I went there back in 2012 and 13. What God did for me through using Eternal Awakenings , has sure lived up to their name, God transformed me and changed me by waking me up. I am humbled to still be apart of this wonderful and God fearing place. I’m also grateful and thankful for what God did for me so that I could step into His identity He had for me, so I too could be used for His glory. God is still continuously using this wonderful and beautiful place for His glory, all to bring the lost home, sinners to repentance and salvation to a fallen world.

I went in for treatment at EA several years ago (2011) and I have never looked back. I had been to a facility in Memphis the year before after losing my son in the Army & I couldn’t seem to get my life together. It helped, but when I had a setback, I looked closer to home & found EA just 30 miles away & from the minute I entered that beautiful, stately home I felt welcomed & loved. Jim and his awesome staff as well as the others in treatment made my stay so productive and life changing. I am a minister’s daughter & the faith based treatment helped me get through & arrive back to myself. Even after my husband’s passing in 2019, I relied on the things I was taught & reminded of from my stay. If you need help for addiction or alcoholism, this is a great place to go - you will make friends you never knew you needed and learn things about yourself that carry you through the next phase of your life. I’m so grateful I found EA.

It’s hard to put into words the amount of gratitude I feel for Robert Kidd & “the Room” @ Positive Recovery, but I will give it my best shot.
After finding myself at an ultimate low & loosing nearly everything that ever mattered to me in life, I found myself sitting in what we call “the room”. Robert asked me a question that I had no idea wld be the start of a new & beautiful journey…. “Who is Kat?” Take away the kids, the marriage, the job, etc…most of which I had lost at that point anyway - who was I, at my core? I had absolutely no idea - but thankfully, I had a willingness & a safe place to find out. Thru some really challenging assignments & sitting in the room w/ others who were willing to open up & share things we probably wldn’t otherwise talk about…I found myself doing the same. In doing so, I have been able to let go of things I didn’t even realize I had been holding onto & have rediscovered who I AM. I hope this review reaches you when you’re feeling like you’ve tried everything and nothing has worked. If that’s where you are, know that PRC will give you the help you need, and Robert Kidd is in the business of the highest calling—Saving Lives.
There are a few moments in my life that I can pinpoint as truly life-saving, and my experience at PRC is one of them. There are plenty of IOP programs around, but the people at this center, especially Robert Kidd, are on a whole different level. Before coming to PRC in San Marcos, I had been through three treatment centers and several Intensive Outpatient Programs, with my life in complete disarray. But everything changed when I met Robert.
When you show up at an IOP, it’s not on your best day—it’s one of the lowest. My family had given up on me, and I didn’t have anyone to help me sort through the wreckage of my life and guide me forward. I felt hopeless, like rebuilding my life wasn’t possible. Robert took me in at my lowest point, and I’ll never forget what he said after going through the intake process. He looked at me—a 28-year-old man, fresh out of my second rehab, with a newborn child—and smiled. “Hey Bud, we’re going to get through this. And I don’t just mean maintain—I mean thrive. I have high hopes for you, John.”
It had been a long time since someone believed in me. Robert became the father figure I needed when mine had stopped speaking to me. From that moment, I gave everything I had to getting clean. I had never stayed clean and sober for more than 12 days, but Robert's belief in me made me want to succeed. It wasn’t the money spent on rehab or the numerous counselors and medications that made the difference—it was Robert’s belief in me.
He didn’t just let me slip away when I missed a group session; he would reach out, encourage me, and motivate me to keep going. Hello My name is Massey and I'm someone living in recovery for 8 years 1 month and 13 days. Without Robert Kidd and Positive Recovery, I would not be able to say that. What was provided to me was a safe space to come in out of the dark and learn that it was ok-that I would be ok. I was given an opportunity to improve my quality of life through ownership and action. All that was required of me was that I hold myself accountable. For over 35 years I struggled not just with addiction but fear stemming from years of trauma and suppression. Mr Kidd and Positive Recovery through their methodology and genuine compassion provided me a road map to another way. I will always be an addict. That is what I am, but that is no longer WHO I am thanks to the truth that Positive Recovery provided me. Today who I am is a father husband and quite simply someone that is no longer afraid of being afraid.

