I can’t say enough good things about the care my mother received at Lewis Gale Hospital Alleghany in Low Moor, Virginia. During a very difficult and emotional time for our family, the staff treated my mother with so much kindness, patience, and compassion. They were very attentive to her needs and always made sure she was comfortable and cared for. What meant the most to me was knowing that she wasn’t just being treated like a patient—they truly took the time to care about her and our family. They answered our questions, kept us informed, and were there when we needed them. I am truly grateful to every nurse, doctor, and staff member who took care of my mother. 21 years of addiction. 4 years in prison. 4 complete rehab stays in other facilities. It took me going 5 hours from home, fighting the entire way, to make it to harmony ridge. When I tell you, these people were there for me the minute I stepped out of the car. Someone told me that day (as I was starting to withdraw) "You never have to use ever again." Something so simple, but so powerful. I spent 11 days in detox and 28 in the regular program. I graduated and walked out of there more proud and prepared then I've ever felt in my life. I now have just about 18 months clean, and Harmony Ridge in Barboursville is how that was made possible! Special thanks to Mikey, Rooster, Matt (our spades buddies) Junior, the AMAZING cooks (the food ROCKS btw) my counselor, Jenn, for being there for me when I missed home, who noticed when I wasn't quite myself,and who let me cry multiple times in her office, even when I was afraid to go home, and my case worker Tiffany who was super new but she rocked it and made sure I had transportation, a great sober living house, and even a dentist appt for when I went home!!! Theres so many of yall I cant remember the names, but plz know even 18 months later u guys have ALL made an impact on my life. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. LOVE YALL!!!

If you or someone you know are thinking about going to a treatment center I’m happy to say the staff here have created something special. From the second I called I’ve been treated with love care and empathy by everyone at the facility. Even after completing the 28 program staff members like Joshua Haskiell reach out to check in on me regularly. They don’t make anymore money to do those things they are just genuinely good people with big hearts who have earned my trust. The main guy the director of operations Jacob May was there in the flesh 6 days a week with his door literally open all day. A man in his position doesn’t have to make your problems his problems but that’s exactly what he does for anyone needing help. He personally helped me with seemingly little things but important to me and he didn’t act like they were little he acted like they were important to him. That’s the kind of care you can expect to get at this facility top notch.

So I arrived at Mt.Regis like most others do,tired and confused,angry and feeling guilty, shameful and unworthy. I was seriously damaged inside, and out. All I knew for sure is that I wanted and needed to be, and do better with and for myself and my life. I suffer from PTSD, and I have been through some horrible ordeals in my lifetime. I had been neglectful, and neglected. My thoughts were all scrambled and my thought process was dangerously out of order. While I was in treatment I was treated with so much respect, and understanding that it almost felt surreal to me, especially because of the life I had been living, and the treatment I was being given by all those fake friends, and even some of my family members over the years. The staff at Mt.Regis made me feel welcome,and appreciated. They taught me how to find and collect myself. They gave me all the tools I needed to make a full recovery,and also how to use them. I applied those tools which were coping skills, trigger recognition, accountability, honesty,self recognition,goal setting, boundary setting, changes to my environment and appreciation for my peers who were facing and dealing with the same challenges as myself. By doing so, I found my true self, one known as a nurturer. I was assisted with every aspect of my recovery and treated like a person worthy of a second chance and the respect and understanding that can only be given by true friends, "Family". I say family because that's exactly what I gained during my treatment. I have formed true friendships and bonds that will stand the test of time, and a family that has been supportive of me from day one. I owe My.Regis all the respect and appreciation in the world. They truly saved my life, and I will never be able to repay them for that. I'm now in a step down program,and upon completion of it,and after a few more months of clean and sober living, I hope to return to Mt.Regis as a Recovery Coach.I see that as my way of paying this gift of life forward. I want more than most other things to be able to be for someone else exactly what Mt.Regis was to me,a Lifesaver. To anyone in need of help obtaining a clean and sober life, I highly recommend My.Regis for your support and recovery team. If you are serious about getting your life back in order,and rebuilding it from the bottom up there is no better place to do so and achieve greatness. I have been going here for 3 years and never had a problem until Madison, the counselor, showed up. I would give Madison 0 stars because she doesn't follow HIPPA. She has a big mouth and she has been running her mouth about me all over town, even things that were said in my private sessions with her. I give Medmark 5 starts, but Madison gets zero stars. She'll be the reason I leave Medmark. She's trifling and always trying to not schedule me so that I'll have to have longer sessions with her. I don't want to talk to Madison at all and sit in her office pretending to be happy about it. I brought up the rumors she started and she laughed.

