7.55 / 10 | Embark Behavioral Health - Canyon Road Springville in Springville, Utah, is an accredited residential treatment center for mental and behavioral health, based in the foothills of the stunning Wasatch Mountains, right in Hobble Creek Canyon. Support here is available to teen girls, nonbinary folk, and LGBTQ+ individuals. Flexible payment is availabl | Treatments Payment Options | My experience with Embark has been wonderful. My daughter was mentally unstable when arriving to Embark. I called several different facilities and Embark was the best option. Intake Specialist, Financial Rep, Therapists, Drs, Nurses the entire team was supportive as especially being 19 hrs away from home. Family sessions were conducted as needed, the open communication and emails were great to keep me updated with progress. This is the first place that was supportive of my decision not to rush to put my daughter on Meds as soon as possible. My daughter remained at Embark for 4 months and I can say she has matured, developed more self esteem, improved respect and has showed tremendous improvement in her mental health. She currently only taking meds that’ she actually needs but eventually can be winged off. Therapist Ray and Beth has checked on my daughter and means so much to us. My daughter talks about how she’ misses the mountains and all the kind people she met while there. My daughter experienced good days with peers and bad days but every experienced was needed for her growth. I appreciate everyone that was apart of our experience. As far as price holy crap it is pricey lol but there’s payment plan options (if you qualify). Before my daughter was released, a ceremony was held. Now that she’s home, she’s still apart of Embark online Therapy which was also another option. I love it bc her progress and growth continues. My daughter misses the chef that’s at the house, the trail walks and 24/7 care. Thanks so much.

i stayed here from 6/16/22 to 9/6/22. i really liked my stay here. i have so many positive memories from embark, like stealing an ice cream bucket and eating it in a closet with broken hangers with my roommates, bug hunting with my favorite staff members (laura and carsen), and so many more. one thing i did not like here was how every time i would level up, a rule would change and i wouldn’t be able to do that certain thing. for example, the “transition room” for the clients on transition, was automatically no longer the transition room when i leveled up, and another example, also while i was on transition, parents could take out their kids for a few days AND overnights while visiting, but as soon as i hit transition, guess what? they took that away. other than that, my therapist cameron was amazing and helped me in so many ways. the staff that worked there when i was there have moved on with their lives and i have too, but i still think about my embark days.

Embark is a wonderful residential treatment facility for teenage girls. My daughter was spiraling out of control for two years and after trying everything we could, I researched places all over the country and decided on Embark. The entire staff was amazing. The communication we received weekly about the progress was so detailed. The building is comfortable and homey, giving the girls the perfect environment to work on their mental health goals. The therapists were phenomenal. It was three months of intensive individual, group and family therapy. They also provided the structure and routines to help develop character, resilience and responsibility. I can’t say enough good things about Embark. I will be forever grateful for how my family was able to repair our lives with the guidance of Embark.

I’ve spent the better part of the last 11 years of my life at Provo Canyon School as a full time teacher and when Covid situations caused a need for additional student life mentors, and since my heart broke for the many teens who were in treatment during the pandemic, I became a substitute evening, and sometimes weekends overnight staff member to help during this time of needed compassion and supervision for the situation of these teens. I am also the parent of a child named Mikey (naming him here because I have four other children and don’t want any of them to feel that their identity and reputation could be compromised by anything I say here about their brother and his experience in five separate behavioral and treatment facilities that he and I together chose to place him in to help him learn to deal with his addiction and his life traumas). In-patient treatment is at best always tough because vulnerable children are away from their parents, family and familiar friends as they voyage into living in a dorm setting with other children with some similar issues, and some with much more complex issues. Provo Canyon School provides these children with fantastic psychiatrists who also work in private practice outside the facility. My son, (who was a student body President, a medical assistant, and, sadly an Opoid addict who sometimes used illegal drugs to self medicate his bi-polar mental disorder) was prescribed, and responded very well to medications similar to what the PCS doctors prescribe our patients. Like some of these respondents on the PCS comments page, he went through spells of feeling inadequately or overly medicated until the right dosage was attained by his doctors and his compliance in taking the meds correctly and having nurses, teachers, staff, and therapists work together to help him communicate and observe the meds that helped him feel “right” mentally. This process is not easy for the patient, family, nor staff or facility in general, and a lot of patience and energy is required to just get the meds right for the desired behaviors to happen. I question negative comments by some of our past students here because time and time again I have witnessed some dramatic and wonderful mental and behavioral improvements in my PCS students within a couple weeks of getting on properly prescribed meds if needed and getting away from the substances that some may have been detoxing from.
In 11 years, I have never seen any patient not have more than enough clean water from clean drinking fountains and more good food and tasty snacks, all planned and reviewed by competent dietary professionals and good cooks. Teachers and staff often dine with patients in the cafeteria and requests for special diet accommodations are often honored.
As far as academics are concerned, I have worked at five accredited public schools in two states and have never worked with more distinguished and professional school academic directors than we have now at PCS and both have been at the school for over ten years.
Many of the teachers have masters degrees and most have double majored with special education credentials to help both gifted and special needs students.
As far as I have been able to determine, comparing PCS with the five facilities that my own son attended, (wish I had known about PCS at the time) the school directors, leadership and all facility employees that I have observed are doing an amazing job of using Trauma Informed Care, best practices, professionalism and kindness in helping patients learn the skills and have the knowledge to become happy, successful and productive members of our society.

