Serenity mountain changed my life! Between the caring house staff, knowledgeable clinical team and great activities, this is a great place to grow, learn and recover. While I was there, I was able to learn so much, about myself, my disease, and God. We had opportunities to go to off campus activities including drum aerobics, enerchi, yoga, church and even special things like concerts, ice cream runs, local NA/AA meetings and women’s retreats! The councilors genuinely care and want the best for each and every one of the girls on the mountain, and the house staff does everything they can to keep us safe, healthy, and happy throughout our time there. Sandy and Joe genuinely do their best to help each individual woman and truly care about recovery. The food is much better than most rehabs, and the rooms are large, clean and very comfortable. There is even two house dogs, Chloe and poppi, who make adjusting to the mountain much easier and provide great emotional support when needed! Overall, I highly recommend serenity mountain if addiction is something you struggle with, the road to recovery isn’t always easy, but the mountain is a great stopping point along the journey!

It was a very good place for a while however they have been admitting sooo many people while they only have two dosing windows, one of which is not open all the time. The lines are ridiculous lately. Also, every two weeks there is a new rule or they change one exiting rule without letting us know and if you break one of these rules without even knowing it exists, you are punished for it. They need to stop admitting people until they find a way to add more dosing windows and they need to post all rule changes on the walls.

Folks may want to watch the Netflix documentary “Capturing the Killer Nurse” to see that this hospitals previous administrators care more for money and reputation than they do for the lives of their patients. I hope for patients sake that those who were there running the hospital in the early 2000s are fired and gone. But likely it was swept under the rug with no repercussions. It speaks volumes that each review here is followed up by a “reputation management” personnel. 🤔 Sadly however, this is the status quo of most hospitals across the country. Profits over patients. Good reputation over good service. Hide anything that makes them look bad under the rug - even at the literal expense of the lives of their patients. I have first hand experience of this myself with untrustworthy hospital admin in New York. I wonder how long it’ll take for the “reputation managers” to get this review deleted because it makes them look bad. 🤔 Hope you guys are enjoying that building they spoke about in the documentary… If you could let us all know what disciplinary actions were taken against the administrators re: that documentary though, perhaps that would help your “reputation”… 🤔 UPDATE: A movie was also made about this incident called "The Good Nurse" (Also now on Netflix) which also demonstrates the deceptive practices of this hospital (and others) who quite literally shoved murders under the rug to save their own face. And funny, it's been months since I've posted this review and unlike all the other reviews - the "reputation manager" hasn't replied. ;) One last thing: I get notifications from Google that say quite a few people have "liked" this review - however it has zero likes which show up. Slightly suspicious how people who liked it have just vanished..... EDIT: Oh look the likes reappeared after mentioning it… 🤔😉🫠😂

Where do I begin? Not only was this my first-ever rehabilitation experience, but it was also the most eye-opening experience I have ever had. I was uncertain about what to expect and, ultimately, I made the best decision possible. The staff, whom I refer to as specialists, made me feel immediately at home, and my counselor, Mike, went above and beyond in his duties. The facility offers numerous perks, including exceptional cuisine, impeccable grounds, and a spectacular overall atmosphere. I must note that the nurses are exceedingly polite and attentive to their patients' needs, although I did find it somewhat disappointing that doctor visits were limited to only once. Personally, I did not experience any significant issues during my stay, aside from one supervisor who, I discovered, was not particularly friendly to either patients or staff. One of the highlights of the facility is the presence of Monarch butterflies, which are hatched on-site. Deb, one of the specialists, consistently displayed a warm and welcoming smile that brightened everyone's day. Marworth offers a wide range of activities to keep patients engaged, as well as tailored treatment plans for individuals requiring additional support. I commend the facility on its outstanding work.

This program may be helpful for some people, but it was not trauma-informed. They operated without empathy, accountability and respect for boundaries. I experienced repeated breaches of trust around privacy and felt unsafe in group and staff interactions. If you are sensitive to coercion, hypervigilance, or dissociation, I strongly recommend asking very detailed questions about confidentiality, staff roles, and how personal information is shared before enrolling. I am 6 months sober now but that’s 100% because I’ve been doing daily meditation. Most people don’t need rehab! Meditation is a better tool and way cheaper and healthy too. I started daily meditating on my own on my first full day at lake Ariel and it’s the only thing that got me through the nearly nonstop trauma experienced at this place. In 6 months I haven’t had a single craving for substances. I don’t go to meetings or anything like that. But they don’t want you to know this at rehabs with their capitalistic models! I suggest trying daily meditation before committing to a 30 day program. It only took 15 minutes of meditation per day for me to erase all cravings. Now I do 2 hours because the more, the better, and the stronger your sobriety will be. If you’re having withdrawals I suggest to go to a strictly detox program, and not a rehab that’s going to coerce you to stay for a month or more. Save your time and possibly money (if you don’t have the right insurance)!

