I was fearful in venturing to this hospital, given the negative reviews. I feel the bulk of them stem from the falling rate of intellectualism in its geographic location. My experience was as pleasant as imaginable. I was triaged within minutes. I had tremendous lower back and abdominal pain. James Ryan, P.A., administered physical tests, listened to my concerns, ordered additional (and relevant) diagnostic tests, and accurately diagnosed my issue as musculoskeletal. He was very concise through the entirety of our interaction, asked many relevant questions and quelled all concerns. Thanks James and the Meritus team!

Long, long wait to be seen, treated and otherwise but high rating for the first doctor in my mother's almost 67 years of life to kneel to her (5ft) level. Kudos for them!

My family and I have received exceptional care at Berkeley Medical Center on several occasions. The doctors and nurses are very attentive and have great medical expertise. The opening of a new world-class emergency facility is a terrific addition to this hospital and will benefits thousands of patients for years to come.

Nicky helped teach me so many things I really wish I had learned at a younger age, would've kept me out of trouble and away from self destructive coping mechanisms a long time ago and saved me a lot of legal fee money. I'd give 10 stars if I could and if you're reading this thinking about getting treatment apply yourself to this program and really put your all into it I guarantee it already helps

This is the best IOP in the area. As a professional working with the courts, they have been my go to when i have questions about substance use treatment and referrals. Even if they are not the best fit for my clients, they connect me with the appropriate service provider.

I had quite the journey trying to find the right therapist for me but everything changed when I met Siria. She’s made going to therapy something I enjoy. Worth every penny. Can’t recommend this practice and Ms. Minaya enough.

I’ve been at Insight for five years and have been able to grow professionally and as a clinician. I stay at Insight because I love it here. I have the freedom to set my own schedule and am encouraged to be as creative as possible. As therapists we’re often working with difficult situations. Even so, there is an atmosphere of joy and laughter in the office – one that our clients feel as well. When my close family members have asked me where they should go for therapy, I’ve referred them to Insight Into Action Therapy.

*Disclaimer:* This is a review for Kellar’s psychiatric medication management services only, as my child has not attended PHP here and is not involved in any of their other therapy programs either. I have also been told that the Kellar School is not technically connected to this location despite sharing a name and resources, so if you see any reviews here for that, just disregard them. *And now for the actual review:* My 13-year-old has a lot of developmental and intellectual deficits that has made finding a psychiatrist who can treat her extremely difficult, as most do not have the necessary expertise to communicate with her in a way that doesn’t send her into a behavioral crisis and unfortunately more than a few psychiatrists are unwilling break from their usual playbook when planning her care because they just don’t work with this population enough or they don’t have adequate time in their schedules to allow for a truly individualized approach for care. Basically, working with Autistic/intellectually disabled children is an art form, and only a few providers can wield that brush effectively. Dr. Shruti Tewari is this provider. The way she is able to talk to my child at her level of understanding without coming off as condescending is incredible, and actually allows my child the dignity and ability to be an active participant in her care, which is a right but absolutely not a guarantee for the neurodivergent patient. Just to give a little taste of what previous psychiatry practices find acceptable, up until now appointments have involved my child staring off into space while the clinicians completely ignore her the whole appointment, opting instead to just have us, the parents, answer questions about what we think her issues are, which puts me in the difficult position of having to talk about her like she isn’t even in the room when she’s actually able to understand just enough of what is going on to know we are talking about her like she is just a problem to solve, which I’m sure you can imagine is not great for a growing child’s self-esteem. Anyway, to wrap up a review that somehow now also doubles as a rant about how absolutely dismal the current state of American mental healthcare is, Kellar’s reception staff is kind, professional, and they actually answer the phone (no dealing with call centers 5 states away or playing the endlessly frustrating game of email tag! Woo!). Yes, there can be a fairly long waitlist for this practice, but trust me, put your kid on it anyway, because by the time your child’s number comes up you’ll more than likely be joyously ready to switch from whatever psychiatrist you did end up finding for them. And If the other psychiatrists at this practice are even half as competent as Dr. Tewari, you are already in better hands than you would be with 99.9% of other providers, and I’m sure you want what’s best for your kid, otherwise you wouldn’t be here, would you? Good luck with everything, having a child who needs psychiatric help can really drain your spirit no matter how much you want to be better than that, hopefully this review can help make your family’s journey just a little bit easier and a lot more humane. After applying to this clinic for my daughter, I reviewed online reviews and didn't respond to the email I received for a consultation. Then I decided to try it. I figured if I didn't like it, I wouldn't continue. Coming here was the best decision of my life. Dr. Kalaskar and therapist Pritchard are the perfect people I've met. Speaking with them, all my stress and fear melted away. I felt a sense of "We'll figure it out." They guided not only my daughter but also me. They provided clear and insightful answers to my questions. They kept me updated. I owe you a great deal. I hope we meet again, but not as patients.