Please don’t judge this place just because of the Paris Hilton case that by the way didn’t win the case!. That happened a long time ago, with different staff and a different owner. Things are not the same now. Let that sink in. First of all let me start by no one gets denied food or medical attention if you or your kid claims they did then they still need help cause at that point it was up to them to eat or not and IF it was true they probably got denied food because they asked for something to eat when the cafeteria is closed or because they just want more n staff didn’t have more snacks that was provided !
I’ve been there, and honestly, it wasn’t as bad as people say. I’ve seen kids cry when they had to leave not because they were scared or hurt, but because they didn’t want to go. Some kids even told the staff they felt like family. If it was really that terrible, no one would feel that way. I really liked my staff. They were nice, they helped us through a lot, and they treated us with respect when we followed the rules. We got to do fun activities on the weekends, and when we behaved well, we got rewards like group hangouts or movie time. It wasn’t just about rules it was about learning how to be better and how to work together.
Now, I won’t lie and say everything was perfect. Swing A had some problems. The manager didn’t really seem to care or listen, and it made those days they worked feel kind of cold. Some staff on swing A weren’t as patient either. That part needs to change, because how staff treat kids really matters. But even then, there were still a few good people trying their best. Some people write bad reviews just because they didn’t like being told what to do. This place isn’t meant to be a vacation you can’t sit in your room all day or act out and expect no consequences, I seen a girl get jumped because she refused in her room and that’s exactly why they can’t be in rooms all day cause staff can’t watch everyone all over the unit! It’s not a chill spot It’s about learning and growing. That can be hard sometimes, but that doesn’t mean it’s abusive or unsafe. A lot of people forget that kids and staff are human. Mistakes happen. Sometimes staff were strict or got annoyed, and sometimes kids didn’t follow the rules. But I always felt like there were people there who cared staff are human and have feelings too and take a lot of mental/ emotional abuse too but They listened when you needed to talk and celebrated when you made progress. If it was really such a horrible place, it would have been shut down already. But it’s still open, and it’s still helping kids. It’s not perfect but it’s not awful either. I had a lot of good times and learned a lot about myself, and for that, I’m grateful

Aptly named, the Lighthouse Treatment Center serves as a beacon of light and hope for those suffering the afflictions of substance use disorders. I was on a path of self-destruction and was able to right myself towards a path of recovery wholly due to the care, compassion, counseling, therapy, and education imparted by the Lighthouse Leadership Team and Staff.
This is a truly an exceptional program focused on a holistic approach to rehabilitation and recovery. All facets crucial to a healthy and successful launch to recovery are carefully addressed, focused on restoring physical, mental, and emotional states of well-being.
Physical health is carefully monitored and medical needs are addressed and met by a competent and compassionate medical team. In addition to 24 hour access to snacks and beverages, nutritional needs are met by an outstanding kitchen staff, where healthy, well-balanced, freshly prepared and delicious meals are provided three times a day. Psychological education essential to the recovery process is imparted by well-trained and empathetic personnel whose compassion and dedication is readily apparent from day one. Both a licensed counselor and therapist are personally assigned to each client for one-on-one weekly meetings, who also have an open door policy to effectively address any needs related to your treatment progress. The facility itself is clean, peaceful, and well-maintained, providing comfortable accommodations and an overall environment conducive to a smooth and successful recovery.
It is important to emphasize how critical and effective the Lighthouse Staff and Team were in launching me to an overall state of well-being, where the daily encountered challenges of life we are overcome with understanding, patience and compassion. These are the attributes I encountered from the staff during my treatment at the Lighthouse and I am proud to be an alumnus to carry on this tradition of a program that ultimately saved my life and paved the way for a happy and healthy future.

