As I hope for everyone and anyone that people open there minds and hearts up to those who ask for help. We are not bad people just as cancer is a disease so is addiction! I was never warned by my doctor that the medication he was given me would turn my life upside down and when it did my doctor cut me loose. Coming from a family with addiction problems I then knew I had to get help. This treatment center is great compared to others! They help you with EVERYTHING from your addiction to your transportation needs. Be prepared for friends and family to turn their back on you because it will happen. Narrow minded people think this isn’t getting help it’s replacing on addiction with another. If that’s the case then almost everyone in the world are addicts. If you get the flu and take medication for it same thing, you get poison ivy you get medicine for it same thing. Yes I know it’s not 100% exact but hopefully some of you get my point here! Please stop knocking us down when we are doing everything we can to fix the problem. The employees were all very detailed and helpful with the answering of my many questions. The most important to me was the level of kindness they all showed. It is not an easy thing for me to actually seek help with my addiction issues, but they made it comfortable. Her caseworker Annie is absolutely amazing and supportive and her psychiatrist is compassionate and extremely helpful. We were truly lost before we found this support system. The staff is organized and efficient. Registration was easy and visits are always a pleasant experience. We rarely wait and my child’s safety is a priority. I truly can not complain at all. The 2 stars was the last appointment the male dentist the old guy a complete jerk to my daughter. He didn’t even tell her he was numbing her with the needle and kept getting really frustrated with her. Mind you she’s so scared of needles and dentists as is. He really didn’t make it better at all. He was getting mad at her because she was scared and jumped. Him and his nurse didn’t even acknowledge us when they came in kept speak to each other and barely spoke to us the entire time. If it wasn’t needed I would have left. He shouldn’t even be able to work with anyone let alone kids him or his nurse. Edit: they’ve done so much better since last time. Staff cares and gets what it’s like to be an addict, and a lot of people in the program are genuinely trying to get better. The long haired cook Blue is the BEST. He was my favorite staff member while I was in there, super professional, and he makes great food. And the woman running the place is a sweetheart. Of course, there were some other people in the program that didn’t take it as seriously but oh well, everyone’s different. Over all 4.5/5 cyr prou 4 months ago Edgehill saved my life. The staff here care. They teach boundaries, accountability, and will show up for you. Getting clean is what you make of it. If you do the work, you’ll see results and the staff will help you every step of the way. If you fall and reach out for help, they will be there to pick you up. I’ll have a decade clean this year and I could never ever ever have done it without the support of the community here. This treatment center is a 12 step model, which has worked for me. They set you up for success with an outpatient program as well as referrals to sober living. We did chores, which helps in taking positive actions, accountability, and gaining self esteem. The groups every day are helpful, educational, and varied so as not to be boring. The AA and NA community hold meetings in their larger meeting room daily so you can’t help but get plugged in to the community. And if you are just having a bad day and no longer at the center you can pop in and there is always someone to talk to.