Rivercity rehab and all of the staff are amazing, nonjudgmental and extremely caring. Making the decision to enter the program saved my life. No parent ever wants to place their child in a treatment center. We were very nervous and scared but the entire staff at SMTC went above and beyond to ensure our family felt heard, seen, and validated. Our child did have to wait for several months for a bed to open (no fault to center as the mental health crisis in our world is a lot and not enough places to help ) but as soon as one did the staff as on top of everything and made the transition from out of state as easy as possible. Through the 8 plus months or child was in SMTC we got to see the staff and campus first hand several times and it broke all the stereotypes about these "types of places". The campus is beautiful and tons of engaging and therapeutic activities for all clients. They planned and executed several special outings , BBQs, and fun activities to keep clients active and involved in every aspects of their mental health treatment. Our therapist , Ms. Mcarthur was exceptional and walked beside us the entire way. she will forever hold a special places in our family for all the tools, tips, and support for gave us. She helped our child learn skills to advocate and take a role in their personal treatment. The nursing staff was kind, knowledgeable and professional. Nurse Anderson, Nurse Macola, and Nurse Headly are amazing assets to the facility. Communication was constant, clear and conveyed in a timely fashion. I was very impressed with the fact the SMTC worked with not only the individual client but also us as a family with weekly family therapy sessions. As parents we were very involved throughout the treatment process. We loved the weekly check ins and staffings to ensure we all were on same page and all effective members of the treatment team. We are eternally grateful for SMTC for coming along and walking beside us without judgement during a very hard, scary and emotional season of our lives. TO ALL THE STAFF: we are so grateful and thankful for all your hard work not only with our child but all the children you help! We know nursing is sometimes hard and difficult but know you are a blessing to so many kiddos! you have all touched our lives with lasting experiences! keep up the amazing work you all do!

My wife and I are grateful for the program here at The Orchard on the Brazos. The team there has shown that a program uniquely designed to treat addiction while maintaining dignity is the best way to achieve and maintain sobriety. Additionally, their family programs are second to none. We attended a weekend event that was incredibly helpful to us. And, my wife and I have been attending their weekly family zoom meeting for 16 months. Not coincidentally, our loved one is 16 months sober. Unfortunately, we have had two experiences with the Orchard with two of our adult children. I wrote unfortunately, because no one should have to experience their children battling addiction. We had previous experience at another organization that was fruitless. This was a whole new version.
The professionals at the Orchard care not only for the residents, but also provide forums for the family members as well. It is a welcoming caring environment, where family participation is encouraged, because we all need healing in some respects.
For those who are just about at their wits end, there is hope. Let me also say this is not a miracle place, our kids have work that they need to do. As a Dad, I would encourage you to fully check out the facilities, programs and staff. We have been very blessed with our experiences.

This place is amazing. The complaints in the reviews worried me. But the moment I arrived I was treated with the upmost care. Only weak people leave a treatment facility like this. This place saved my life and I was treated with dignity and respect throughout. I have my life back and that is what I went there for. Anybody you read on here that has anything bad to say is soft. This place can fix anyone WILLING to be vulnerable. Some adults never got told they couldn't be unicorns when they grew up and it shows.

Warriors Heart in Bandera, TX was the safest spot I could’ve landed when my life was burning down. I came in drowning in booze, broken from childhood abuse, combat PTSD, and straight rage. They gave me the tools to start building something solid out of all that wreckage.
Biggest lesson for me was Ego. I thought I had one, maybe two. Nah, I had a fleet of them! All those past traumas twisting up and firing off as anger. Warriors Heart helped me see it, strip it down, and start putting in the real work.
Most of the staff are real ones, and they show up every day with wisdom, patience, and love.
It wasnt a magic fix. But it’s where the construction starts, new foundations can be started, and for me, that made all the difference. 🙏

When I arrived at Heartwood in Austin, I was completely broken and had no hope left. I had been to multiple treatment centers before, but there is truly something different about Heartwood. From the beautiful, peaceful campus to the loving staff who actually take the time to truly know you, every part of this place is special.
The team at Heartwood, from the counselors all the way to the owner, are an absolute blessing. They do not just treat you; they care about you on a level I had never experienced elsewhere. Their approach helped me dig deep, open up, and finally begin to heal.
The aftercare is top tier as well. The constant love, support, and encouragement they continue to give even after you leave is nothing short of amazing.

