If you are serious about your recovery and want a team of people to support you then this is an amazing place to help you get your life together. Most of the staff are in recovery themselves so they know all to well how real the struggles are. If you're not too serious about your recovery then they will still help push you towards sobriety but you get what you put into it (as in many things in life). I know this place has probably saved my life. More than once. I will forever be grateful and highly suggest Freedom House to anyone struggling with their own addiction and/or mental health issues.

5-Star Google Review for Kingwood ApartmentsI had a wonderful experience staying at Kingwood Apartments! The leasing office staff is incredibly kind and prompt, especially Isvela, who has been so helpful since the day I reached out. I signed my lease while I was still in India, and she guided me through the entire process smoothly, making everything so much easier for me.I d also like to give a big thank you to the maintenance team, they were always quick to respond whenever I submitted a request, and they completed everything on time. Their efficiency made my stay even more comfortable. The apartment itself is great, and the community is welcoming and student-friendly, making it an ideal place to live. This was my first time living alone, and that too in a new country, but Kingwood Apartments made it such a positive experience.Thank you to the entire team for making my stay so enjoyable! I highly recommend Kingwood Apartments to UNC students and anyone looking for a great place to live.

Dr. Reid is the premier anxiety specialist in the USA. His approach to panic disorder is paradoxical and highly effective. Since he doesn t accept insurance (like a growing number of therapists of all persuasions) of course he will appear expensive. He takes time to see if a potential client will respond positively to his approach. I have known him for years, learned his approach to panic disorders, and referred multiple clients to him. He does use CBT when that is the most reliable intervention. I strongly recommend him for treatment of any anxiety disorder.Bohdan Hrynewych, LCSW

Reid Wilson PhD is a superb cognitive behavior therapist, very highly regarded by the rest of us CBTers. For anyone with panic disorder, agoraphobia, OCD, phobias or an anxiety disorder treatment by Dr. Wilson would include the most advanced, cutting edge techniques, delivered with caring and compassion. I am one of many other psychologists who have repeatedly traveled many miles to learn from Reid Wilson. He is regarded as one of the premier practitioners of CBT in the United States. HIs kindness and generosity are also well known.

I started going to BAART 5-6 years ago after struggling with opioid addiction for years and I personally feel as if it saved my life. . . But I wanted it to. There are some amazing people who work there and who truly care about the patients recovery and bettering their lives. There are the people who work the program to really get themselves better and then there's the ones who just use the methadone to "not be sick" or in withdrawl but still use/get high. I have recommended BAART to multiple people and have also helped a few people with starting g treatment here.

I am just completing two weeks at Structure House for the first time. I bought their special 4 week package and paid for 3 weeks.I will use my other 2 weeks within the year.I came to get back on track as I was out of control with my eating and my eating habits. I knew they had a gym and life coaches but I was blown away by the quality of their dietician Ben, who offered a series of lectures with handouts which will be extremely useful once I return home. I was also very pleased with Katie, who is only 26 and in charge of the fitness program. I didn't realize there would be consistent exercise classes targeting the whole body as well as private sessions both included weekly as well as available for private classes as well. The food was good, with many details of caloric value and the best way to both lose and maintain weight, which tied into the Dieticiansseminars. The chef Thomas is very flexible, available, and down to earth.Lastly the life coaches gave classes every day on where out emotions fit into over eating and much advice on how to manageour stress and move forward to the life and weight we want to have. The program TOTALLY exceeded my expectations and I look forward to returning for my next 2 weeks for a refresher.I highly recommend-every staff member is very friendly and welcoming and the atmosphere and camraderie of the guests who come is non judging and enjoyable.LInda L

After life-long challenges with depression, I thought I had experienced or tried everything that therapy and psychiatry could provide. My experience at Pasadena Villa Outpatient in Raleigh in their partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs has showed that there are ways to receive evidence-based therapy, such as CBT and DBT, in a way that was more effective than I could have imagined. Every therapist and psychiatrist I spoke with during my time there was pleasant and it was more than clear that all they wanted to do was help me with my mental health challenges. I would recommend this place to anyone struggling with mental health challenges that wishes for something more involved than regular therapy: you will feel better for it.

