What is sad is the bad comments here are about the Same Policies Any "Good Rehab" place follows. There are Good reasons for these Policies and part of the Important Recovery process. (They should Research this and WHY they are important process. These people just sound like they are not really ready for Rehab. My son is fixing to go here. I will confirm my post then.

I went there back in 2012 and 13. What God did for me through using Eternal Awakenings , has sure lived up to their name, God transformed me and changed me by waking me up. I am humbled to still be apart of this wonderful and God fearing place. I’m also grateful and thankful for what God did for me so that I could step into His identity He had for me, so I too could be used for His glory. I went in for treatment at EA several years ago (2011) and I have never looked back. I had been to a facility in Memphis the year before after losing my son in the Army & I couldn’t seem to get my life together. It helped, but when I had a setback, I looked closer to home & found EA just 30 miles away & from the minute I entered that beautiful, stately home I felt welcomed & loved. Jim and his awesome staff as well as the others in treatment made my stay so productive and life changing. I am a minister’s daughter & the faith based treatment helped me get through & arrive back to myself. Even after my husband’s passing in 2019, I relied on the things I was taught & reminded of from my stay. If you need help for addiction or alcoholism, this is a great place to go - you will make friends you never knew you needed and learn things about yourself that carry you through the next phase of your life. I’m so grateful I found EA.

If it wasn't for this amazing program and facility I wouldn't be here today. It's been almost two years since I first walked through the doors of BRC. I would first and foremost like to say that if it wasn't for the staff for taking genuine interest and concern for my overall being and seeing past my physical appearance that I was struggling with something much deeper than I wouldn't have stayed. I see some negative comments and believe me I had some when I first got to Austin, TX. But, sitting here clean and sober almost 2 years later I will admit that if it wasn't for this knowledge that was given to me by this program, I probably wouldn't be who I am today. I've come to my own realization that your addiction will convince your brain of anything to keep you living in the darkness. It will tell you that you aren't and addict or that because you look different that you aren't an addict. I'm currently still working on underlying problems that led me down the road of addiction and using them to help build my strength to continue this journey of recovery. If it wasn't for BRC I would still be a lost 29-year-old mother of 6 beautiful children and I wouldn't know that a healthy relationship looks like or that firm boundaries with unhealthy people are okay. I walk in a new light thanks to this place and the people that make this program possible. One day my children will also thank them for giving them their mom back! No words can ever express the gratitude that I have for BRC. Please have an open mind when going into this program because I promise it will all be worth it. The program is strict but our addiction are even darker.

This hospital was the nicest hospital I have been to. The staff were all so amazing and friendly, everyone that we met was so helpful and nice. My mother fell and broke her hip while we were on vacation and the EMS crew were amazing. Dr. Twittero was great, got her fixed up and healing quickly. The nurses on her floor went way above, especially Justin, to make her comfortable and to help all of us. Amazing place.

i did discovery's iop and php program and it completely changed my mental health for the better. i've been to a handful of treatment programs and this one was by far the best. i was in such an awful place at the time and after finishing up the program i honestly feel like a new person. the therapists and staff always go above and beyond. they're funny, kind, and honestly make you feel safe. i highly recommend discovery to anyone struggling with mental illness. part of me was sad to leave!

I’m very grateful for this program. Mental health is something to be taken seriously and from day one I always felt like Discovery and the staff understood that and stand by it. My mental health and personal development benefitted greatly from attending Discovery.
There were times where the things we did felt a little repetitive but I did see the benefit in revisiting things as well. I appreciated the patience and encouragement to get better.

This location off of Airport Blvd is amazing. I stayed at The Inn for a week with some concerning mental health issues I've never experienced before. The entire staff, from the monitors to the nurses and medication staff, I mean literally, everyone made my time there comfortable and got me all the help I needed. They always had answers for me on anything I had concerns with.
One person in particular named Marc Bickgen has shown the most of anyone. He has helped me and taught me so much. He comes to my location for counseling since my wife is using our truck for work. He is always on time, and never once has he looked at the clock to try and run out the door. We have had two sessions at my apartment, so his knowledge and leadership with me in my time of need has been an absolute blessing. I've never been shown the respect or had any counselor take the time to show what it means to have a non judgemental, non biased, no opinion, and provide more tools than I have ever known I possessed to help me.
The Inn and Integral Care have been a life changing experience for me, and for the first time in years, I am hopeful with the future.

Windmill Wellness Ranch saved me in more ways than one. All members of the staff care and are genuine in helping people recover. They teach and give you tools in whatever it is that is troubling you and educate those individuals on how to move forward. I am a born pessimist, so I spent a great deal of time looking into this place. First, I found nothing negative whatsoever, Secondly, I spent 60 days here and cried leaving. This place and ALL of it's staff saved my life. I can remember spending countless times in the nurses station, at the wellness advocates desk, and even in the Blanco hall, talking to the different staff about my days, my problems, my achievements, etc. And EVERY SINGLE PERSON TOOK THE TIME TO LISTEN AND HELP OR CHEER ME ON!! There's not a staff member in this place that doesn't care about each person. The therapy sessions are incredible and I can't thank them enough for showing me I wasn't hopeless and giving me all the tools I need to have a beautiful, healthy and sober life. I am 45 years old, and I never thought this was possible.