This clinic actually treats their patients like they are human beings. Unlike acadias clinics which they own all of the clinics in wv but this one. These people saved me! From the doctors, nurses, and counselors. To even the office manager and receptionist. These people really care! They don’t treat you like less of a person because of your “situation” they are respectful and professional. Honestly, if more treatment centers would follow the lead of this one. I probably would have gotten help 10 years ago. If you are 110 percent serious about getting help. And you choose to go the maintenance route. This is the place! I never would have made it if the staff wasn’t as supportive as they are. So thank you to everyone there! They listened to me when absolutely no body else would! They didn’t judge me when absolutely everyone else did! they were kind to me, when no one else was! And they had faith in me, when even I had no faith in myself! I read through the reviews, and I can assure you. Do not base your opinion of this place by the bad ones. If you are truly ready to make a change in your life. I promise, these folks will help you with being successful!

I had a procedure yesterday and I was very scared and emotional. My surgeon dr. Cherian did a wonderful job reassuring me of his confidence and ability. My care team, specially nurse Ashley, was incredibly supportive and comforting as I was visibly anxious and emotional. I felt very cared for by everyone who assisted me and overall it was a very comfortable experience. I am eternally grateful for each nurse and dr who came to see me before the surgery giving me detailed descriptions of what they would be doing and how they would assure a smooth operation. All of my questions were answered and I felt adequately informed and cared for throughout the entire process. Thank you to my whole team but specifically nurse Ashely, I was truly touch by her compassion and empathy towards my situation.

I arrived at Virginia Baptist on 8/19/26 for an outpatient procedure to have my gallbladder removed. Immediately upon starting the procedure Dr. Lilly found that my gallbladder was badly inflamed and loaded with gallstones and sludge, which was the complete opposite of the ultrasound results I'd received in early July. He & his team then spent 2+ hours making sure that the failing organ that had been causing me distress for months was dissected and removed. I was pretty bummed out learning that I was going to have to spend a night in the hospital but I quickly found out that I had a great care team. My RN & aide on day one, Jessa & Mary, took great care of me. And the night shift care team, Agnes and La-Tamra, were both great and very patient with a very tired and sore man. The lab tech who came by for early AM labs performed one of the least painful hand sticks I've ever experienced and it was such a relief not to have a bruised hand like I end up having so often. On day two Jessa was back to look after me along with a different aide, Michael. They were both so kind and took such great care of me throughout the day. The whole care team definitely made an unexpected hospital stay a great experience and I can't express enough how thankful I am for them, their kindness, their good energy and professionalism.

Birth experience in 2024 was great. Birth experience in 2026 not so great. This may be a longer review, but I want to be as specific and fair as possible about my experience. For context, I gave birth to my second child at this hospital. As I did with my first delivery, I chose to labor and deliver without an epidural or other pain management interventions. I felt confident in this decision because I was familiar with my body’s cues and knew when it was time to push based on my contractions and the natural progression of labor. Unfortunately, my experience with Dr. Kim Marie Freeman during active labor was disappointing. At a time when I needed support and encouragement, I felt rushed through the process. It seemed as though my labor was being treated as an inconvenience rather than a significant and intensely personal experience. What was particularly discouraging was being told to do something during labor and then being laughed at when I was unable to do it immediately. Labor is physically and emotionally demanding, and those interactions felt insensitive and dismissive. Rather than feeling supported, I felt pressured and unheard. That said, I want to emphasize that the rest of my experience at the hospital was excellent. The nurses, patient care staff, lactation consultants, room service team, and everyone else I interacted with were exceptional. They were attentive, informative, compassionate, and mindful of my needs throughout my stay. Their professionalism and care made a very positive difference in my overall experience. While I am grateful for the outstanding care provided by the hospital staff as a whole, my interaction with Dr. Freeman significantly impacted what should have been a positive birth experience.

Dr Reid is very professional without being detached. He is engaged with my case and is kind and empathetic. I am so glad I chose him to do my ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder testing. I have attended this clinic since it first opened. Throughout the years, it has taught me about "coming clean" with myself & exactly the purpose and perks of MAT. It has honestly saved my life time after time! About a year ago, I was assigned a new counselor, Ms Marilyn Green, and she has been BEYOND GREAT! I've never had a counselor who cares and supports me any more than she does! She is honest, up-front, and just shows that she CARES about me. Shout-out to whomever hired her!

I’ve been coming to Prestera since it was Shawnee Hills back in the 90’s. It’s changed a lot over the years, but now in 2026 I come to Prestera Health Services for therapy and now they’re like, “hey, want a primary care provider too?” At this point I’m convinced they’re trying to fix all of me and honestly… I respect the ambition 😂 The therapists are amazing though. They’ll sit there all calm while I’m explaining my life like it’s a dramatic series, and then hit me with one question that has me rethinking everything on the drive home like, “well… that was personal.” And now with PCP services?? So I can talk about my feelings and get my blood pressure checked in the same place? Efficient. Convenient. Slightly suspicious how well they understand my needs. Staff is super kind, super patient, and somehow still nice even when I say things like “I think I’m fine now” after one good day. 10/10 would recommend. Came for therapy, stayed because they’re low-key helping me get my life together in every category.