I didn't respect that about that man because I been through a lot I wonder why he is a therapist there. Much love and respect to cedar House may the Lord Jesus Christ and God Almighty help every brother and sister to get clean and stay on the right track.Because I left on the first day but I'm doing great thank God I really appreciate the whole staff just when I was telling my testimony he took it likely on what I was saying I been through a lot of trauma and I will not tell James my testimony anymore while I was in the program.Because I talk to a therapist before and they were way better than he was. He doesn't even know me but he made it seem like I was lying about what happened to me in my pass. And it seemed like he had selective hearing like I was talking to myself. I think they need to replace that man and I pray that financially that cedar House stays open for many more years to come. I'm 35 years old I can't program with other man that are focused on the same things of the passed it's more reasons why I left and the programing we were talking about sex I think we should be programing talking recovery and making right decisions and staying away from people of our pass.they could had programs about that when I left I only went to one program that was talking about sex I'm just talking about what I seen on the first program. but to each its on they have to make some things up to make sure everyone is busy if you stay busy in there is no idol time so I understand.im focused on spirituality and .starting this automotive course at chaffey in the summer I'm already signed up and getting in Na Aa meetings I want this better sober life with or without a program God bless you all.

My stay at recovery beach was a fantastic experience I didn’t want to come in the first place because I didn’t want to get help at all. When I flew in from Texas to California I was nervous but the staff here made sure I got to the facility safe and sound and they picked up me right from the airport and brought me here. The staff and clients here are very nice and helpful people, the staff here checks on clients and make sure everyone is doing well with there stay and also happy while being here. The group meetings they have there are very helpful and very informative also. They have councilor David Waller to talk if there’s concerns about your job, court cases, discharge date, family contact, etc. The help there at recovery beach was amazing and I recommend it for all who are in need of help.

I went through IVRS in May of 2020 and I was a complete mess. Drugs and alcohol were how I coped with the emotional distress I had been long experiencing and during my time at IVRS the staff, the structure, and the atmosphere provided me with an atmosphere that I could make a lasting change. Today, I am not just sober; I am at happy & at peace. I don't miss the days I used to abuse drugs/alcohol and that is an absolute miracle. Santa Ana, CA | The Edge Treatment Center is an acclaimed drug and alcohol rehab for adults in Santa Ana, California. They offer ambulatory detox, outpatient care, and medication assisted treatment to people recovering from addiction. If you need higher intensity inpatient treatment or a sober living program, you can be connected to one of their trusted partners. | Programs Payment Options | What can I say about the edge? I called Rory and explain to him that my friend needed help and that he was in desperate need of treatment. My friend had asked me to help him and the only person I knew to reach out to was the first person I called. Surprised it was the edge. Needless to say my friends insurance did not cover the cost of him coming from a tiny Town in Texas all the way to Orange county california. However, Rory stayed on the phone with me and kept in touch with me and my friend and his mom. We had to jump through some hoops and some red tape. My friend used to be a Marine. He was diagnosed with a lot of different types of things. Rory literally held my hand over the phone as we walked through this journey. We finally got my friend to a rehab center in Texas. Rory had nothing to gain but everything to give. He showed us all compassion and Hope. He encouraged me whenever I felt stuck and I couldn't help my friend. However, to this day my friend is in a rehab in Texas getting well. He's being treated perfectly. The facility that he sent my friend to is perfect for him. He is still on the road to recovery but I know in my heart that it will stick.. the encounter that I had with this facility that my friend didn't even get to attend will be a lasting result of Total recovery. Thanks to the edge we finally have answers. Thanks to the edge my friend found the place that he needed to be and the help he needed. I genuinely am grateful and thankful and so is my friend's entire family. Without the edge coming in and helping us I don't know where we would be today. Amazing staff. They go above and beyond their call of duty for those who have been in the line of duty. I give five stars Plus on their services and their staff. I cannot say thank you enough.

This place gave me a foundation to stand on when I needed help. My advocate Herman was really cool to me. He encouraged me and helped me get through the program. The kitchen staff accommodated my dietary allergy to gluten and were awesome about giving me different types of foods. I got on the right meds thanks to my stay here and I honestly now feel like I can do anything. Dr Perch listened to my concerns and adjusted my meds as needed, something a lot of drs don t do, sadly. If you re looking for a good place to feel safe and get stabilized, this is it. You also earn more privileges as you do the program which helps the day go by faster. It s not like most mental hospitals. It s way more progressive.

