There are people here who care. Several have played a significant role in my personal recovery, this program is second to none. The staff were patient, kind, funny, respectable and caring. Personally i would have preferred an 8 hour day but then again i am an older female who rather spend my day resting, eating and watching movies! I was quite fond of Marrow even though i am sure i am spelling her name wrong. The other lady who did so much in activity wise was a super encourager. Sorry i dont remember her name. She may have come from Germany but anywhoo Hope House and the dancing staffer who taught a lot about gardening and painting were a great inspiration. Keep up the good work. Hope House, YOU ROCK!!!

I have been involved in several different recovery centers in a few different states. I myself am in recovery.
My impression of this place that the detox center is very well run, however, detox lasts a week.
After that week, however, the recovery itinerary becomes very weak, very boring and is not very creative. The recovery houses are a mess.
One of the glowing reviews you will on here is from the "owner", but doesn't mention that fact.
Yes, the facility looks nice, however, that is because a lot of their clients have Chrysler (Stellantis) insurance. And that is FCRC's main reason for existence, because of that Chrysler insurance, cashing in on the horrible meth problem in Kokomo and surrounding communities. They have some good employees, but they are handcuffed by an egocentric Director.
If you do happen to have some good insurance or money, choose another place....Guaranteed.

Many people give this place negative reviews but that's only because they're struggling with their own personal mental problems. I have been here twice and both times I was treated with love and compassion many of the nurses there are very kind and caring and I even made friends amongst the other patients. Please don't let your own personal struggles allow you to judge this place too harshly. I don't know where I would be without PBH.

Dwight is a really good counselor. he saved my life, he makes you understand what you’re going through a lot better. he helps you and understands you. The nurses were great and the techs were okay too. The food was horrible and the rooms were horrible the blankets and pillows too. The group counseling was great and the groups were a good way too talk too someone. The bad part was the patients there was this one patient that was just horrible he would touch himself in front of us at group counseling and no one would say anything.

Last year we were in desperate need of help for our son. Not only did Harbor get us connected to a wonderful counselor (Robert), but they also connected us with Amanda Chagolla who has always been just an email or call away when it comes to questions and handling our son’s medication. Mental health and healthcare in general is such a tough area of work to be in, but they do the best they can and treat us with respect which I really appreciate. Our son is back to straight A’s, enjoying school, and has wonderful support system now which means the world to us as his parents.

The most recent reviews are from years ago so I'd like to talk about the changes that have happened over the years compared to the past reviews.
I've been going here for the last four years now. I've had to change therapists once (with enough warning) and I've had to change case managers twice (also with given warnings) every issue I've ever had had been resolved quickly and efficiently (I am so sorry for getting upset about my meds that one time, omg I still feel guilty)
I've felt very safe with my therapists and they've been a great help in my mental journey

I been here few times over the past few yrs and honestly there are better but also much much worse facility's. Honestly they do what their supposed to which is keep you safe and alive the nurses and Dr are great the food is decent. Yes they take your phone which I consider a good thing.. no outside stresses so you can focus on stability.. this ain't a vacation spot or a group home it's a psych unit and it does it's job. St Charles saved my life twice. I was so embarrassed to have to come back but they welcomed me with open arms and made sure I felt safe and comfortable. Avenues changed my life. If it was for the program, id be in jail with new charges and wouldnt be clean! The staff, and the facilitators really care, and they love their jobs. Avenues changed my life!!! I felt like the "Old Me" was gone and lost forever. My self confidence was at a ZERO and I didn't believe I could ever get better. Until I found Avenues. UPDATE: I will have 6 months of sobriety under my belt here in 4 days!!! My life has drastically improved and my anxiety and depression is almost non-existent. I no longer have the feeling that things aren't going to be alright and when I face obstacles or any type of struggles I can take them head on without stressing to the point that I need to self medicate in order to feel ok.
