My experience with this particular facility has been nothing but a positive situation for me. The staff, all the way from the Director down to the office girls have been almost like a family to me. The compassion that I have been shown means so much to me & out of all the programs I have encountered, this one is by far the BEST. My councilor has also been a positive force in my life & really gone to bat for me. But most of all, although everyone remains very professional, they are all very caring & treat me with respect. I'm very grateful for this place & I just would like to say "THANK YOU". Sincerely, Jeff Butterfield

After a hard decision, I sent my son to SRS in 2020, 4 years ago. It changed his life for the better. It took him 2 years, but he did it. Was he 100% different, no, probably 80%, it's a work in progress. Your entire life you will work on your skills with your mental illness and behaviors, but he definitely came home so much better then when he left our family. Life was so much better, and we were able to have a relationship that we haven't had before and the sibling were too. The therapist was fantastic. He even did family therapy with one of the siblings at home that was having the most trouble with my son. He had a genuine interest in the entire family and having them be able to all work together. The entire staff at Sorenson's was wonderful and caring. His case manager would call weekly and update me with what was going on. They made sure he always had doctor and dentist appointments made when needed. If he was ever hurt, they would notify me and take him to the doctors. His favorite things were the campouts and the horses. Yes, you did have to earn them through your levels, which meant you needed to do your work and stay on task with your program. And if you weren't or got in trouble, you lost your points, and you started working on yourself again to earn them back. Things are a privilege and you learn that and you work for them. Yes there we're some people that may have been rougher than they needed to be with the kids but the kids figured out, don't misbehave, Get yourself in gear. My son made great friends while he was there. He even moved back and went to college in the area and was room mates with one of them. He also went back and wanted to work there to help the kids out, but wasn't old enough. Unfortunately almost a year after he graduated he was killed in a car accident. Some of the boys (friends) from the school came to his service, I didn't even know about them, and they shared wonderful stories about their experiences at the school with me. Some of them check in with me online just to see how I'm doing. There's a lot more good things that came out of the school then bad I can say. I highly recommend Sorensons Ranch School.

When I sent my Godson to Liahona Academy, it was the hardest decision that I ever made. He has recently graduated, and I now know that it was also the best decision that I ever made. He struggled in the beginning, but once he finally understood that I only wanted him to become a better person, he started making changes. He is now ahead in school, has great grades, and an excellent relationship with anyone that he wants to have a relationship with. I can guarantee that if you sent your son here and you give him time to figure it out, he eventually will, and you will never regret your decision. My Godson came out of Liahona academy as a completely transformed man.He was a child with all kinds of manipulative techniques . Now he is a reborn man, a man who is honest and sincere, a man who you can count on to be a positive leader and have a great attitude.I am grateful for all the staff at Liahona academy, and especially for his therapist Benjamin Haslam, the program director, Richard May, and the case manager, Beverly Carayas.THANK YOU

I was sent to Liahona Academy on September 20, 2019. I graduated on May 7, 2021. This placed changed my life. If I was not sent here, I would be either dead, homeless, or in jail. I was skipping school nearly every day and my grades were terrible. My relationship with my parents was terrible. I was smoking weed almost every day. I dreaded every aspect of my life. Now, I am a year ahead of my regular grade, with a GPA of 3.78. My relationship with my parents is fantastic. I don t ever want to go back to my old life. I love this new life. I recommend that any parent who is struggling with their teen to send them here. It will be a very hard decision, but I can 100% guarantee that it will be worth it.Haris Husetic