Pasadena, CA | Impact Drug and Alcohol Treatment Center in Pasadena, California is a rehabilitation facility that provides evidence-based recovery services. Some of the services available to clients include residential and outpatient treatment, family services and long-term aftercare. The organization started in 1969 with the idea of peers helping each other hea | Treatments Programs Payment Options | I unfortunately didn’t get to spend much time at IMPACT due to personal reasons but they went COMPLETLY out of their way to make it as possible as it could to make me stay. I wanted to stay so bad. If you are SERIOUS about recovery I highly recommend this place. They mean it when they say they are there for you. I wanted to thank the staff, Erica, Tommy, Jeff, Rick, James, TGia, Dr. Payne, Bailey, ahhhh, and everybody else for believing in me and ensuring they believe in my recovery. I actually finally realized substance isn’t the way to go. The classes and groups and AA meetings both in and OUT of house meant so much. They know what they are doing here and I wish I could say I could go but as I mentioned I’m moving states for personal reasons otherwise I’d stay. This place holds my little heart. Even if it was just for a moment. They are here. Love you guys. (Also the gardens are beautiful and there are cats that roam around if you care 😭)

I don’t usually write reviews like this, but Cornerstone deserves one.
The people at Cornerstone were there for me at a time in my life that I needed help the most. I came in needing structure, honesty, and a place where I could begin to really work on myself and to even understand what that meant. What I found was a program that gave me all of that, but also gave me something I didn’t fully expect: people who I connected with and genuinely cared.
Recovery for me has not been easy. It’s been uncomfortable, emotional, humbling, and at times it’s forced me to look at things I was avoiding. Nick my therapist did not do the work for me, but he created an environment where I could dig deep and work on myself while he provided me with insights and guidance along the way.
I also want to recognize Richard and Eric, who were both great case managers. They were relatable in their own ways, supportive, honest, and patient, but they also held me accountable when I needed it. That balance I needed. They helped me stay focused, understand the process, and take responsibility for my recovery in a real way. I always felt like they cared about me as a person, not just as someone moving through a program.
Lauren also deserves a lot of credit for the Alumni Association. One of the biggest fears after treatment is wondering what comes next. Lauren helps keep that connection alive. She creates a sense of community with prior clients and reminds people that recovery does not end when the program ends. That continued support matters more than people probably realize.
Melissa and Teri were excellent group facilitators. They came prepared, their groups were honest, meaningful, and often exactly what I needed, even when I didn’t want to hear it. They each brought compassion, experience, education, and directness into the room. The groups helped me reflect, listen, open up, and understand myself better. The conversations where we searched for “the why” will stay with me.
I also want to give special recognition to Jorge, the house manager. He is dedicated, caring, and deeply committed to sobriety. He puts his own, and everyone else’s sobriety, above all else. That is not just something he says. It is how he shows up every day for over 20 people. He holds people accountable, but he does it from a place of real concern and experience. He cares about the house, the people in it, and the recovery of everyone around him. I have great respect for an another man who is so humble.
Cornerstone is not just a treatment center. It is a place where real change can happen if you are willing to be honest, humble, and open to the process. I am extremely grateful for my time there, for the staff, and for the impact the program had on my life.
I had a great experience, and I would highly recommend Cornerstone to anyone who is serious about recovery, ready to change their life, and prepared to do the work. Good luck on your journey.

i truly do not understand why the VCC gary center has low reviews… i visited them twice this past week and i had a great experience. the front desk staff can be a little cold, but once you talk to them they are helpful. my first visit was with dr mansuri and he was so welcoming and made me feel seen/heard. ive had troubles in the past getting an oncologist referral but dr mansuri made it happen without any issues. im very thankful for him and im excited to have him as my doctor. i also visited the dentist and i absolutely LOVE dr dayrit. she is seriously the best.. so kind and fun to talk to. i feel very well cared for and had a fantastic time. the dentist assistant (im sorry i don’t have your name) was also extremely sweet and caring.

2024 was a transformative year for me, and a big part of that was due to my time at A Peace of Mind. As a first-time resident in a sober living environment, I didn’t know what to expect, but from the moment I walked through the doors, I felt welcomed, supported, and understood.
The house provided a safe and structured environment that was crucial for my recovery. The staff were compassionate, knowledgeable, and always available to offer guidance. They truly cared about my progress and went above and beyond to ensure I had the tools and resources I needed to succeed.
What I loved most was the sense of community. The other residents became like family to me, and we supported each other through every step of our journeys. The group meetings, activities, and shared experiences helped me build strong, lasting connections that I know will continue long after leaving the house.
This sober living house didn’t just give me a place to stay; it gave me a fresh start, hope for the future, and the strength to continue on my path to sobriety. My bed was right next to the ice cold AC and I would sleep like a baby! I always wanted to be home. I love the Old Victorian look and feel. I can’t thank the team enough for everything they’ve done for me. If you or a loved one are seeking a supportive, uplifting, and empowering environment for recovery, I highly recommend A Peace of Mind.
