My counselor is awesome

I’ve been with this Talbert House location for a couple of years after being placed into court ordered therapy for an ILC program. There are some things that I’d like to state. The very first therapist I had, an Asian woman, was awful. I do not think she is currently with the company, I don’t know if that had anything to do with her awfulness. She was very callous, judgmental, and constantly made me feel like a P.O.S and like my appointments were a burden to her. I didn’t feel like any of my therapy sessions helped because she was, for lack of better word, a see you next Tuesday who clearly didn’t like anyone that had a run in with substances in their past (despite me being clean since May 21 on opioids, and only smoking a little weed here and there and minor alcohol). However, my therapist now, Kaitlyn, has made up for that. I’m able to be open and honest with her about everything. I had a recent DV incident with my ex that completely changed my life and flipped everything upside down. With Kaitlyn, I’ve been able to stay sober from marijuana and alcohol, and feel satisfied doing so. Not that your therapists are supposed to feel like your “friends” but now that Kaitlyn will be going to a different facility to help even more people, I do not know if my next therapist will be as good as Kaitlyn. My therapy sessions with Kaitlyn have me believing in the mental health institution and in therapy itself. Before, I only came because I had to. Now, I WANT to come because it’s healing me. This Talbert House will be losing an amazing employee and I only hope the next practitioners are even half the therapist of her. After some thought I wanted to add something else. When my ex strangled me and went to jail, this Talbert House absolutely saved me and my sons lives. I was homeless and living in my car and a shelter, and went into preterm labor at 30 weeks pregnant from the assault. Kaitlyn, Amanda, and the others at the team here at Talbert House found me somewhere to live, had it furnished, and had so many donations for me and my son in less than a week. Without them, I don’t know if me and my child would still be together or if I’d even be alive. When you read these reviews please consider that maybe they aren’t giving therapy or this location a fair chance. Turnovers happen everywhere, therapists get new and better jobs. They find new opportunities, they grow and change within their lives. However it doesn’t mean that this Talbert isn’t doing their best. If you give yourself a fair and fighting chance, you will absolutely succeed at this Talbert House.

It's a halfway facility,the improvement comes from the clients and staff working towards a common goal.

They are really good because they hear what is your problem and they also don't judge people like eastways and I have been with South community over 12 years and I still going to them to have someone to talk to when I need help

I see a lot of mixed reviews and this is a personal preference. But my experience here has been more than satisfactory. Everyone has been more than helpful. Also not have I gone in and seen anyone in a bad mood. Personally a great place.

Finally Drs who really listen and don't spend all their time staring at a laptop screen. It's been a long time since I felt like I could talk to my primary care physician and not end up getting totally insulted. Dr Harewood was just the best. Dr Glass is a great guy too.

I have been to several other psych doctors and I have never encountered anything like the quality and professionalism they have here. They actually care about their patients and don't over medicate people. The staff are always friendly and always have your best interest at heart. They will try to better your life and make sure you are happy with your treatment. They have really changed my life and gave me my confidence back. I wouldn't go to any other doctor ever again. Their sevice is a grand slam

If you like horrible nurses that treat you like garbage and lots of change, this is the treatment center for you The doctors and nurses are never consistent. There’s a few good ones but unfortunately they’re leaving. The overturn Here for doctors, nurses and counselors is horrendous the front desk staff absolutely don’t like their jobs. And it shows when I first started it was completely different here. I absolutely loved it. But watching me change it actually is pretty sad because. this place 100% runs for insurance purposes and Payment only there’s no connection with anyone . And I don’t know why they say they offer psychiatric health because they do not. I have never seen a psychologist in their office. I’ve seen the Doctor Who prescribed the medicine the counselors that you see to do your check-in and the people who dispense your medicine, Second review!!!!! My Answer To BRIGHTVIEW Response: ………….. Who exactly would you like me to call? you guys have a one 1888 Number that only takes you to customer service representatives with no ability to do anything about what is going on in your offices or the ability help us in anyway except make appointments or take payments or cancellations And For God sake, you can’t even call into one of your offices if you want to ask your doctor, a question or one of the nurses You have to call that same 1888 number and give one of the customer service representative on the phone your question. And then they have to send it to the office. You have to wait. Then you have to call back wait on hold forever and ask if they’ve heard anything to get the response because usually they never call you back

Been going there for 3 years and I have had a great experience and still sober. My counselor is the best a lot more good staff. I would recommend this place for any addict to get sober they don't judge you they just there to help .

Comprehensive, highly effective, cutting-edge programs. Competent, affirming and compassionate staff. They were very patient and accepting of all that I shared with them. Various treatment components worked together as a whole toward wellness. I was treated for severe depression and suicidal behavior. Experiences there have been life-changing and I have regained my will to live. My treatment included Intensive Outpatient, EMDR (specialized treatment for trauma), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). Treatment included seeing a psychiatrist who was also excellent. Programs could benefit from increased marketing. I would entrust my loved ones to their care.

Great people with great insight and eager to get you where you need to be in life to help you during your stride for that cleaner healthier lifestyle as well as mind, body and soul. I’m still attending and love them greatly. Chelsea is by far the best counselor there, but there are plenty of great ones! ,.. Thank you to you all!!
