I can’t say enough good things about Intensive In-Home Services at the Wilkes location! Becky and Ken have been absolutely wonderful to work with. They are caring, compassionate, patient, and truly take the time to listen and understand our family’s needs. They have gone above and beyond to provide support, encouragement, and guidance when we needed it most. It’s clear that they genuinely care about the families they work with, and we are so grateful for everything they have done for us. If you’re looking for a team that truly cares and makes a difference, I highly recommend Becky, Ken, and the Wilkes location!

My personal experience with this facility is above and beyond. Between 2013 and 2017 I attended Synergy Recovery 9 times attempting to overcome my issue of opiates. As of 8-20-2017 I have been clean. In loosing my mother to cancer just 8 months after coming home from 40 months in prison, I found myself engulfed in an addiction and had no idea what to do. Was homeless and already "re-burnt" all my bridges. After making contact with them, they even bought me a cab to take me from my grand parents in Lenoir to North Wilkesboro for treatment. Once my treatment was over, they helped me stay outta Caldwell County and helped me get into a halfway house up in Elkin. Love this place, staff, and what theyre about. I would definitely recommend it to any and everybody!!!!

Had a friend who was going through a rough patch. He didn't have the money to afford any of those fancy facilities. But at Bethel they just have an entry fee and really understand where you're coming from. They are dedicated to helping broken men get a new start in life. My friend has never been better and has been sober for three years now.

I have recently brought another friend to Bethel in hopes that God will do for him what he did for my other friend, who stayed 9 months voluntarily. With no place to go, his mother who was going blind had sold her home and was moving into assisted living, saw such a change in her son that she forfeited her deposit, bought another house, and asked him to come home. He is now taking care of his “legally blind” mom and was recently asked DWI charges in the first 6 months I knew him. Was a drug dealer for years and served years in prison. What a changed man he is now, a true witness of what God can do through this ministry, Bethel House of Mercy.

I went to this bethel colony of mercy in the early 2000's. I lived in New Jersey and a friend got me a bus ticket and sent me to the colony. I got clean for a while but backslid after a couple of years. But the seed was planted. I got my GED at Caldwell community college while I was there. Many years later on March 30th of 2011 I lost my mom .. that was the day I grew up. I relapsed again for the last time and went to prison for 3 years and finally got clean for good. Bethel colony planted the seed and I'm a better person today. Thank God I went to this place. It did change my life ... My bad lifestyle finally caught up to me and I'm dealing with a lot of health problems. I'm still in a positive mindset even through my trials. Glory be to God for transforming me and my life.

Galax Life Center has truly given me my life back. ❤️ As someone in recovery, I can honestly say that this place and the people who work here have made a difference in my life that I will never forget. I want to give a special thank you to Chrissy, who is head of Off-Campus Housing. She is one of the kindest people and is always there when we need her. She listens, cares, and makes sure we know we aren't alone. I also want to recognize Faith, a tech in the house, who is always willing to help and goes out of her way to be there for us. And a very special thank you to Mrs. Jackie, Debbie, Mrs. Mandy, and Jessica, who work the night shift at the center. No matter what our past looks like or what we've been through, they treat us with kindness, respect, and dignity—just like anybody else. That means more than they probably realize. Recovery isn't easy, and sometimes having people who believe in you and treat you like a person instead of your past can make all the difference. I am so grateful for everyone at Galax Life Center who has supported me, encouraged me, and helped me find my way back to myself. Thank you, Galax Life Center, for helping give me my life back. I will forever be grateful. ❤️

I'm always treated with kindness professionalism and I feel safe. I feel heard, and understood. I feel like I can become a better me, because of the services I am receiving from Mr. Robert Santiago. Even the office staff are very kind and patient. Showing me professionalism that my therapist has shown me allows me to open up and talk about uncomfortable areas and start a coping and healing methods. I've learned in life it is very hard for people who have learned untrust to trust again. Getting past that is something to celebrate itself, but what can be done with it changes the whole game. Being able to trust opens up a world of vulnerability. Vulnerability opens up a world of change, understanding, and acceptance. . I could go to therapy all day and night but if I cannot trust I will not advance in anyway. I will be just talking out loud period. Knowing that I could trust from the beginning who I'm talking to feels like breathing clean air again.Thank you for having such professional people working as your staff.