Liahona was our last hope and nothing short of a miracle for saving my son s life. The Liahona approach allows customized care based on timing of each boy s willingness to embrace the opportunity for real, lasting change. The Owner Clay along with Rich, Bear and Beverly were wonderful to work with! The Liahona Virgin campus team have built an amazing program with a successful track record and long-term results at treating the whole person, not just the symptoms of bad behavior/substance abuse, but dares to dig deeper uncovering root causes of the problems. My son was a complex case as he exhibited erratic and dangerous behavior along with lingering effects of substance abuse which could have ended his life on multiple occasions prior to admittance. The highly-structured environment with set wake and lights-out times, allows the boys to get into a healthy, balanced and predictable schedule resulting in a solid foundation to become the best versions of themselves and make the most of the program. The well-regulated agenda culminates dependable sleep patterns, individual and group therapy, chores, healthy and consistent meals, with time built-in for exercise, school, homework, faith (of any kind or none at all), personal growth, journaling and reading. Based on progress, working the program and meeting milestones, the boys can earn group outings that may include volunteering a chance to give back to the community, or a fun outing like bowling, hiking or trip to the lake, etc. The staff at the Virgin facility were simply amazing! I can t thank Rich (Program Director) and Bear (our son s Therapist) enough for their vision and lead by example approach to earn credibility, respect and have such a positive power of influence over the most challenging of behaviors. Bear was very honest that our son was one of the more complex cases he had seen and that he wasn t sure if Liahona would be the best fit for him. Bear was absolutely remarkable in treating my son, from day 1, as a fully 100% capable individual and he saw through the faade of substance psychosis, anger, low self-esteem, manipulative and self-centered behavior. The value of the Liahona program incorporates a loving and supportive environment, patiently allowing each boy to come to their own realization and choose to begin the journey-cycle of initiating progress, resulting in gaining confidence, motivating them to work harder, embracing the courage to face adversity and proving to themselves they are capable of setting goals and exceeding expectations. The Liahona program results in building confidence, fueling motivation for more continued growth and is the recipe for achieving not only success in Liahona but prepares each boy for a successful life outside of Liahona in the real world. My son entered Liahona as a troubled boy and graduated the program as a confident young man, eager to work hard, face adversity, exceed every goal placed in front of him, fully equipped with the knowledge and desire to help others along the way. We couldn t be more proud and are forever grateful to the incredible staff and program at Liahona for doing God s work here on earth!

Forte Strong is a residential treatment program for young men in St. George, Utah. They provide residential mental health treatment and coaching for young adult men aged 18 through 30. We were very fortunate to have found Forte Strong for our son when he was struggling to find his place in the world. He had enrolled in college for one semester, and it just wasn't for him. This left him a bit lost and unsure of what to do next. Also, it seemed Covid played a part of his disenfranchisement, and set him (and us) on a path which was not heading in a clear direction. We had definitely somehow failed to provide clear consequences for him and he didn't seem to know how to engage in the world around him in a healthy and positive way. On top of that, he had also always struggled with executive functioning challenges. The staff and well-defined program at Forte Strong worked wonders. The male only program gave him a sense of fraternity which he needed, and the therapists and coaches, as well as Brook Price, the Program Director, were strong advocates and models for engaging in life and moving into an active role in his own story. The program is very structured with clear consequences for following the steps toward overcoming executive functioning issues and getting on track to creating a independent life. I would highly recommend this program to any young man facing similar challenges.I would like to shout out to Brook Price, the Program Director, who was always patiently available for a phone call--sometimes an hour long or more--when our son was having issues within the program. He is compassionate, positive and amazingly patient with us as we worked to renegotiate our approach to our son. Also, the coaches, Elliot Spaulding and Kimball Coffin, were particularly present and available when our son needed it. And at the end, Mikey Smith, was so caring and available, too. The whole staff is truly amazing, caring and available when the young men need it.

Attending Forte Strong has been one of the most impactful decisions of my life. When I first decided to come here, I was initially skeptical of the therapy aspect of the program, due to my less-than-satisfactory prior experiences with therapists. However, as I got settled in, I discovered that the sort of treatment provided at Forte was exactly what I needed.I particularly enjoyed learning wilderness skills and going on hikes with Coach Kimball. St. George is a very beautiful area, and, while very different from the PNW, full of natural beauty. One of my favorite memories is going on the Man vs. Wild camping trip, and all the goofy shenanigans that we got up to. (Cruds! Cruds! Cruds!)The biggest obstacle I had to deal with was getting mobile. Before I came to Forte, I didn t even know how to ride a bicycle, which made for a difficult start on my scooter. I kept at it, though, and didn t let my failures discourage me. It took me six months to get my keys, but that just made it all the sweeter once I finally got them.Socializing with the other students helped me really come into my own. I ve never been a particularly social person, so having to live with a bunch of other guys was a bit of a shake-up as far as my usual routine. That said, I met some of my best friends at Forte, and the relationships I ve forged have helped me gain confidence. The coaches genuinely care about their students, and I feel comfortable counting them amongst the friends I ve made at Forte. I appreciate the hard work they put in to make everything run, and applaud their ability to bring out the best in their students.I m proud to have graduated, happy that this program exists for people like me, and hopeful that more young men will benefit from Forte the way I have.