I’ve been to multiple treatment centers. This is the best men’s treatment center there is in the area. Top to bottom, there’s not one staff member who isn’t truly doing this deal. You will be seen, you will be heard and you won’t fly under the radar. Heartwoods got a great mix of therapy/clinical practice and 12 step practice. Heartwood is in the helping people industry. My recent experience with Cenikor-Austin as a medical detox and residential rehabilitation facility was in fact only a begining, but in the best possible sense. Go here if you are in need of help, empathy, compassion, and care. My experience left me feeling whole and human. Real people who understand real problems and have a real solution. To be completely honest it was my very first stop in my journey to becoming a whole person. I had no previously experience, didn't know what to expect, and was afraid. The staff and medical team never sugar coated things for me;these people have literally been in your shoes. I was treated with dignity and respect but they do have rules, set boundaries, teach you skills to cope with your vices and sometimes call you out when you can't be honest with yourself. When you want help, look no further. They do respect your spiritual beliefs and accept you regardless of what those are. They train you on the 12-step principles of our disease called addiction, but do not shove those ideas down your throat. Allowing me to heal, at my pace was the greatest gift anyone has given me in a very long time. If you are looking for a cure, good luck. Positive Recovery is a game changer. I've been on my own recovery road for years by myself but l've never been able to connect all the pieces to stay sober. PRC provided me with tools I could use on a day to day basis that help me through life's situations as they come. Glenn, one of the counselors at the Cinco Ranch location, is very insightful and actually in recovery himself. He could relate to what I've been through and what I go through daily. He taught me about what my brain is going through and actually backs it up with scientific studies and evidence. I am excited about my future today. Like I said PRC is a game changer.

[EDIT/UPDATE] Well, it’s been 5 years since I posted the brief review seen above, and I feel like both this clinic AND me deserve something of an update.
I am still a patient of the clinic’s, albeit a patient whose chaotic and life-threatening issues with opiate addiction thankfully have been thoroughly tamed. While Google Reviews isn’t the appropriate venue to detail the grittier personal details encompassed within an individual case of opiate addiction disorder, I will share without hesitation the undeniable reality that without the service of professionally compassionate treatment of the addiction nightmare which first brought me to their doorstep, I would not be alive and able to compose the review you’re now reading.
How very happy I AM here today, able to talk about this treatment and the improvements to and gains made in my life, none of which would have been remotely possible without the service provided by this clinic. Relationships shattered by the damage wrought by addiction have been repaired. My apartment becomes a nicer and more enjoyable place to call home with each passing year as I replace belongings that I sold or traded for drugs in the past and add new ones I never had the chance to enjoy “back then.”
It’s easier to look in the mirror now that I put on new, clean clothes that
I like to wear, instead of rummaging through piles of tattered threads, searching for the least dirty garments I first got from donation bins and the like. My self-esteem grows each passing day. I no longer avert my eyes from those of the people I encounter.
I no longer find myself having to constantly look over my proverbial shoulder, worried that the people I know will steal my belongings at the first opportunity they see to do so. I no longer find myself incarcerated, wondering what lunkheaded thing I did to land myself there while I was, no doubt, blacked-out thanks to some atrociously dangerous combination of opiates, benzodiazepines, and anything else I might have imbibed while barking at the moon. Good grief, am I ever glad that those days seem finally to be behind me.
One more killer perk which I suspect just might appeal to someone out there: I haven’t been dope-sick—or, I suppose I ought to say “in withdrawal”—not even once since the first day I began treatment.
Not.
Even.
Once.
So, if you’re sick and tired of being sick and tired, do yourself a gigantic, merciful favor by picking up the phone and giving these fine folks a ringy-dingy-ding. You could literally change your life today. Never have I regretted my decision to do so.