I went to Great Oaks (affectionately known as GORC) in late December of 2024. For the thirty days I was there I was surrounded by the greatest group of support, education, and therapy. Its been several months and I wouldnt be in the very capable and strong place that I am now without the experience I had. I would recommend GORC to anyone who is struggling with substance abuse and the underlying reasons why.

I didn't know what to expect when I first came . I just knew I needed help with mental health and my Dr felt this was the place for me to receive it . This has been the best decision I have ever made . I feel seen and I know that I'm being heard . They have gone above and beyond for me and I genuinely feel like they care about me and my well being . I come here for medication management (she is so patient with me and listens to what I have to say and if something doesn't work she works with me to figure out what's the next best thing ), I also receive talk therapy here (I've never been so excited to have a therapy session . She won me over with our first meeting . I got off our zoom call feeling like I had just received the biggest hug . I'm literally counting down the days to our next session). Lastly I also receive TMS therapy here . My technician is Joseph most of the time but I've also seen Brianna . They have made this experience amazing for me . Constantly checking on me and talking to me and just letting me know that while I'm there , I'm their main focus . As a mother , I can admit I've forgotten to focus on myself so to have this time that it's all about me is very refreshing . This week we even had a cute little bingo game that made me take some extra steps to being more proactive in getting better . Even if I don't win I'm just excited to fill in the squares. Even the wonderful woman at the front desk is amazing . I'm always greeted with a smile and anytime I've called I've gotten an answer (and you can hear her smiling over the phone ). I said allllll this to say that I'm glad I took this step , I feel so blessed that there is a group of people that care about me and my well being , and I would recommend this place to EVERYONE. They are all truly God sent .

The staff here is truly incredible—both warm and professional. They helped me navigate every step of the process, from dealing with insurance and workplace accommodations to the treatment itself.
Briana handled most of my sessions and was an outstanding technician. She leads with compassion, professionalism, and genuine care for her patients. Alicia also always brightened my day with her kindness and positivity.
TMS can feel confusing and intimidating at first, but the team here made the entire experience smooth, supportive, and even enjoyable.

For free health care, I don’t know why I complain. Probably because I'm a salty lil Karen who can barely get out of bed and when I do; I'm mad 😂 I've been to several VAs and Shavano typically completes everything I ask for help with, even if it takes forever. And I really like Dr K.
Overall with VA healthcare, or pretty much anything nowdays; being direct and asking for what you need WITH UNLIMITED PATIENCE gets the best results.

I've been seeing my Shavano Park team since October, and I like the location and staff. Dr K is great. Today there was some hub-bub with the fire department and I was forgotten about in the waiting room and ended up having to be there a few extra hours😂 The pros to this was the waiting room was comfortable, the staff was funny and I got to get halfway through my new library book. The only suggestion I would make would be maybe some feng shui (zen water fountain and tranquil pictures perhaps?) and coffee station/healthy snacks for the waiting room.

I left this location to go to one that was a little closer to where I live. Big mistake. I never had a problem there. The staff are kind and my Doctor was the best in the world. Dr.Lin. She even came and seen me when I was in the hospital. Which is something that they just don't do. I miss that place.

Outstanding recovery/treatment center.
I was one of the first clients to start off the new PHP program and even though everyone (including staff) was new to the whole thing- everything was absolutely wonderful.
Literally every single staff member is an angel here.
My therapist Jeff was probably the best therapist I’ve ever had. Parker, my case manager was always on top of things and awesome as well.
I felt like a member of a family here and I will remain to be.
Would recommend this place to anyone.

This place help me get clarity and understanding of my addiction and how to change what needs to be changed to live a sober life my case manager desi help me ever step of the way my counselor Robert l was perfect for my treatment he is an awesome counselor also Robert h art help me with his articulture classes to better understand my mental health and emotional wellness rc’s bowe Destiny Parker Brett Luke. Justin are a blessing to have as they all seem to love what they do for us. They are extremely helpful and understanding, the nurses brenda Olivia, Ana and Demi are an asset to new choices. very caring but who I learned most from is Danny who taught me mindfulness and how it works help me understand the parts in my brain and what they consist of, also meditation was very helpful. If you are struggling with an addiction new choices can really help you through it. Also for the families of an addict this place offers an awesome program called family education through zoom that allowed my loved one’s peace of mind and understanding what I was trying to accomplish, and how they can help me do that.after leaving the treatment center i did iop with Taylor who is the best therapist.This is me and my peers at alumni sober.

Dr. Kaminar is incredible! I’ve been seeing him for almost 2 years and he is consistently helpful. As a woman with mental illness, I’ve had doctors constantly dismiss my symptoms and concerns. This has never been the case with Dr. Kaminar. He is so supportive and validates my concerns. Even with the smallest shifts of my health, he is ready to listen and find a solution that works best for me.