It's a great place sometimes you have to give some time with your medication to work I tried before bed and it wasn't working or in the morning then i tried 4 hours before sleep and it finally after a couple months if you are on medication and everything is going good that means don't stop taking cause it's working. Also share your goals and maybe sign up for duo diagnose class.. I'm in the mental court and I enjoy how much I have grown in those classes you have to be willing and open minded on the therapy sometimes they know what they are talking while you getting frustrated about overwhelmed about the busy schedule you have but long run it's skills that you can cope to remain sober and cope with your emotions since they play major role on relapse and making bad decisions

As a parent, entrusting someone else with my child—especially during his most vulnerable and difficult time—was one of the hardest decisions my family has ever made. Sending my son to White River Academy was not something our family took lightly, but I can honestly say it is one of the best decisions we’ve ever made. From the moment my family connected with the team at White River, we felt heard, supported, and understood. They have taken the time to truly get to know my son—not just his struggles, but his strengths, his story, and his potential. The staff are incredibly professional, but even more importantly, they are kind, compassionate, and deeply committed to the young men they serve. White River Academy has been truly life-changing for us. We have been and still are impressed by the professionalism, compassion, and dedication of the staff. The program is designed with deep care and intention, focusing not just on behavior modification but on healing the whole person—mentally, emotionally, and physically. We appreciate how they involve us in the process and keep communication open every step of the way. Through therapy, structure, and a lot of patience, I can see my son begin to transform. It’s not overnight, but slowly and steadily we are seeing positive changes. What sets White River apart is their emphasis on relationship-based therapy and real-world accountability. The environment is structured yet supportive, helping my son rediscover his sense of purpose, build emotional resilience, and reconnect with our families in meaningful ways. The staff are not only highly qualified but also genuinely invested in the success of each student. We have found that Delta, Utah, is the perfect setting—quiet, grounded, and far removed from the chaos that had surrounded our lives. The area and building adds sense of peace, focus, minimalism and free from distractions. White River Academy is not a quick fix, but it is an incredibly effective and transformative program

I am the Executive Director of Millard Care & Rehabilitation in Delta, UT. I have worked over the years with many of the team members at White River Academy. We have successfully completed many service projects together. I am so impressed with the administrative team, including Jamie Orulian. I have worked with teachers such as Steven Brown and coaches and team members such as Mr. Will and David Greene. This is a team that values youth and their growth. These are people that exemplify what these great youth can emulate. There are other team members I could name, but I will recuse myself as a result of how high I hold them in esteem and my close relationship. An example of a project which was heart warming and impactful was the Christmas Card project this last Holiday Season! The youth wrote heartwarming messages to our residents at our nursing community and our residents read them or had them read and enjoyed a great experience together. This is the type of meaningful service this group does and the engaged service they participate in regularly.I for one am grateful and reflect often of the gratitude I have that they are in our community.Jeff ChristensenExecutive DirectorMillard Care & Rehabilitation (MCR)

My first encounter with White River Academy was one I will never forget, and each one after has continued to be much the same. I was going to judge by the "vibe" I felt when I walked in. I was greeted with friendly and helpful staff. Their interaction with the boys in their care was patient and kind. The facility is kept clean and decorated to the season with a creative flare, and the food is amazing. I was also impressed how organized everything was. They have live teachers and teachers assistants for their academic program, which is nice for the students to be able to get lessons directly without having to be online. Their therapists are creative and develop groups that are fun and interactive in addition to individual and family sessions. The thing that impressed me the most though was how much everyone really shows they care about helping these kids to be successful at life when they leave there. They take time with them and do what they can to help them understand things that maybe hasn't always made sense. You couldn't ask for more kind and caring people to help these young man walk this path in a very challenging part of their journey. I would highly recommend White River Academy should a residential treatment program ever be necessary.

Matr isnt a ordinary rehab program ..although 12 step program is in the curriculum it is a small portion of the rehabilitation process ...the staff and counselors have all been patients or in recovery themselves. When first walking thru the door u feel as if u just got to ur favorite aunt or relatives house u would visit yearly..you know the ones who never judged u but always made sure u knew when u were * !@&? Up and gave u wisdom and advice to get thru it..jeanie is the sweetest REALEST people ive ever met..no matter the issue if ur genuine and u give 116% she will have ur back and shes saved alot of lives .kept alot of people from dying ,and serving life sentences in prison.shes known world wide and people listen when she speaks..hasnt been like that always if u know her story.but she spoke up for recovery addiction and other important issues and has gotten alot of laws and bills passed.you work with horses the environment is beautiful..not to mention the mind body and soul work ..its amazing what you learn..this is where u want to be if you want to change ur life..and u can smoke cigarettes .lol..

This place changed my life!!! I came to Juniper canyon in February of 2022 absolutely broken and defeated. This place got me sober (and kept me sober) changed my entire perspective on life and what it means to be me, and shaped me into the woman I am today. My most sacred and special moments were spent in Utah with these absolutely incredible people and I am forever grateful. I have a beautiful, fun and full life today that would not have been possible without Legacy.
