everything was explained thoroughly and all my questions were answered.
I wasn’t sure if the ECT was helpful but after a couple of months, everyone close to me saw it. I’m so thankful that I was able to help through Lindner. Previous to this, I had done basically all that was available (PHP, IOP, TMS, Ketamine), besides regular therapy sessions, and meds.
Update: It’s late Oct and I’ve been doing ECT since Dec, so close to a year. My mental health has continued to improve and I haven’t been in crisis all year!

Upon arrivngl at Lexington Addiction Center(LAC) I was greeted with friendly staff that was awaiting my arrival. At first I was nervous because I was 500 miles away from home and didn't know anyone, but as I started to settle in things got easier. I shared a house with about 10 others that was in recovery just like me. The house was clean and well furnished. I had the opportunity to attend AA meetings 5 times a day which in part helped with my sobriety. My case manager kerstin was very helpful in assisting me with issues that I was going through at home as well as housing and giving me overall information that I needed to secure housing. I can't say enough how LAC has helped me. I appreciate all the staff for assisting me through this journey. If you are thinking about going to LAC please do so with an open mind and ready to get on the road to recovery, this place is really great!

I would encourage anyone who is considering addiction care to come to LAC. Their classes and instructors are amazing, especially Trey! I’m so thankful for my four weeks here and will take the lessons and life lessons with me throughout my life.
Hands down love the cat house especially their MAT program.

The center for addiction treatment literally saved my life. I have an unlimited positive suppletives to say about the CAT House. Great environment and remarkable staff that truly cares. I recommend anyone that is looking for help getting sober to go to CAT.
Talbert House has truly helped me. The staff there are amazing, and always try their best to help us. There are staff who will spend their money and make us breakfast some mornings. Christmas, although sad, was truly fun. One of the clinical staff came in and played some games with us. Although the program can be hard, I believe it can truly help you. The program can be stressful at times, but the staff are there to try and help you. My favorite staff, Ms. Beth, always had the newest shoes on. She, along with all the staff, truly helped me. I am forever thankful for them.

It's because of Brightview Georgetown that I'm sober and thriving the way I am today! They go above and beyond just a staff member,they are family. They go out of their way to make sure I'm secure in being there,having active sobriety, they've been there at court for me advocating that I'm doing everything I can to be a better person and mother. I've never been to a better medical facility. The staff actual care and do everything they can do to help you in whatever situation you have. I've been going here a few years now and have never seen anyone mistreated. The only thing I have seen is people trying to take advantage and the staff, obviously, having to tell someone no, their request isn't possible. There are strict rules and laws and no one should expect the staff to break them.

Staff are angels and all of them truly care about your well being, and want to see you thrive. Sadly theres only one doctor there and they work once a week, and they're quite a bit stingy with certain medications (Like amphetamines for ADHD and Benzos for panic disorder). Highly reccomend this place for therapy and some mental health medications, but I'd look elsewhere for primary care.

The choice I made to go to HCBTS was one of the best decisions I’ve made in my life. Recovering from addiction isn’t easy but it is definitely easier with a staff that is very educated and caring. They truly want to see their patients get control of their lives again. Listen to what they say and let go of your own way and they will do whatever they can to help you!
