Dr Boatwright is the first Dr of any type that listened to what was going on with me instead of trying to tell me how I felt. I have had physical issues since the Covid shot that had effect on my quality of life and she seen that it had effects on me to lead to my attempt at suicide. She has given me a better quality of life moving forward. Mrs Katherine used her amazing skills and personality not only to give me great skills leaving there but I seen her groups have people smiling and some that had not spoken a word since getting there, to start talking and getting involved in her groups. They used to have a good community and everyone was cool with each other and you could get help with mental illness. They even had a person make eggs, pancakes, bacon and coffee in the morning that you could pay for and they even provided a lunch too. I was tired and beaten down but hopeful to find the perfect fit, and boy did I find it! Firstly, it is staffed with the most knowledgeable and compassionate people an institution of this nature could provide. The staff was warm and inviting on day one; a day that a very anxious young person needed this type of reception. While I wasn’t privy to the treatment provided, not hearing one complaint says a lot! In fact, I only heard positive things and saw excitement, which to me equates to trust and commitment to treatment. I don’t know how they do it but they are very successful in what they do. The extra therapeutic services that they offer, including Biosound Therapy, redlight therapy, and TMS take a more holistic approach to recovery that makes a huge difference. They are kind, accomodating and respectful. I didn't feel condescended to, nor treated like less of a human being. I felt that the workers set a tone of respect and dignity and support on the unit. The groups were awesome and very well facilitated. I felt like they weren't just there for a paycheck, that they actually cared about doing a good job. I really appreciated the ability to isolate in my room, unlike other facilities that lock the rooms during the day. That was a necessity for me as an autistic person, in order to prevent overwhelm and truly feel safe. Therapy groups could be stressful, but I wasn't forced to attend which I really appreciate.