I had never been to treatment for my drinking before, and I was terrified. When I called Little Creek Lodge, I was in bad shape — one of the worst days of my drinking. From that first call, everything changed. Within 30 minutes my insurance was verified and I was on my way to detox. After detox, an employee from LCL came to pick me up, and the moment I arrived I felt a sense of relief. LCL follows a 12-step recovery process. I’m not religious — I used to call myself an atheist, and now I’d say I’m agnostic — so the idea of going to an AA meeting was scary. But what I found was nothing like what I imagined. AA at LCL is all about acceptance, community, and helping each other. There’s no judgment, only support. The facility itself is beautiful — cozy, welcoming, and thoughtfully designed. The beds are comfortable, and there are more than enough bathrooms to make everyone feel at home. The environment is peaceful, which made it easier to focus fully on recovery. The food deserves its own mention. They have an actual chef (love you, Bob!) who trained at the Culinary Institute of America. Every meal was absolutely delicious — far beyond what I ever expected from treatment food. The staff is what truly sets Little Creek apart. Every single person genuinely cares about the residents. My counselor, Steve, was tough on me — exactly the way I asked him to be — and he pushed me to face things I had avoided for years. It wasn’t easy, but it was exactly what I needed. I also want to give a huge shout out to Goose (yes, that’s his name!), Mason, Dane, Allen, Meg, Dongo, and so many others. The nurses were incredible as well — always attentive, compassionate, and supportive. Another surprise was the activities. I’ve never been a “nature” person, but somehow I loved every second of it. We did yoga, horseback riding, archery, hikes, go-karts, kayaking, and more. It made recovery not just about the difficult work, but also about rediscovering joy and trying new things. The lodge is small, which I think is one of its strengths. It maxes out at 17 guys, and during my month there we averaged around 10. That intimacy made it easier to build strong connections with both the staff and other residents. As a gay man, I was also nervous at first, but I never once felt out of place. Even though I was probably the only gay person there, I felt welcomed and supported by everyone. They still call me 5 months later to check in on me. Proud to say I’m now 160 days sober today. I am beyond grateful for my time at Little Creek Lodge. They gave me the tools, encouragement, and community I needed when I couldn’t find it anywhere else. If you or someone you love is struggling, this is the place to go.

I had emergency colon surgery in March at Allentown. Unfortunately, they did it in a hurry because that what was necessary at the time. I had 9 weeks of pain and issues and required a second emergency surgery in May. The good news is, then I met Dr. Daniel J. Bowers. He became my regular doctor through this and I saw him several times. He is an excellent doctor and a very good man. He always took time to explain my situation with understanding and compassion when I was at a very low point in my life. I've been home 2 weeks and haven't felt this good in months. I finally feel like everything is behind me. A special thanks to Dr. Stewart and medical student Nate. AND the 8th floor nursing staff, especially Faye and Sam!!! I could never do the kind of work that these medical professionals do every day! But, I am grateful that they do! God bless them all!

I had been a patient here for a few years and went through three different therapists who all conveniently used the exact same excuse to drop me as a patient: "I'm sorry. At the end of the month, I'll be leaving the company". My first therapist dropped me at the worst possible time when I while caring for my mother as she was battling pancreatic cancer. I was already struggling with clinical anxiety and depression, and then on top of that was dealing with what was happening with my mom, which was so intense it caused literal abdominal physical pain, and this so-called professional actually decided to drop me literally a month before my mom passed away. Then the company set me up with another therapist. I had to open up all over again which was extremely difficult. I had suffered a lot of abuse as a child, so this meant reopening wounds to start with a new therapist. Just when I was really feeling comfoetable with her, out of the blue - coincidentally as stressful changes were happening in my life where I really needed the therapy the most - she tells me she's "leaving the company at the end of the month". Then I go without a therapist for over a year and the third therapist calls me up to let me know she's available. So, at this point I was fearful that I'd be opening up wounds that are extremely difficult to revisit, just for it to happen again but she acknowledges how the other therapists just suddenly left and she ASSURES me that she is absolutely NOT leaving the company any time soon. ...Well wouldn't you know it... only just over a month later, she ends up telling me that in a month she's "going to be leaving the company too". If you're going to be in a profession like this, you can't just do that to people - there should be contracts that lock therapists in for a set amount of time (which should be made clear to the patient before starting sessions). Contacts like this would prevent therapists from dropping out, at the drop of a hat, on people that are relying on them. If they do break it, there should be some sort of a penalty, because for whatever reason it just seems really easy for them to suddenly leave the company, despite the damage that it does to the people who are relying on them for help. It's not fair and and feels extremely selfish for them to do. the sad thing is is that there aren't many options when you don't have a lot of money or when you're only form of of insurances Medicaid or Medicare. I recommend everyone stay away from this company. You'd be better off suffering and trying to do your own research for cognitive help than to put your trust into people who are unpredictable and unreliable.

I went to this facility for a planned same-day surgery. The facility is very clean and modern appearing. The staff were all very kind and knowledgeable. I was rather anxious leading up to the procedure and the nurses were excellent with thoroughly explaining what to expect. This, coupled with excellent bedside manner helped to calm my nerves. This was my first time at this facility but based on my experience, I would highly recommend!
