PMS – Totah Behavioral Health Authority t | Treatments Programs Payment Options | This facility deserves a MUCH higher rating than it currently has. The staff at the ATU are absolutely S-Tier human beings and top-notch professionals. I have been to several inpatient facilities before, and this one is by far the best. It’s a very small unit, with a very calm and welcoming vibe. The real treat here is definitely the staff, though. These are genuinely some of my favorite people I’ve ever met. Andy, Liz, Siena, Mel, Laura, literally everybody, all the behavioral techs, all the nurses, those guys deserve a pay raise, SERIOUSLY. I checked myself into the crisis center ATU because I knew I needed some help. Somehow I only got worse during my three days. Over my three days, I saw three different psychiatrists, took part in the only two “skills” groups offered (and those both felt like they were slapped together at the last second), and met with a therapist exactly one time. The person staying in the room next to me played the same 30 second loop of ambient music the entire time I was there and at such a level that I could hear it in my room with the door closed. When I mentioned this was causing me to be overstimulated and harming my mental health I was basically met with a shrug. If you aren’t feeling suicidal when you check in, you almost certainly will be when you check out.
The food is pretty shitty too, but honestly, that I could’ve dealt with.

My elderly friend who is a disabled veteran goes to this clinic for health care from his primary care physician. My friend has no complaints and only speaks highly of the staff in this office.
I drove him to an appointment and walked in with him. The waiting room was clean and comfortable. The front desk staff treated my friend with respect and answered all his questions.

I highly recommend this place.

I am traveling through the area and had a horrible tooth ache. Everyone knows a toothache is the worst, especially when you’re on the road far from your dentist. I was able to get in first thing Monday morning to see the dentist, get the tooth taken care of and be on my way. The employees are courteous, kind and sympathetic. I am so very grateful that they were available to take care of me. The dentist was knowledgeable, assessed the situation and had it taken care of pronto. Thanks Presbyterian Medical Services of Cuba.

Alamosa, Colorado | San Luis Valley Behavioral Health’s County Road location is an outpatient rehab located in Alamosa, Colorado. They offer treatment for anyone with a mental health diagnosis and/or substance use disorder. They also offer 24/7 crisis intervention services to help you in the case of overdose, relapse, or other emergencies you or a loved one face. Th | Treatments Programs Payment Options | I like to leave high star reviews just in hopes maybe someone will actually realize it’s about wanting change and not ruining a business chance at it by affecting their overall ratings. I agree with the comment; “The clinicians are either great or terrible…” ABSOLUTELY. The front desk is cold 98% of the time, has a way of making you feel like an absolute waste of space, time, and effort……Now if this was an Arby’s, or maybe even an eye dr, honestly I’d probably move about my day. But this is MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES. The thought of having people with god awful bedside manner when you’re in such a time of need & vulnerability is absolutely infuriating. Some of us are crippled by social interaction, especially phone calls/confrontation, the least you could expect is someone with more than a monotone voice and dead look in their eyes. Maybe it’s because the fronts & and clinicians are properly medicated/regulated so they come across with no form of emotion….Lapsing on meds, no call backs for days/weeks. I won’t list my dr quite yet in hopes there is progress made. These are quite literally peoples lives you are playing with, if you only have a textbook perception of these disorders, maybe it’s time to look at a different industry.

I have to disagree with some of the latest post. I attended sorensons for a long period of time. Not only did I benefit from the expertise from the many qualified staff. I can tell you first hand that while I was there for 4 years, I did not experience any abuse. Quite the opposite actually, I finally found people who listened to me, people who showed me tough love. I truly believe that was the best thing to happen in my life and Im still in contact with the staff there and it’s been years. Alot of the staff there take a personal intrest in the students. I know I could call Grandma, Jill or Layne if I ever needed anything and they would help. All I can say some of the kids DONT want help.. or to change.. coming from a child whom suffered a lot of physical abuse before getting to the ranch, the consequences they issued like mucking stalls and doing workouts built my character and weren’t abusive, and I’m beyond grateful for this place.

After a hard decision, I sent my son to SRS in 2020, 4 years ago. It changed his life for the better. It took him 2 years, but he did it. Was he 100% different, no, probably 80%, it's a work in progress. Your entire life you will work on your skills with your mental illness and behaviors, but he definitely came home so much better then when he left our family. Life was so much better, and we were able to have a relationship that we haven't had before and the sibling were too. The therapist was fantastic. He even did family therapy with one of the siblings at home that was having the most trouble with my son. He had a genuine interest in the entire family and having them be able to all work together. The entire staff at Sorenson's was wonderful and caring. His case manager would call weekly and update me with what was going on. They made sure he always had doctor and dentist appointments made when needed. If he was ever hurt, they would notify me and take him to the doctors. His favorite things were the campouts and the horses. Yes, you did have to earn them through your levels, which meant you needed to do your work and stay on task with your program. And if you weren't or got in trouble, you lost your points, and you started working on yourself again to earn them back. Things are a privilege and you learn that and you work for them. Yes there we're some people that may have been rougher than they needed to be with the kids but the kids figured out, don't misbehave, Get yourself in gear. My son made great friends while he was there. He even moved back and went to college in the area and was room mates with one of them. He also went back and wanted to work there to help the kids out, but wasn't old enough. Unfortunately almost a year after he graduated he was killed in a car accident. Some of the boys (friends) from the school came to his service, I didn't even know about them, and they shared wonderful stories about their experiences at the school with me. Some of them check in with me online just to see how I'm doing. There's a lot more good things that came out of the school then bad I can say. I highly recommend Sorensons Ranch School.

I was nervous to go here because of the reviews. But once I did, I did NOT regret it. The ladies at the desk were super nice and patient when the need for rescheduling or anything else arose. The counselor I see is awesome and not judgemental which is very important when in this industry and has been hard to find in the medical field in Utah not being an LDS member. Give them a chance. They have more than one counselor if the first doesn't work. I've also got my son into counseling here and I think he will do very well.