My niece and nephew see Dr Mirza and Dr Peters they are both absolutely amazing. They are patient offering the best advise and directions for the kids. My nephew also sees a therapist Sarah she is outstanding. Sarah and the Dr's are responsive, and extremely professional. The Staff at both locations Fairfax and Loundon have been fantastic!! And I mean from the beginning scheduling all intake appt and ensuring the kids and I were comfortable. I appreciate the dedicated teams at the Keller Centers

Did volunteer work here. Definitely a friendly and welcoming environment. Great atmosphere. Very clean. It’s variety of programs here not just for AA/NA. Parking is limited and can be difficult. Great places to eat at around the area after you’re done.

After about 700 visits, I can say the experience is positive. The two reviewers asked to leave must’ve been acting up something fierce. A friendly, positive recovery environment

Things could always be better, but a lot of people need help, and not very many people feel like helping.

I was a patient here in 2023. I had a good time there I met amazing staff and patients In there, also a very good therapist, the rules they made were very understandable but yeah one thing I didn’t like was having to be in the room and not being able to pace the hall. When we went outside it’s ridiculous, I can’t even see grass. And the patio is soooo small. But overall I fw it

Last night my daughter was discharged from this facility. From the moment we arrived until late yesterday afternoon this place and its staff not only met our needs but in many ways exceeded our expectations. We arrived on a Saturday night at approximately 9:30 and there was more staff available then I saw the entire time my daughter was in another inpatient hospital. They are a little more strict than I was expecting. There were items I packed for her similar to what the other hospital allowed that were sent back with me so please keep that in mind if you choose treatment here. Those items included thong flip-flops for the shower, Crocs were okay though with no charms, tank tops and shorts and of course a couple of the books were deemed inappropriate. They also didn't allow for us to bring products from home as the hospital supplies everything. This I did not mind. She was there for 12 days and during that time I was called daily and updated on every step of her treatment plan. My thoughts and opinions were listened to and considered and I never felt the churn and burn of let's get them in and out. Her therapist and nurse practitioner as well as the psychiatrist that worked with us were kind, understanding, and informative. Patients are allowed to call twice a day for about 5 minutes. The times are usually after lunch and after dinner however we could call and leave messages or ask for a check-in but we didn't find that necessary as we were in daily contact. They allow 20 minute visits every other day with an option to Zoom which was extremely helpful considering we live an hour and a half away and there were a couple of days we could not make it up. Our main goal was to sort out medications to get her stabilized. That was done and more. She had homework to do for herself, we learned about intellectualizing emotions which is something I never considered, and there was a clear safety plan and well thought out blueprint for actions that would be helpful when agitation and overwhelming feelings and thoughts occur. Of course I read the reviews before we went and I'm grateful to know that oftentimes it's the not so great reviews that get written as opposed to the positive ones so I really wanted to express my gratitude to Brook Lane and their staff. It was a positive experience all around.

I had the great pleasure of being entrusted with the position of Psychiatric Care Technician at NVMHI. I am deeply sorry to hear that some patients had a less than satisfactory experience as it is not what we strive for. I greatly respect your organization as a State-run mental facility and hospital providing critical care to patients of various backgrounds. I highly recommend Northern Virginia Mental Health Institute as a place of employment or for people to receive treatment as it is a place of caring. 🙏

I believed the place was very clean, paid attention to our grandfather's meds and our family still mourns his passing but when hospitals can't get to their stations, a place worn down. Never saw any bugs. He said the food was another. Buffet style.