Words cannot describe how good of a program this is. Ms. Joyce is truly a god sent angel from heaven. She really cares about you and does everything in her power to help you get your life on the right track. Choosing ADAAP for IOP was one of the best decisions I have made since getting clean. Waking up to deers running around on the grounds is just breathtaking, and the perfect way to start the day. There are also adorable goats (yes goats), plus horses who love to accept carrots that you can get from the kitchen. Tennis courts, basket ball hoops, swimming pools, Jacuzzis and lots of long walks close by. The staff are caring and always ready to help, the chef is wonderful, providing delicious fresh food every day, they even have their own veggie and herb garden. Soba Texas is a beautiful, serene place, providing the perfect environment for self reflection and the process of healing from life's challenges. Plus they allow you to bring your pet if you wish, which is refreshing and so nice. Group meetings and sessions are empowering and educational, Soba Texas provides a healing break away from the world and a chance to regroup, learn, grow, and then return to the world refreshed, invigorated and ready to fall in love with life again. First and foremost I want to say I would give SOBA a million stars if I could. Many leave false reviews and I witnessed this multiple times.
Addicts know how to manipulate and are the best of the best at doing so.
SOBA has rules in place for 100% success and 100% safety for all in treatment.
If you violated the rules you must be terminated to keep it a safe environment for all of us that want to heal.
If a client is discharged at the fault of their own actions the first thing I heard multiple times is I am going to leave a bad review.
Thank you SOBA for taking a false bad review and keeping this a safe place to recover.
Sadly to say we are a family of 8 (YES 8) that reside in Michigan and have recovered out of state only because of SOBA.
We all have years of sobriety due to the highest standards SOBA has set to teach you a beautiful new way instead of using mind altering substances.
I was petrified at age 45 to enter a treatment center and I had an extremely bad attitude when I arrived!
I was determined to find something wrong with SOBA so I could have a reason to leave.
SOBA is different than the other treatment centers we tried multiple times in Michigan. We all failed on numerous attempts.
SOBA is loving, kind, knowledgeable, safe and a peaceful place to recover.
SOBA far exceed my expectations and I stayed in treatment for 16 months.
Our children (3) stayed in treatment for 2 years. My sister and nephews also recovered at SOBA with a lengthy stay in sober living.
It is so important to reside in sober living after inpatient and do the work. Leaving treatment early will end in failure.
If it were not for SOBA I can honestly say several of us would not be alive today.

Getting into recovery is scary, but with my experience at omega it completely changed my life. I went from having the worst thoughts possible to now being able to handle my emotions with new skills and tools provided by clinicians and therapists. They even got my medication stable to where I can function day to day with no problem. When I found Omega, I was desperate for help. I’m a single mom, and had just taken my partner to a treatment center of his own.
I spent the first week or so of being here insisting that it wasn’t gonna work, just seeing as I’ve been in and out of treatment for 11 years now. But, I’ve been here 4 weeks today and I’m so much farther now than I ever thought I could be.
I have to thank all the staff for their continued support and encouragement, and even patience, while I’ve struggled and fought to get to where I am now. I’m on track to get back to my kids and I’m so looking forward to “restarting” my life now that I’m healthier mentally than I’ve felt in, quite honestly, as long as I can remember.
Words will never quite be able to describe or express my gratitude towards Omega and its staff for all the love they’ve shown to me and everyone else I’ve met since I got here. I’ve been able to speak with my kids on a semi-consistent basis, my therapist has been so supportive and helpful, and everyone has been able to sit down and listen/talk with me when I need it. I can’t think of a better center than here for my situation as a parent with two little ones at home. They’re my reason for coming here and all the staff have been so understanding about that, and have used my love for them to push me to do better and BE better so I can go home and truly be the mother my babies deserve.

i was admitted here in august it was my first time ever being in a mental hospital and overall my experience was very nice i was in the sunrise unit, the staff was amazing & made me feel safe comforted and valid! i had a really bad head injury and the staff & medical staff checked up on me everyday i got transferred from the ER where they didn’t even bother looking at my head injury so i was very appreciative of that! i’m now in the outpatient program which is also amazing i will say they definitely need better food but other than that it was amazing :)

I owe my life to the VOA. I came to them, a scared and broken woman. I left armed with the knowledge and coping skills to help me achieve an alcohol-free life. I started out walking to work to do housekeeping at a hotel, and just this past year, was promoted to General Manager. I have yet to touch a drop of alcohol.