Please read the whole review, I know it’s long, but there’s important stuff that really might help you out if you’re thinking about becoming a patient. Always keep in mind however, that you get out of it what you put into it. The counselors there are wonderful, especially Amber. She has advocated for me, she helped me get Medicaid so my medicine is free now which is amazing. She always tells me how proud she is of me and reminds me how much progress I’ve made when I’m starting to feel like I’m screwing up, sometimes you just need to hear that. I know that I can always depend on her. My first counselor was Dan he was wonderful, but I just thought that I would benefit more from having a female counselor. I also know that Ray is wonderful, but any of the counselors would be more than happy to help you if you can’t find yours. The only problems I have with this place are how difficult it is to get them on the phone sometimes, also one of the nurses is kind of rude, I understand that it is a difficult job however. The rest of the nurses are very kind especially April! Also Treva The nursing coordinator is an absolute nightmare. She was rude to me from the second I walked into that building. She for some reason has a personal issue with me and makes it known. That is so unprofessional you’re supposed to keep your opinions outside the door. That kind of stuff will send people back out and then they die. Other than that it’s great! The front desk lady is wonderful, the Director is absolutely wonderful, I enjoy the group Therapy, and if you’re doing the right thing and passing your drug test, you will phase up very quickly there. I’m already to two weeks, whereas at another clinic it probably would’ve taken me A year or even longer to get to that point. There was a time that I never thought I would even get a single take home and I’m already to two weeks! So thank you new river comprehensive treatment center. If it weren’t for you I would probably be dead, not only that but my mental health has improved drastically since I started there. One more person I would like to mention is Diana who does the Medicaid and financial stuff (I think)she is also extremely helpful and kind if you ever need help with anything.

I love the staff, eatch member brings something different. Only one employee is a stickler but it's a must for balance to take place. They are a judgement free zone an they take pride in that. If you want help this is the place they will get you started an find a way to cover the cost as long as your willing to put in the same effort. From my experience, just keep going it's gonna be hard at first I told myself that what's the point I'm just gaining another habit, now I'm hooked on 2 drugs an so in an so on, an it took a few months for it to happen but it did! **Update** *Again* Ya know, I was really upset and cynical about my initial dose, and was really questioning if I made the correct choice. With the weather, that just made titration that much harder. Upon reflection, getting second and 3rd opinions, and doing research, I now understand, which I already did, it just wasn’t clicking in my sick body/brain, they were simply looking out for me. I can appreciate that; knowing anything worth having doesn’t come easy, and admittedly I have some comorbidities, particularly some sedatives I’m/was prescribed. I could tell the Doctor really cared from day one, and she genuinely wanted to help, and nothing has changed. We met with the Medical Director, who is a great addiction MD with great “bedside manner” and understanding, and my regular MD at the clinic, really had my back and we all came up with a great course of treatment I feel really comfortable about, *update* and they have followed through on their promises, and are safely getting me on my way to making some really important and much needed changes to health and old habits, as well as given me autonomy and some normality, faster than I initially thought possible. Also, I’ve been able to reduce/stop some medications that weren’t really needed, and that helped move the process on too. And by the way, the medical Director was great; She really listened to the doctor and me, she was involved, as well as she explained things in a way that made me feel a lot better about the choice that I made to initiate treatment here. And I’m still glad, even more so now, that I chose here for me; they have gave me a life back! I would highly recommend this practice; As I said from day one, the staff are awesome and they’re the reason I kept coming back. I really appreciate them, and the compassion and empathy, and care, from the providers in your most vulnerable time is just a perfect recipe for helping one have a better and safer way of life, and for me sticking it out and retaining treatment, and I hope they know that!!! Peace & Love
