The care there has always been excellent. It is a small clinic, so you have to adapt to their resources, like, that the lab work is only done in the mornings, and the My Healthy Vet self-service kiosk doesn't work, but the reception staff have always been very good. Our son was at the end of his rope, hopeless and helpless to stop the cycle of self abuse. A day program he attended provided little and treated him along with clients twice and three times his age. He could neither hear nor meet my/our suggestions, support nor demands. After speaking with someone at Dynamite, I was sure that we d found something unique. Our son spoke (without commitment) to a young member there, then to a counselor and together we were able to persuade him to consider it, which he did cautiously. Getting him there was not easy but once we did he was immersed in a culture of healing, accountability, and self reflection. Young people living and growing together. At the time I wasn't looking for God, I was just looking for ways to continue to numb my pain. I also received much needed healing from years of pain and trauma...Upon leaving the Hoving Home I went to a half-way house and saved money to go to Bible college in Minnesota where I met and married my amazing husband Matt. From there we moved back to my home town in SC to begin the process of restoration with my children. I'm coming up on 3 years of freedom from the chains of addiction in July, 2024. I have nothing but good things to say about the receptionists, staff, therapists, nurses and NPs. They have been a blessing to us! When my daughter does not have an appointment one week due to a holiday or whatever, someone will call to check on us. I really appreciate that. It is tough having interns as my daughter's therapists but they need to train somewhere. If your child has extreme difficulty with change then ask for someone that is consistent. I am a disabled veteran and have been seen at the Goshen VA Clinic regularly since 2016. The care there has always been excellent. It is a small clinic, so you have to adapt to their resources, like, that the lab work is only done in the mornings, and the My Healthy Vet self-service kiosk doesn't work, but the reception staff have always been very good.

An oasis of human being-focused possibility in the desert of quick turn-around, short-stay corporate rehabs that statistically serve as a bandaid with little long-term success. Our son was at the end of his rope, hopeless and helpless to stop the cycle of self abuse. A day program he attended provided little and treated him along with clients twice and three times his age. He could neither hear nor meet my/our suggestions, support nor demands. After speaking with someone at Dynamite, I was sure that we d found something unique. Our son spoke (without commitment) to a young member there, then to a counselor and together we were able to persuade him to consider it, which he did cautiously. Getting him there was not easy but once we did he was immersed in a culture of healing, accountability, and self reflection. Young people living and growing together. The changes are mind blowing and have altered the trajectory of his life and ours. We remain committed to his potential and have grown as a family. Can t say enough about this unique program.

In July, 2021 I came unto the end of myself in my addiction. I had lost my children, my home, my dignity, and the respect of pretty much any one who knew me, including myself. I was broken, tired and ashamed but I hadn't lost all hope.I heard about the Hoving Home in Garrison, New York from a very unexpected source (my dealer). At the time I wasn't looking for God, I was just looking for ways to continue to numb my pain. But when this person told me about the Hoving Home, something in me stirred.I remember looking the Hoving Home up online and feeling very drawn to this place. I saw that it was a Christ centered and faith based program focused on helping women rebuild lives that had been shattered by addiction. I just knew that I had to get to this place!!!Now mind you, Im in SC with not a dollar to my name but when I took a step of faith to get to this place, God made a way...When I got to the Hoving Home I was embraced by a loving community of a bunch of broken people just like me. I instantly felt welcomed and loved. I thought I was just coming here to get sober but I got so much more! I encountered the love of Jesus at this place like I never had before. I was completely wrecked by His love! I found a freedom, peace, and joy like I had never known. I also received much needed healing from years of pain and trauma...Upon leaving the Hoving Home I went to a half-way house and saved money to go to Bible college in Minnesota where I met and married my amazing husband Matt. From there we moved back to my home town in SC to begin the process of restoration with my children. I'm coming up on 3 years of freedom from the chains of addiction in July, 2024. And I'm still passionately burning for JESUS!None of this would have been possible without the healing and loving environment provided at the Hoving Home! When i was there in 2018 it was very strict which most people cant complete theu get kicked out or relapse. The then director Andrea was a tough woman to trick or get one over on. Counselors come and go thst normal. Brian the house manager was also amazing and there for a long time. I heard its not the same its easy to get over on staff which isnt good for the people trying to get better. Id love to know to who the new director is. My daughter has received services from Astor for the last 2-3 years. I have nothing but good things to say about the receptionists, staff, therapists, nurses and NPs. They have been a blessing to us! When my daughter does not have an appointment one week due to a holiday or whatever, someone will call to check on us. I really appreciate that. It is tough having interns as my daughter's therapists but they need to train somewhere. If your child has extreme difficulty with change then ask for someone that is consistent.

This place is the most effective and helpful recovery place I ve ever had the pleasure of attending. The dedication of staff to get to know their clients rather than just gaining as many as they can and not really knowing anything about them is very meaningful. I would recommend this facility for anyone dealing with drug/alcohol issues and they are dual diagnosis well equipped for mental illness. This is the best recovery tool I ve ever had access to and I m so thankful.