The Insight Program was exactly what I needed. I came into the intensive outpatient program after being referred from an inpatient I attended in Georgia when I was 17 years old. I did 13 weeks of IOP and then stayed in their support group for 1 1/2 years. This program taught me how to be sober and live a sober lifestyle in a way that I could understand and relate to. I had been to 4 other treatment centers when I ended up here. I connected with this place the most because all of staff are in recovery and had gone through the program themselves. They were immediate examples that recovery was possible for me, and I knew they understood what I was going through because they had gone through it themselves. The meetings and functions gave me things to do in the evenings other than using substances and people my age who were sober to socialize with. This program gave me the environment and tools I needed to learn how be sober and take ownership over my life. I have 3 years sober next month and have fully transitioned into AA, but I will forever be grateful for my experience here and what I learned.

I went through this program in 2019 and became an alumni. It changed my life and helped me develop a solid network of people in recovery in this area.Unfortunately, after 2.5 years of sobriety, I moved away from Raleigh and stopped working a recovery program and ended up relapsing and losing everything over the course of a few months. What makes this place so special to me is that when I called, they sent someone to Wilmington to pick me up and brought me back into the program... And I've never had to pay a penny for any of their services! If you want to change your life and are willing to do the work, this place always has its doors open!

Wonderful facility and supportive staff! As a new member of the City of Raleigh's Community Engagement Board, I want to learn more about organizations serving our community members. I chose Healing Transitions' Women's Campus as my first site visit because I live nearby and I wanted to see what my neighbors who are experiencing homelessness have access to. I had the opportunity to meet staff and received an amazing tour by Carol, a peer-mentor (former program participant), who guided me through the entire facility and shared information about the programs available at the Women's Campus. The location is beautifully situated in a canopy of trees with several outdoor amenities for gathering. When I arrived, without an appointment, I was greeted by, Kristin, another former program participant, who connected me with Kathy Worley, Women's Planning Room Team Lead.Kathy shared information about the primary services offered: Long-term recovery program, emergency drop-in shelter, and non-medical detox. They provide on-demand shelter and non-medical detox services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Both serve as entry points for the recovery program, but direct entry into the program is possible if detox is not necessary. Two days a week a nurse and physician provide medical triage for various conditions. Healing Transitions also offers a family support program (open to family, friends, and loved ones) and they have outreach efforts lead by their Rapid Responders who are state-certified, peer support specialists. This group of specialists build relationships and connect people in Wake Co. to life-saving resources within 24 - 72 hours of overdosing.I would recommend individuals seeking services and those that care about someone experiencing homelessness and/or substance use to contact Healing Transitions. I also recommend local businesses and individuals to make contributions (e.g., financial contributions, provide in-kind services, or volunteer) to support this local organization. Healing Transitions is a registered nonprofit and all donations are tax deductible. I would also suggest community organizations, businesses, or other groups inquire about renting their beautiful board and community rooms. The spaces have amazing views of the wooded property and are easily accessible from the facility's private parking lot.Thank you very much for allowing me to visit with staff and program participants as well as for the insightful tour! I look forward to sharing information about opportunities at the Healing Transitions' Women's Campus and will see if I can learn more about the Men's Campus in Downtown Raleigh, next!

I know a lot of people are embarrassed to talk about mental health but, if anybody needs help this is a great place to go if you don't have a lot of money and you still need help. They have this wonderful program with Gurley's Pharmacy to help you with filling your prescriptions.

This place probably saved my life. Everyone from the receptionist to the Dr. Was very nice and helpful. Itsnot easy to ask for help, but Freedom House in Durham makes it less painful and embarrassing.

Carolina House saved my life. I am forever grateful for my amazing therapist, Marisa, and dietician, Sarah, who worked extremely hard to help me reach my goals. CH was flexible with my needs and made me feel safe and comfortable. With any treatment center, there were flaws. You have to be motivated and willing to do the work independently as at times the supervision is limited. I was exposed to many new foods that I previously would have never tried! Shout out to Kenly for all the variety. 1:1 Exposures, restaurant outings, and weekend outings made you feel more normal in a stressful situation. The BHA s were always there when needed, even in the middle of the night. Nursing never made me feel like a burden or uncomfortable when talking about health concerns. The homelike setting made it easier to carry over skills when I was discharged. Be brave and do the next right thing.

This facility saved my life. I don't have enough good words to say about Carolina House. Staff were so great. I had a wonderful therapist (Anna) and a great dietitian (Emma). I was challenged in ways I didn't realized I need to be challenged in. I left in such a good place in my recovery thanks to Carolina House. There are definitely problems with the facility but there is no perfect facility. There might be some problems but the good outweighs the bad. You do need to be in a place where you want recovery as this program is meant for those with self-accountability.
